    1. The developer uses this same layout plan for his entire project in a Singapore "estate". 2. Again, same story: toilet at the frontage. And the toilet bowl shares an "external wall". 3. Hopefully, again, the toilet plumbing is not above the "critical" living room areas such as the sofa seat area.

Unlike the Initial-opening which is also known as First-time-open-door procedure; just imagine; later on one should try to "warm-up" the kitchen. The best "warm-up" is the use of the stove. There is no harm to place the Fa Gao (Haut Quay) on the stove. Place it aside somewhere else later in the kitchen that's all. Frankly, the procedures are just symbolic. The act of bringing in the items are like "placing" wealth into a home. So long as the item and many other pass the main door; all it takes is simple commonsense. For example, if one were to bring in a packet of sugar, rice etc.. the natural thing is to stock up the kitchen. Be it, "now" or later. Do take note that ag…

Dear Cheui May, Grateful, if you can draw a simple sketch as it will be clearer to see/understand. If you can how far is the `threat' and is there a road between your house and your neighbours. If so, roughly how wide is the road? Warmest Regards, Cecil P.S. Please post it to the conference for attachments. Thanks in advance.

It is logical to keep the water bottle closed when not in use. If the bottle is not exposed to heat and is securely closed, it can be stored for an extended period of time. Indications that the water needs to be replaced include bubbles in the water or the bottle shrinking. Therefore, it is similar to a "set it and forget it for a few months" type of situation.

Thanks Cecil, Frankly I also caught it by surprise at the shop and the bed layout fits very well to tap my boys best direction. The elder sleeping pointing to the west (below bed) and the youngest onto sleeping facing to the south, on the left and both have a strong support of the wall. And it save space too. The table below also good for my elder boy facing the west. Guess nothing is always perfect. Will hunt for the normal type instead. Hope this is good layout for discussion.

  11. Dear Kenny, 1. Thank you for the link. I have already checked out the two designs. 2. It is not as auspicious to have the main door (face) the dining table. 1.1 This is more of a commonsense approach in Feng Shui. 1.2 The rationale is because often, in many homes, the dining table is often cluttered with food e.g. bread and since not all family members return home at the same time, food is often left on the table. Dear Amy, Thanks for your clarifications. Since you are using your room at night, lighting is important and this would depend on whether you are working or resting. As far as possible, try to make the room as cosy as possible particulary place a faourite photo or even a small vase of (real or artificial) flowers would help. 13. 1. Your analysis is OK. 2. Just take note that usually Orange colour should be classified as under metal = gold element. 3. As three major dialect groups of the Chinese consider "orange" as gold:- 3.1. The Cantonese Dialect group (largest population outside of China, Guandong province) in Hong Kong and is 2nd largest Chinese population in Singapore: calls orange "KUM" or gold. 3.2. The Hokkien Dialect group (in Singapore is the largest dialect group) outside of China calls it "KIM" or also gold. 3.3. The Teochews (the third largest dialect group in Singapore) also calls it "KIM" or gold. 4. For example, many young couples or youngsters who visit their elders always …

  17. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: We bought a new house. The main door is facing NW. Heard the 'wu-huang-sha' (5-yellow-sha) is on NW this year 2005 so it is not good to renovate. Is that ok if we start the renovation now but only move in next year (2006) after Lunar New Year? Firstly, is this a period 7 (1984-2003) house or period 8 (2004-2023) house. The reason I ask this is because, if it is a period 7 house or earlier, then any major renovation work done will change the house period. So the luck of the entire house might change for the better or worst depending on the charts. Generally, if you have a star 5 in the main door this year, of course, the worry would be that i…

Frankly, you still use the same tools and advice for a square or odd shaped room. 1. Determine where is the door, and avoid placing the bed in positions that it faces the door etc:- URL: http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-bedroom.htm 2. You also have to use theeight house to determine which sector of the bedroom falls in your better sector, then place the bed closer to that sectorr. 3. Also, based on your eight house, you can determined which of the directions would be best for your sleeping position. Once you determine all that, then you…

  20. Asians are familiar with this plant. As it's essence is used to flavour Nonya cakes and used in many deserts and there is even a pandan cake. Some Singapore Taxi drivers and even Singaporeans place a bunch of this pandan plant in their car. To them, it is believed that cockroaches dislike this plant and thus is used as a natural method of getting rid of roaches in a home or car. To many from overseas, they may find this smell as pungent as smelling the local durian fruit. The family name of this plant is: Pandanaceae and it's common name is called fragrance pandan. This plant is relatively easy to grown in a home. And is also one of the all time favourites of hous…

Sorry, I hope not to sound too harsh in my earlier e-mail. 1. Further to what I had mentioned, I really feel sad that many of are taken in by modern commercial products. And it feels sad that many of such products are circulating around - in the name of "Feng Shui". 2. They should actually be classified as "decorative" items. And not, described as some important - in the name of Feng Shui cure or something like that. 3. Human nature is such: How often do we hear many people saying that when they have problems, one way to side-track their problem is to over-eat. Some of these persons, feel that over eating can simply "wish" their problems away! 4. Thus it is a real p…

Serene K. wrote: If my Bed is putting exactly same as the plan and my stove is putting as your mark as ''X''. Is it not good? Why? any solution? Yes, I suspected that your stove would have been at that location as 65 percent of such layout plans do place the stove at that position. This is under symbolism in Feng Shui; where it is considered inauspicious to have stove = fire element sharing the same wall as your bed-head. For some, they have a "thick" bed-head with a shelf behind their bed to place the alarm clock etc... this is one solution. The other is to move the bed-frame two inches away from the wall shared directly with the wall of the stove. The main concern is…

Dear Anon, Frankly, I have this to say: 1. Users or practitioners want to `play safe' and advise to use more not less. 2. One must remember that everything is about balance. I have seen lots of cases where even some practitioners advise their clients to place so many `cures' or remedies that resulted in their clients going into problems. I do not wish to see users here `falling' into such problems. 3. I have also advised users to follow the Customer Engineer Concept, where if you are using `cures' to use them selectively or not to use too many at a time. Else you may not be sure of what to do next. 4. Under the Five Elements concept, wood is used to destroy earth (concre…
