Feng Shui like many other disciplines; have a macro and micro view. The macro scope can be:- 1. The Landscape 2. The site 3. The building or the home. Thus more often, the above three are equally important as the interior of a home. Therefore, Feng Shui cannot live in isolation without the surroundings. 4. The home interior:- 4.1. When planning a home, Feng Shui is looked at in it's entirety. 4.2. What you are looking at or consider looking at is MICRO-Feng Shui of say one or two rooms. Feng Shui can do so.

Frankly, there is no hard-coded rule for this. In my opinion, there were many or lots of instances where the day is not auspicious for that partner e.g. hubby. The hubby could come in an hour later on the same day. Alternatively, there were instances where this same hubby comes in only after the full procedure has been carried out by his wife.

Dear Kyin, It is advisable to close the toilet door. As for the toilet cover, this is optional. The other advise, is to keep the toilet `bright' and dry to create a more yang environment. As for the Ba Gua mirror, in my opinion, this is not of any use here. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, 1. So far, I do not see any issue relating to the type of floor pattern used e.g. in the kitchen. 2. In my opinion, just about any "normal" design laid tiles. For example from plain pattern to checked are perfectly ok. 3. The more concern is on Yin and Yang. For example, if the house is long and narrow e.g. North-South alignment; and if there are no windows on the East or West, this can be quite dark - particularly in the kitchen. 4. Thus, for such a situation, it is advisable not to use e.g. dark or black tiles. 5. Nowadays, when I review or do audits for my clients, I do get to see units that are of this configuration. 6. For example, this condominium was …

Dear Suraya, Usually, the Chinese astrology forecast you mentioned is considered very general as it looks only at the year of birth. Often, we may have to put aside such forecast since we do not want to create: 1. auto-suggestion 2. self fulfilling prophercy Since both of you have been staying for two years, frankly, it is time for both of you to plan for the future. In my opinion, even for weddings, nowadays, many of us plan for it. (Even if it is not this year). An early marriage is often a good idea; often because, it is good to have children when young. And also, it forms a basis for a continued relationship (for most people). Warmest Regards, Cecil I I …

Dear Carlos, Wow! Double #5's are bad enough (Misfortune/sickness x 2). But with the addition of #9 (strong fire), this is a "potent" inauspicious combination. Since strong fire further fuels strong earth #5 x2. If you can, usually, a set of wind chime could be used outside the bedroom e.g. window area to dissipate this three combined inauspicious combination. In addition, it is best to use metal cure inside this room to further negate the bad sector. Try to avoid: Check the room for presence of Earth element i.e. earth tones e.g. cream, beige or yellow. And further avoid any Fire (red, pink or purple) colour in the room. The most common is to check that the walls are not…

Dear Susan, Please see below:- If you have a layout plan it would be much easier to give you proper advise. There is a conference for attachments for this. I understand, you have applied for help under our token, audit for `hardship' case. Robert will give you the necessary credit for this. For those, who have problems, is advisable to use more professional tools as it usually will help to analyse the situation in a more `scientific' way. A layout plan would help us locate the main door. If you have previously, consulted any practitioners and had been given advise on purchasing `stuffs' to hang, it is adviseable to remove them totally. From many past cases, it is …

1. Possible for a Block of flats. Here, especially the frontage of all units face a specific direction. 2. For a landed property, it depends: 2.1. If the neighbours are in-close proximity; say each is a small plot of land, your "south" frontage may be facing another plot's side-view. Here, if one is "unlucky", one may even get to face the toilets of the neighbour or even their backyard (some) with messy storage and hanging laundry. In addition, one will be in big-trouble, if the neigbhour's home roof is triangular shaped and have several of these "attacking" your "south" facing home. 2.2.Try to plot the Flying Star and take the opportunity to "activate" say the double …

Dear Mary, Thank you for making the effort to describe the lot. However, it is quite difficult to provide an accessment because one really needs to look at the site inorder to properly evaluate the situation. Please see below:- 1. Using Flying Star to see which can be your best main entrance. And if possible, the house has good Flying Stars in the various rooms. 2. Use the eight house charts to see where the bedrooms and the main entrance (can be). Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Samatha, Another alternative is the grille gate. Here, for example, if one has a stainless steel or aluminium gate, some of the panels can be flushed with "steel" or aluminium sheet. Such that for the steel sheet, it covers e.g. the knee level or sometimes we see aluminium gates that have a large area covered up. It is nice to have the steel sheet covering the gille gate surface as it is reflective. And this reflection is akin to a ba gua mirror. Warmest Regards, Cecil

1 Considering the various forms of luck; ba zi is only 1/3 out of the Holy Trinity of luck. 2. Where ba zi is only about born with; and itis just a snapshot of when we were born. There are several escape clauses to it: education, influence from family, friends etc.. 3. For the home, it is still very riskly to consider just onhomes with earth directions, as there are many many more influences on a home.

Hi, Generally, for studies usually what affects you is the location of your study location in the house and also your own "likes" and "dislikes" for certain subject. 1. Often when most people have problems concentrating or doing work, it is usually because you stay in location or working in a direction which is unsuitable for you. This is usually the case. Example you are trying to study in a room which is your five ghost or irritation. Generally, you will not feel very comfortable there. Use the Eight House report to help you determine that. 2. If the Eight House shows a good room for you to study in, then the other reason is the room itself, it may contain bad stars w…

Dear Anon, I have friends who have a similar chair as yours. It is ok to place it at your entrance area or in the living room area. - If it is placed at the entrance area, it is best to place it facing the main entrance. - If it is in the living room area, best to place if facing `out' e.g. facing a window or door. This is still acceptable. Although my preference is that it is placed at the entrance area. Warmest Regards, Cecil

I am planning to put a big mirror measuring approximately 36x36 as part of a dresser table in my daughter's bedroom. The mirror will be hanging ona wall opposite the bathroom door. I read that this is not good. Our bathroom has clothes cabinet inside and not just the toilet. When the bathroom door is open, it will show the cabinet first.Turn right a little, beside the cabinet, will be the sink. And beside the sink is the toilet. So the toilet is a little further away from the bathroom door. Will it be ok to hang a mirror opposite the bathroom door? Thank you so much for any advice you can give me. By the way, the mirror will be on the same wall as the headboard of the bed…

Dear Bernie/Ann, There are some resources on the type of ba gua mirrors under the attachment picture. Try to check out the conference: Photo Tours of Interest (with Pictures). Do a SEARCH for the key words as found in this attachment. A ba gua (pa kua mirror) should not be anyhow placed inside a home. For example, it should not be placed inside a home facing inwards into any of our rooms, living / dining, bedrooms. Or for any purpose, it is not ideal to place it inside the home. If you do a search of the above resource, you can find that a proper type of ba gua mirror (depending on it's shape and mirror and wordings or door gods have different purpose.) For exa…

1. Traditional Feng Shui uses both Shapes and Forms and Compass School of Feng Shui. 2. Since your "Shapes and Forms" is always changing on a ship, logically this concept does not apply to a moving ship. 3. In addition, on a moving ship, compass direction(s) is always changing, equally, Compass School, does not apply. 4. At the higher level is the Yin and Yang concept. Thus this is the most relevant i.e. when time for sleep, see if your home on the ship is cosy enough. And in the day-time usually during work, you should be on the ship's deck or command centre?

Dear Derek, Based on the little information provided, you may have to use your personal feeling to determine where you feel comfortable with the placement of a fish tank. Bear in mind that the living room should have clear space and the fish tank can be e.g. a conversation piece or against a wall, where you and your family feel comfortable with. Normally, the Flying Star chart is used to find out if there is any imbalance (if any) at the location where one wants to place a fish tank. Or, because a specific location can activate the water star. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Ling Ling, Please see below:- Often if no screen or partition is used, simply closing that particular window is ok. But if the window is left open, then a blind could be "poor alternative". Avoid bright yellow or cream or beige especially in the bedroom or bright red or pink in the master bedroom. This could be the colour of the walls or curtains or bedsheet.

Dear Anon, In Traditional Feng Shui:- 1. The main door is important as it is like the `mouth' of the house. 2. The main important thing here is that the main door, must be "protected". "The mouth must not be hurt". For example, if a sharp corner of another building points to the house, it is known as Sha Qi or poison arrows. Other common arrows include, a single lamp post that slices the main door (tangent to it). Here, if one stands at the main door and looks out of the house, the object e.g. a lamp post should not slice the main door. 3. Besides, the main door, the frontage e.g. windows, should also be `protected' from some of the harm as mentioned above. 4. Tradition…

Dear Max, 1. Recently, there has been a few postings with regards to the `conflicting' information provided by e.g. Flying Star Feng Shui vs Eight House Theory. 2. I like to elaborate that; there is no conflicting information on either the Flying Star Feng Shui nor the Eight House Theory. 3. Here in lies what I have suggested a THREE-Step approach to find out: 3.1 What is the aim or purpose of each theory? If one knows the aim of each of this theory, one would then not be confused or feel that the information provided by e.g. Flying Star or Eight house CAN be contradictory. 3.2 What are the strengths and 3.3 What are the weakness of the theory or concept. 4. In a few rec…
