    1. As I mentioned, in the previous message; if Feng Shui is to be applied; usually it is based on Para 2... e.g. Flying Star Feng Shui and/or in the Far East, if a place has good Shapes and forms Feng Shui; it can sell by itself. 2. If you are especially say in the US, housing market is pretty stale at the moment with tons of homes on foreclosure and many uanble to get proper loans. 3. Honestly, Feng Shui is not a cure all. Only those that has been mentioned in my last msg (refer to Para 2 of that msg) and under Para 1, of this msg.

Imagine, if this is true:- 1. All Geomancers will be "shaking their legs" while waiting for the beginning of lunar new year! 2. In fact, some people were told to have their premises reviewed "Yearly"! This will be sweet news to the ears of every Geomancer! 2.1 Thus imagine, if a geomancer has 500 new clients every year! And if 50 percent of the 500 new clients asked for their home to be reviewed yearly or even ever 3 years! If we accumulate this 500 to every year of geomancer's service, he will be rich beyond the wildest dream! 3. Thus have anyone heard that a Geomancer only works in the beginning of the year and like bears hibernate the rest of the period? Yes / No?…

Dear Chee Foo, Please see below:- Since your flat is so high, you should take North as the facing direction. Frankly, for a standalone (landed property) home, it is much easier to fly over the new period. Since for the landed property, removing some of the roof-tiles and replacing them (plus cleaning the rest) would help. In my opinion, since we are just begining to change qi, it is better to do what is mentioned by you, perferably one or two months later rather than during this interim `cut-off' period. For an apartment, usually to play safe, one symbolic method is to paint the entire ceiling. This is symbolic of removing the roof of the "apartment". As lion danc…

Dear Stan, Frankly, too many ba gua mirror is an overkill. As mentioned in the earlier e-mail, sometimes, many of us like to hear `nice' things. Often, these are more of Ren Cai or man or human luck. It may make us feel good (perhaps a short while) but when it does not work - who do we blame? This is why, many Feng Shui practitioners are often act more like `counsellors' than Feng Shui practitioners. Often, this is a psychological thing. For example, often after every of my audit, the client (Chinese) would ask : where is my `wealth corner'. I can understand that it would certainly make one feel nice to have such a corner or that such a corner existed. And some practit…

Dear Hartono, Grateful if you can clarify further. Do you mean that your home has two set of stairs or is it the building that you live has two set of stairs. Usually, if it is the building, this could be due to fire regulations where many buildings have two set of stairs on both sides. For stairs in the home, (interior) of the home: 1. The stairs should not be located at the centre of the house. 2. The stairs should have a turn or landing and not be one long set of steps. 3. Where possible avoid spiral staircases. 4. The steps should not be directly seen from the main entrance door. 5. It is ok to have to sets of stairs in the house. This is acceptable especially if one …

Dear Anon, I have attached a simple sketch showing in RED, the best areas for activating a mountain stair if it is present. As mentioned earlier, each house is different in layout and in some houses, the back door can be at the kitchen while for others, it is a standalone passage way. The best method is to clearly understand the concept that the mountain star is to enhance the `solid-backing' and not to hinder the frontage by blocking it. Thus for the frontage, it is often suggested that water or clear space is ideal. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Brenda, 1. In my opinion, Feng Shui based on `sectors' is too general and I feel that it is an unreliable form. 2. The question I often ask myself is: How is it that each and everyone's SW is the marriage and romance corner? It is not possible especially if everyone tries to `enhance the sector. 3. I often quote the situation where there is say only 1 lady and three men have made much effort to enhance their SW. For example, one man placed 1 rose at the SW. While the second male placed 12 roses at SW. The third person places 100 roses at SW. 4. Does it mean that the one that enhances that sector the `most' eventually "gets" the lady? What if they all wait and as a r…

  15. Hi Cecil As you know, I am involved with a 30 unit development here in Perth. For AU$1.6 M you get 255 sq metres of indoor floor space and 155 sq metres of balcony and terrace. A huge price difference. Here, we do not have any developments like Sterling, mainly because we have much more room to move than in Singapore. I was interested to see that the swimming pool appears not to have rounded edges. Cheers Glyn

  16. These are some considerations: 1. Thanks for your detailed sketch! 2. Under a major concept in symbolism; all bedroom doors must open inwards: to symbolise "qi flow" into the room. 3. This is why often, all main entrance doors must open inwards. 3.1 I do clearly remember that a few years ago, a Vietnam developer had forwarded layout plan(s) for a large estate with all main entrance door opening outwards. 3.2 Here, this is considered not auspicious. 4. Ideally, for a home, it is best also that the backdoor should also open inwards. But if there is no back door (just a grille gate then no issue if the grille gate opens outwards). 5. Not to worry, for convenience and pract…

  17. Dear Anon, The Chinese Animal Signs is based on Chinese Astrology. In a broad sense, it is the equivalent of say the `English' Astrology signs such as Gemini, Cancer etc... One should take note that Chinese Astrology is also called "Zi Wei Dou Shou". For those who are new and like to find out the 12 different Chinese animal signs can visit one of my earlier sites: http://www.lovesigns.net This site compares the compatibility based on a person's year of birth. One has to be cautious to use different animal signs to improve Feng Shui especially if one purchases `objects'. For example, it is in auspicious to place a picture of a hungry tiger who is on the `prowl' in the hom…

Dear Anon, 1. There are some differences in opinion over this. But the differences are not on Feng Shui but rather based on `beliefs'. 2. The belief is that it is inauspicious to hang a carpet especially if it has been `used' before e.g. stepped on. 3. On the other hand, some find it acceptable to hang carpets. Especially `antique' carpets such as the Famous hand stiched Persian carpets. 4. It is my opinion, that there is really no harm to hang decorative carpets on the wall. They can be treated like any other piece of art. (Especially if they are rare pieces). Where best, if they have red background, ideally they should be hung in the living room or in a `special' room. …

Dear Anon, Since you have the inbuilt shoe rack, it should not be a major concern i.e. it is of secondary importance. Where possible, keep the shoe rack clean and once in a while, throw away unwanted shoes. Warmest Regards, Cecil Can I had my enclosed shoe rack in my living room? On top of the rack , I put a vase of roses and a lot of photo frame, can I do that? I cannot remove the rack as it is a built-in rack, is there any way to solve this if the shoe rack is not good to be in the living room? Thanks Dear Anon, Some Feng Shui practitioners advice one not to place a shoe rack immediately outside the main entrance. It is not difficult to guess the reason for it. A…

  21. My house has 3 levels and an attic... My lower ground has a large open lanai, my 2nd floor has 2 balconies 1 in the front and 1 at the back and I have a roof deck on my attic... Just to clarify Sir is this locations considered missing corners? Thank you in advance

  22. In my opinion, these are some considerations:- 1. Often, homes with different levels have different built up space. And often the home "gets" narrower or less floor area as it "rises" up. Thus, the attic often has the lowest floor area. 2. In considering the center-point of the house, best to look or use the ground level to determine the centrepoint. 3. In my opinion, missing corners for the ground floor is an important consideration. Same often goes to the 2nd storey. Higher up, it depends. There is no one rule that fits all sort of thing.

  23. Dear Nini, I agree with Deborah on this. One important concept in Feng Shui is " If it no longer can be seen (the threat) it no longer becomes a threat. Therefore, one of the easiest thing to do, e.g. a threat looking into a window is to use curtains or blinds. Blinds are a better alternative in such a situation since, one can manipulate it to filter as much light into the room (if possible). Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Fanny, In an open cubicle system, most of the time, we have to make do with the sitting position imposed on us. In a room concept, or one occupies a room, usually, the office desk may be able to be tilted to a good direction. Unfortuantely, in an open concept, we may have to take on any table. If this is such the situation, then, hopefully, we can face one of our 4 best directions. If you have not used the Free Eight House report on sitting position, you can use it to check out your sitting location. This is simply taking an ordinary compass and looking at the direction you are facing i.e. sitting down and facing to work. Warmest Regards, Cecil

    1. Yes, one may /could skip the First Time Open Door procedure and just do the move in ritual. 2. For this year; Take note the following sectors:- Grand Duke this year is East, 90 Degree. In addition, Misfortune/Sickness Star this year is also at East - Avoid sitting facing the grand duke or disturbing him by having renovations. Location in Conflict is West. - Avoid having renovations done opposite the location in conflict. 3. This year, it is not wise ESPECIALLYeven if one wants to dosimple renovations particularly at EAST. Given that both Grand Duke (Tai Sui) and Five Yellow (Misfortuen/Sickness) star is at that location. http://www.geomancy.net/resources/yearly-…
