In fact, having one's back to a `glass' wall is not necessarily bad so long as there is a back row cabinet behind us. Usually, this cabinet is at the same level as our side partition. Since you mentioned that the canal will be covered, this is better. Since this is a point-block, where qi can flow all round it, this is a plus point.
