Dear Oliv, Under the Holy Trinity of Geomancy: 1. Heaven Luck - what is given to us 2. Earth Luck - Feng Shui 3. Human (man-luck) - human relationship factors and psychology Most of it, I would personally think would fall under Human (man-luck)! It is about firstly, -- our feelings... As you had written, one may feel quite uncomfortable or some "worries" of whether it can or cannot affect Feng Shui Another is about "face" or for the Chinese "prestige". A half-painted house that is left halfway unpainted for sometime could imply that symbolically or we are in "financial difficulties". I know some of us don't care "too-hoots" what the neighbour(s) say! But, all these d…

  2. Dear Angela, A Le wrote: How would you read a diagram of a house to see if it is really missing any corners if it has a covered porch with a small fence around the porch? I have attached a photo. Do you count the covered porch or not? Because if you do not count it, then I will be missing a corner in the SW area, which is not good for me because of my ba zi. If based on the layout you attached, I would consider the garage a protrusion rather than consider the covered porch a missing corner. This is because when you conider where the main door is located, that would give you the border house, where the grarage becomes a protrusion. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robe…

Dear Wasis, If one is purchasing an existing home, it is always good to learn more about the history of the house. For example, if there is only one previous owner, (no tenants) simply, the owners are staying in the apartment, it is best to find out the purpose for their move. If it is a `valid' reason, for example, they are moving because of relocation of work in another county or to upgrade their home. Particularly, if it is for upgrading, this is a good `sign'. If a house was built e.g. in the 1950s or earlier, it is good to check it's history of occupants. For any situations e.g. suicide, murder etc... I hope the above clarifies. If not, feel free to let me know. Warm…

Dear David, I believe, in Singapore and everywhere else, needless to say, usually "better" Feng Shui homes or apartments (especially in choice) locations often common a higher premium than others. Thus, this is why for most condos, units facing "good views" such as the water feature (pool) etc often can command a higher price than say a unit next to, facing the dustbin area etc... Although Feng Shui is a major consideration, often when it comes to resale apartments, the usual "bad comments" are: 1. This is a "west" facing home or apartment - - quite hot 2. Fire station Yes, not so much of Feng Shui, but imagine the "noise" of the sirens ringing or the station activa…

Dear Anon, 1. I agree with you on your definition of more than one water position below. 2. What I find highly unusual is not so much of what you mentioned below, but I literally understood or thought that the earlier posting to mean that there are two water positions outside the main door i.e. on each side. This is what I felt. 3. The context of water positions so close-by side-by-side is in my opinion highly unusual. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Narendra, Based on your personal experience, is there any `problems' that you are currently facing. Frankly, there is not much you can do other than keep the location more `yang' i.e. where possible natural `bright'. Unfortunately, feng shui is no miracle cure for all problems. There is very little you can enhance in Feng Shui to help expedite a sale of a property. So under such a situation, there is really very little feng shui can help. You can only make u…

Dear Linda, Actually, you can use the many free calculators located at http://www.geomancy-online.com to generate the correct charts. As to the Chinese zodiac signs, because usually January or February or even as late as March, this is where the new year of the lunar calendar stars. For exampel in 1997:- 19 Feb 1996 to 6 Feb 1997 = fire rat and those born 7 Feb 1997 to 27 Jan 1998 = fire ox Reference: http://www.lovesigns.net/astrology/ayear/a90-2010.htm This can change the Ba zi element and strength for anyone born between 1 January 1997 to 6 February 1997 if they had wrongly being considered as a fire ox instead of a fire rat. Therefore, why not use the free ca…

Dear Henry, If you are doing an analysis, it is good to consider analysing the `different' results obtained if your main door is at the back or your actual main door. Usually, the frontage of the house is looked at. Here, standing outside the home or from either the front of the house or the back, check to see which is the brightest.. usually this is done in the morning or up to noon (12.00pm). 1. In many cases, the frontage is where you have your frontdoor or the door to the garage on nearly the same `face'. 2. If your back door is really at the back of the house, it is quite difficult to consider this as your main door. For purposes of FS audit, using say the Flying Sta…

  14. Dear Vivek, Thank you for your sketch of your hosue. Based on your sketch, your entrance to your house should be considered. And in your sketch it looks like East. And not NNE which is the entrance of the building. Please note that the Eight House Theory is meant more to find out how suitable the house is to you and your family members. And it is good if one spents time at that sector. Especially if the sector is the bedroom. The Eight House theory is about people living in the house. The Flying Star can be used to check on the birth chart of the house and find out and neutralise what's wrong with the house. And the Flying Star is about examining and fixing the imbala…

Dear Anon, 1. At the moment, it is difficult to pint-point the cause of your problems. As Feng Shui is quite diverse and it even extends to Pillars of Destiny or Ba Zi. And in addition, there are many other variables involved. 2. What I personally feel is that, sometimes, when we make continous mistakes, we tend to make more because we may then become to concious about our past mistakes. And makes us more "tensed-up". 3. And I personally feel that when we get more tensed and place pressure on ourselves to perform -- we tend to therefore make further mistakes. 4. In fact, do thing about how you had personally coped example -- in your previous studies and taking exams. Alt…

Dear Jen, Please don't get too unduly worried about this. There are so many theories in Feng Shui. One reference point has to do with these: 1. Spirits - are (were) said to travel in a straight line. The thought is (was) that they cannot negotiate turnings. This is the rationale why, many bridges have curves or even some Feng Shui practitioners ask their clients to tilt their door at the NE. 2. Clue: The idea came about because: NE is suppose to be the location where spirits or ghosts come into our world i.e. the devil's gate. And it would be so convenient; (to enter our homes) if our main door happens to be the first door they see. BTW, they are said to be able to go thr…

Hi Anon, This has been mentioned many times. Suitability is one area which cannot be corrected. You either should avoid it or move to a better direction to completely remove that problem. The other way to reduce the impact is to have more favourable colours (ie your clothing colour etc). This will also improve your luck and thus reduce the inauspicious impact from the suitability issue of the Eight House. Other areas ensure other feng shui flaws in your home are fixed. These will help reduce the impact of the inauspicious work direction. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

  19. Dear Hoa Luong, Hoa Luong wrote: Under P7, stars 6 and 1 are considered "average stars", but under P8, they are "auspicious stars". This is very confusing!, why is there such difference? Please explain. The 9 stars have different luck period depending on the period they are in. For example, Period 7, star 7 is good, but for other period it is a robbery star. It is a fading prosperity when it enters in to period 8 but revert to it's robbery star. So other stars will also be changed according to the interaction with the period. ie period 8, star 1 is the future future prosperity so the star is considered auspicious. Hope that helps. Dear Annabelle, Total Feng Shui is quite like some of the `tests' we took in School. For example, some tests involve multiple choice questions; others filling in the blanks and essay questions. Out of 100 marks, certain marks goes to specific sections of an examination. For example, take the case of Feng Shui = 100 percent or marks. In a `Feng Shui' exam, we could allocate the following marks (although it may not be exact):- For a HOME:- Shapes and Form = 40 percent Eight House Theory = 20 percent Flying Star = 30 percent Pillars (other luck)= 10 percent Here, you can visualise that it is not the `end of the world' senario, if you purchased a house that may not …

Dear Anon, 1. Gua or Kua cannot be used to locate the best placement of a water fountain. 2. The two dynamics is used: 2.1 Shapes and Forms Feng Shui. 2.2 Here, since the living room is often symbolically a `water' area, a water feature can still `hug' one of the walls. 2.2 Under the Compass School, the Flying Star Feng Shui is used to find the best location for a water position or alternatively to avoid a water position. 3. If one is new to Feng Shui, it is best to understand these concepts, first. 4. In addition, it is often unfavourable for the breadwinner who is a `weak fire' or `strong water' element to have water inside the home. 4.1 For example, water may further …

  24. Dear Master Cecil, This year the 5 yellow Yearly star flew into the East Sector which is an occupied bedroom( A) . Does it help if the windows of this bedroom are kept closed except for the upper vent ? The bedroom door can be kept open during the day for better ventilation. The ideais that the #5 Qi would have to come through the East Sector windows ( btw these windows are SE facing). That is, can we manipulate such that Qi may circulate from the Living room( NE & Center)into the East Sector bedroom thru' thebedroom doorbut preventing the negative #5 Qi to enter from the East bedroom windows by closing these windows? Dear Angelica, 1. Usually, such bad luck or misfortune arises from the Feng Shui of the previous owner's house. Especially if the house has a missing corner at the North sector of their exisiting home. Or where at a specific situation when the accident of the son could be due to the concentration of Flying Stars #5 x 2 or more either in the 20 year or yearly or even monthly charts. 2. In my opinion, the bad luck most likely will not be passed on. However, since you intend to go into business; it would be prudent to look at the Flying Stars of this shop space for your restaurant. With regards to any sectors that may have too yin a sectors. And if so, it should be cured. …
