Dear Johnny, In my opinion, two concepts are applied in your case: 1. If it cannot be seen, it no longer becomes a "threat". For example, for a threat, once it cannot be seen it no longer becomes a threat. 2. Although the `water' is not a real threat, the above concept can be applied here. 3. So far, I have yet come across a problem with water beds. 4. Concept 2: Since the water is encased, unlike gases, that evaporates, it would not be considered Sha Qi as those e.g. dangers of underground water i.e. http://www.geomancy.net/fs/under.htm 5. In the case of a fish tank, the water is not covered up and it can evaporate etc... The water is also in full view.. Warmest Regards,…

Dear Anon, Overall, there are many other considerations in analysing the home: 1. Shapes and Form School. Where possible, the home conforms to many of the good factors of the Shapes and Form theory. I know there are many. But in `defensive' FS, try to see if the house is a whole house e.g. few or no missing corners. In addition, check to see where the toliet locations are. They should not be located at the main entrance etc... 2. In terms of suitability of the house, yes, try as possible for it to be `suitable' to the breadwinner (usually it should be your husband). However, as mentioned under para 1, Shapes and Form can make or break, the luck of the house. 3. If the hou…

Dear Maverick, maverick ong wrote: I'm a strong yin metal person but my house main door facing directionis East (ie. wood element). How to resolve the conflict ? Clashes in your house facing element isn't really as bad as having a house falls in your death/disaster sector based on your eight house. This is because if your house faces your death or disaster sector, you cannot really correct this problem. As the house either suits you or not suits you. You just cannot force a house to be suitable to you. Just like if you bought some clothings, if it fits you can wear it, if not you have to get a bigger or smaller size clothes. Based on your ba zi, your element can be enh…

1. The apartment number analysis in this website is based on Vertical Flying StarFeng Shui. As the name "vertical" suggests, qi varies from different level(s) or stories (floor). 2. Since yours is a landed property, there is no precedence under Feng Shui or Geomancy on whether a number is auspicious or not. 3. You may have to consider other numerology assessment for the house no.

Dear Anon, 1. The symbolic method to making another main door is to place the house no. on that door instead of the `actual' main entrance door. 2. In my opinion, one can still use the other `main door' and it is not necessary to `seal' off that door. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Jen, Please see below:- Last year, I went out to buy various Ba Gua mirror. And created some resources under conference Photo Tours of Interest (with pictures) Please do a SEARCH under this conference for terms like " Ba Gua " or " convex " and you can visually see the different types of Ba Gua mirrors. Some mirrors are convex, concave, some have door gods on it, some have a lion with two swords in its mouth. Please take the effort to go thru these resources, first. Under the above resource, I have also indicated which type of Ba Gua mirror is normally being used. For those who wants to learn authentic Feng Shui should do more research, first. I personally on…

Dear Vijay, 1. It is best to apply a "pie chart" method instead of using a 9 x 9 grid in such a situation. 2. There are two types of Flying Star for the home/office:- 2.1 Horizontal Flying Star Feng Shui This is the common or regular 20 Year, Yearly, Monthly Flying Star Feng Shui based on the Luo Shu grid. Since it is applies to horizontal analysis, I have mentioned that if one wants to look at the external perimeter; than locate the centrepoint of the location. And by using the pie, one can either concentrate the pie sectors - to within the interior of the home/office or extend it out (i.e. literally continue to extend/draw the lines out.) 2.2 Vertical Flying Star Feng …

Dear Anon, Often, this mix of element analysis has more to do with name selection. For example, a grand father or father of a new born often will visit a Geomancer to select a name for the child. The geomancer will look at the mix of the new born's 5 elements. For example, in a similar case such as yours, you have excessive fire i.e. 55% fire in your "mix-of-chart". In such a senario, often, the geomancer will firstly, avoid selecting one of the characters say, in your name with an "earth" element. And for example, in your chart, wood is your wealth or if you have 0 percent wood in your chart; the geomancy could perhaps, add "wood" into your name. Therefore, hope you…

Dear Noe, 1. Thank you for bring up this interesting question. 2. To understand better, we can generally say that what you had mentioned is in my opinion like comparing "an Apple with an Orange." 3. This is because if one look carefully; what is `missing' from the understanding is the " TIME PERIOD ". 4. If one looks carefully at say the GUA number and how it has been derived, it is based on a person's YEAR OF BIRTH. While a proper and very complete Pillars of Destiny Chart comprises of:- YEAR, MONTH, DAY AND TIME OF BIRTH. (This four items is what we commonly call FOUR PILLARS) as each pillar is represented by one of the time periods i.e. Year, Month, Day and Time of b…

Dear Niap, Please see below:- Clear space at the frontage is an alternative to having a water position, here. If it is flown to Period 8, in my opinion, it may not be advantages to the male breadwinner as there will be problems if this sector is "uncured". Since there is an imbalance of too much fire x 2 times. Make sure that the room does not have too much wood (especially green) to further inflame it. Introducing earth element is a double edged sword, at this sector since, earth can fuel further bad metal (#7 theft/robbery star). The most effective element is water: Blue, black or grey at this sector. All users please don't simply copy what is the base, mountain…

Dear John, 1. Thanks for sharing with us the information. I have short write-up which I written quite sometime back on this. The URL is at: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/pakua.htm Please see below (my comments):- In my opinion, it is best not to `verify' what was written at another site but rather; I feel that it would be better to bring out two differing camps - the `issues' relating to this subject. And that, in my opinion there are no right or wrong answers. Ultimately, each of us, should form our own opinion. Yes, there are two opposing views: 1. One view is that it can be used to either ward off evil or used against `Sha Qi' or poison arrows. Within this camp, some…

Dear Vivek, Please see below:- Eight House is only one of the many concepts under Feng Shui. In my opinion, the top consideration is the Shapes and Form Feng Shui. If we give a total of 100 marks to Feng Shui, I would say that Shapes and Form Feng Shui can account to between 50 to around 60 percent of the overall luck of the house. For excellent houses, it can even account to 80 to 90 percent of the luck. Here, one do not even need Feng Shui and yet will be very lucky. Thus for an average house, the remainder 40 percent out of a possible 100 marks is allocated between e.g. Flying Star and Eight House Theory. Thus, if assuming Eight House takes 20 percent of the rest…

Dear Elizabeth, Usually, in most cases, the incidence of cancer may be associated with under water courses (hidden) below the ground. Check out this link:- http://www.geomancy.net/fs/under.htm Usually hanging crystals may not be a good solution. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Mr Low, One has to take extra care when using water positions in the home: 1. If the breadwinner's ba zi is weak fire or strong water element, water in a home can cause more problems. 2. Specifically, one must understand the two major purpose of the use of water: 2.1 In a real life water fall, it is because of the friction of water with air that brings beneficial results. 2.2 A water feature is useful to provide clear space for the frontage of a building. This is because, nothing else can be built above the water feature or pond i.e. providing clear space. 3. Normally, when placing a water feature outside of the house, check to see if the property is sloping or not.…

Dear Youqing, 1. Thank you for your sketch and clear description/details. 2. Based on Compass School Feng Shui, to me, it seems that it is unfavourable to have a pond at the location you had mentioned. 3. Given that you had shown the compass marking that the proposed pond is to be located somewhere at South-West. This is at the West/South-West sector which is at the `white tiger location'. 4. At the white tiger location, it is not advantages to have a pool as this could result in financial distress later on. 5. This is because, a pond your proposed kidney shaped facing the home looks much like a drooped or `sad' looking mouth. 6. Even if it is in the opposite direction…

Dear Anon, Usually there are two ways of looking at the colour scheme of a bedroom or room:- A simplistic view:- This is by way of checking the family member's ba zi element and strength. For example, if the child or person occupying the bedroom is a weak water person, then the best colour for the bedroom is based on two colours:- 1. Metal (white or gold) 2. Water (blue, black or grey) In the above example, the room can be painted in neutral white. And curtains or bedsheets in blue or say grey, in colour. In a higher dimension of Feng Shui, the Flying star Feng shui is also combined to look at the bedroom. For example, say the person who is staying in the bedroom…

Dear Sophia, Please see below:- It is more a concern than reality. Since the fridge is not known to emit any dangerous radiation or microwave. The only concern is with some fridge *touchwood* is the "heat" .... But given that there isasolid wall between the bed-head and the opposite side fridge, there is no issue, here. The worse "senario" is perhaps a neighbour of the same floor level hanging a (railway station, type of wall clock) facing our unit. Symbolically, the Chinese does not like to "give" a clock to others... Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear PG Tan, Please note that flying star though only uses numbers, has lots of theories and concepts. As such for one to truely know how to read the information, you will need to really take an indepth course on the flying star itself to fully understand how the interactions of each numbers will mean in different sectors. There isn't going to be any easy way to explain it. This is why on our website, we already provided the free flying star analysis whereby the key stars to take note are already colour coded so that you can tell whether a star is good or bad. For detailed, analysis, we have the paid version of the flying star which does all the analysis for you. In an…

Dear Jonathan, 1. There are different levels of `participation' in the use of Feng Shui. 2. Generally, if it is based on intuition, if it is new house, what is you and your family's initial impression of the house. 3. It is always good to make a few copies of your layout plan and discuss with your family members the layout and type of interior decor used. 4. The inclined towards intuitive or by feel. 5. Next, for D.I.Y. plot a template of each family member's Gua number. And you can use the Eight House Theory. 6. If you are familiar with Shapes and Form Feng Shui do apply this to your home. 7. Check for any poison arrows (if any) aimed at the main entrance or any windows.…

Dear Kayanna, 1. In my opinion, it is not be appropriate to apply `fixed' template Feng Shui to your home. 2. This is because, it is really hard to imagine that a particular sector is our money corner/sector or love/romance sector. 3. It is my believe and many other practitioners of traditional FS (although the methods may vary); not to depend on "paying homage" to sectors or corners. 4. In fact, I believe that if one is lucky to find a good or (reasonably good) house - i.e. with acceptable FS, this is already a plus point. 5. Fixed template " FS " does not take into consideration many of the vertical and horizontal analysis to analyse a house into components:- 5.1. Self …

Dear friends! I need advise about activating missing SW Sector in my appartment. Up to now I have found some tips about that. One of the tips, which Im intented to follow is - to display image of the goddess Kuan Yin in the SW angle of the dayroom. The problem is that I have pair of heating pipes in that angle( you can see that on the map) and also there is window next to the SW angle. Could you recommend me, on what height I should put the image of Kuan Yin? and what other rules I should follow? One more thing I'll put the image on ceramic tile.If you have any advices and tips or questions, I'll be very glad to see them! Thanks in advance!!!

Dear Jessia, Under the Eight House theory, there is not much one can do on this matter. Whenever, one spents time at.. However, it is best to take the view that the position of the table / chair should try to conform to Shapes and Form Feng Shui. And avoid any poison arrows `aimed' at it or sitting under a beam. Other considerations depending on your level of `application of' Feng Shui may include checking the sector for any imbalances using Flying Star and correcting it if any. This depends on whether you just want to use the basic " Eight house " or Shapes and Forms. Warmest Regards, Cecil
