General Help

Seek General Advice from Master Cecil Lee

  1. Started by jneow,

Dear Liang, Under the Shapes and Form Feng Shui, it is preferred not to have an air well in the middle of the house. However, from the illustration, you had provided, it looks like the air well is at one side of house. It is advisable not to place a water feature especially close to the centrepoint of the house as this is `bad Feng Shui'. This is because water (under I-ching implies difficulty) and a water position there would not be ideal. It would equally not be good to plant a lone tree there as this is equally bad Feng Shui. In your case, try to leave a clear space i.e. you can if you want to have small pots of plants within the air well. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Blanche, This is acceptable because: 1. In general, for example, some consider books are like knifes with `cutting' edges while soap, lotions are usually rounded. 2. One has to spent time at the location. As the toilet is usually a transit area... and we do not spent all our time there, there should not be any issues there. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  3. Dear Anon, Currently, there is no `evidence' to say that opening or closing a door which happens to be at the east direction will distrub the grand duke. It is in my personal opinion that, the Grand Duke does not `stay' or `sit' at a door only be be `banged' upon. Collectively one must understand that (most importantly) the Grand Duke refers to Chinese Astrology where the Grand Duke is based on the planet `Jupiter'. As Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system, it is suppose to extert a substantial influence on our planet. Overall, it is perfectly ok to have the door at the location. Only remember to try not to do any renovations at the location e.g. the wall sur…

  4. Started by Pedru,

Dear Pedro, Yes, there are a few considerations for any doors:- 1. It should always open inwards into the house. (Avoid having a door that opens outwards of the house). 2. If it is the main entrance door, the door or doors should be of equal size. The door(s) should be proportionate to the frontage or area of the house. 3. If the door is at the side, it should open towards the wall. 4. It should preferably not be in the "middle " of a room but preferred that it should be at any one of the side of the room. If not the door would be `hanging' in the " middle of the room. " Therefore priority must be given for the door to open inwards. It can be on any side of the room. Wher…

    1. It is Nice-to select a good date to perform the first-time open door procedure. 2. As this procedure applies to the breadwinners: usually Husban and wife; then, feel free to e-mail to: support@geomancy.net with Name / Gender / Date and Time of birth (western dates will do). If lunar dates, must make a comment/remarks. 3. Once I receive this, you can go and view the private link of the Combined auspicious dates and timing. Can advise you further; should that day of "inspection" is not auspicious or otherwise. Usually, 3rd day is always avoided as it is faithful dog day, where there are some superstitious belief. For longer rest period, it is always best to open on the 6th day for at least a few hours. Frankly, the procedures are not rocket science. And majority of the procedures are symbolic of "placing wealth into a new home". Personally, have already assisted many clients at least a few thousands with it. And many others have also DIY on their own. The procedures are non-religious also some clients add additional steps like bringing along their joss sticks or candles and "gold" paper.

Dear Master Cecil: I apologize for not being clear about the description of the house. The front door opens up to a "good size" foyer area. There is only one staircase leading up to the second floor. The staircase is on the left hand side of the foyer area. Nonetheless, the staircase is "not" situated in the range of the front door. The other end of the foyer is (1) a closet (for guests to hang their coats) and (2) a hallway that leads to a room for families to eat breakfast and snacks. To be specific, when the front door opens up, the first view farther to the foyer is the side wall of the closet, which occupies roughly more than 1/2 of the range of the front door. And t…

  9. Dear Anon, I understand your situation. Many of us, do not have as you mentioned a single matching positive direction. What we should instead understand further about the Eight House Theory on: 1.1 It's purpose 1.2 When sleeping one partner can sleep further away from the intangible force. In Feng Shui, if we consider the Five elements concept, we can find a binding element for both partners and apply it especially in the bedroom and living room. Regards, Cecil

In this worked SAMPLE illustration: 1. Take a look at Bedroom 2. 2. Since "Mum's" eight house chart shows Heath while "Dad's" chart shows "irritation" at SOUTH sector; 3. Thus in the illustration; it is preferred that if "mum and dad" occupies bedroom 2; "Mum" should sleep closer to the bedroom window while "Dad" sleeps closer to the bedroom door side. 4. This is one of the key areas the Eight House chart is used; for.

Dear Sylvia, 1. It is good to understand the rationale of the East / West group (gua) persons. 2. There are many (many) people in the world where both partners may not be from the same group. And it is very common to find a situation such as yours. 3. In Feng Shui, it is best to use this East/West group or commonly known as Eight House theory to: 3.1 Find out how suitable a house is to the breadwinner. 3.2 Locations where one spent time at. Such as the bedroom. 3.3 Sit facing a good direction ie. placement of table or for studying. 4. Where it comes to element interpretation such as one's house is South therefore, one has a Fire element should be taken `lightly' as it is …

Dear Hoa Luong, 1. Under the Five Elements concept, there is this saying " opposites attract! ". 2. Frankly, is a very common situation if we apply the eight house theory. 3. When u settle down and find a home, best to find a house that suits the main breadwinner (unfortunately under FS, it is still considered the man of the house). For example, a good direction at the main door. For you, it is good if this sector is say the irritation or spook sector. 4. For the bedroom, the partner who has the best influence sleep closer to his/her favourable sector. While the other partner sleeps further away. 5. For newly married couples, it is not advisable to sleep in an irregular …

  13. Dear Kitty, Please see below:- 1. This refers to the Eight House or 4 good & 4 bad directions. Since there are only the East Group or West Group of persons, 50% of the population will have issues that you face. 2. Statistically; 50% of all partners will have one spouse belonging to the East Group and their partner the West Group. 3. Thus, you are not the only person with this situation. 4. If one is choosing a new house one can follow the following guidelines:- 4.1 Where possible, try to find a house that is suitable to the `breadwinner'. Usually, the definition is that the breadwinner is the `male' of the house e.g. the husband. But what happens if the `female' …

Dear Barbara, I believe many of us are in the same situation as yours "exactly opposites". What is more important is to: 1. Understand the purpose / objective of each concept and what is can or cannot do. For example, under the Eight House Theory:- 1.1. It can be used in general to find out how suitable a house is to the "breadwinner." 1.2. Other than this, there is not much one can do; if e.g. North = death or health. If the bed is located here; perhaps, you can sleep closer to the North while your husband sleeps further away from the North direction. (He can be `shielded' by you). 2. The depth of application of Traditional Feng Shui depends on your level of participat…

Dear Foo Leong, Often, if we are applying the Eight House (4 good/bad), we could use the other partner as a "shield". For example, if this room is very suitable to you i.e. Excellent and for your wife; her irritation sector. You should sleep closer to the sector of influence and your wife sleeps further away -- using you as a shield. This is only the best that can be done, here. Of-course, sometimes, it may not be possible at all. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Nurit, Frankly, if Traditional Feng Shui is being applied, there are many principles involved in accessing both the home; the `fit' of the home to your parents (breadwinner); the birth chart of the house and even Pillars of Destiny of each family member. Another instance is that a North-East house (main door facing) may need additional attention especially since this is the (NE = devil's gate). For a start, you could try to apply the Eight House Theory using the steps shown under http://www.geomancy.net/fs/house1.htm Or use the free Eight House report available under www.geomancy-online.com At the same time, you can try to apply Shapes and Form Feng Shui. Dear Melissa, 1. Many people would encounter the same problem that you have faced. Especially if one partner is an East House while the other is a West House person. 2. If one is currently finding a new house, then look at the intangible force affecting each spouse at the main entrance and their bedroom. Go for smoother combinations e.g.: Prosperity vs Irritation or other such combinations as opposed to combinations such as: Longevity vs death or disaster. Under Ba Zi Feng Shui, one should consider `binding elements' or elements that can help bind both partners. For example, Strong Metal person vs Weak Earth person, one should use a binding element e.g. Fire element. War…

Dear Niap, Given that East Sector has WS7, vs NE with WS2, it would be more effective if the water position remain at East sector. Since WS7 can benefit with water. While NE with WS2 does not seem to benefit from a water position as there is already a BS1. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  22. 1. Planting an orange or lemon tree has more to do with modern western "practises" than traditional Feng Shui. 2. In addition, especially during the communist take-over of China, many Chinese fled to either Hong Kong, Taiwan, or Far East. 3. In the far east, especially in Singapore and Malaysia, the climate is too warm to support both orange and lemon trees. 4. You mentioned:".... it said something about husband will have a roving eye when you placewater feature on the right side (your inside looking outside)." I believe if you do a SEARCH in this forum, you can find lots of articles or past forum message(s) on this topic and/or check out some of the "preventive" meas…

    1. In my opinion, you have to weigh what I had mentioned earlier, such as:- 1.1. Sitting and Facing direction of stove to the female "boss" of the home 1.2. Sector in which the stove is in. 1.3. And other points that I had mentioned earlier on. 2. Traditionally, in the past, often the sink would "sit" higher than the stove. For example, the height of the stove is often at 34 inches while the sink is higher or greater than 34 inches to not more than 35 inches. This will coincide with the auspicious measurements found on the Feng Shui ruler. 3. However, in modern times (especially) in Singapore, where there are already more than 2,000 condos x at least 200 units on avera…
