Dear Anon, Often, this mix of element analysis has more to do with name selection. For example, a grand father or father of a new born often will visit a Geomancer to select a name for the child. The geomancer will look at the mix of the new born's 5 elements. For example, in a similar case such as yours, you have excessive fire i.e. 55% fire in your "mix-of-chart". In such a senario, often, the geomancer will firstly, avoid selecting one of the characters say, in your name with an "earth" element. And for example, in your chart, wood is your wealth or if you have 0 percent wood in your chart; the geomancy could perhaps, add "wood" into your name. Therefore, hope you…

Dear Leanne, In my opinion, your question is too general. To learn more you could either: 1. Purchase some starter books on Feng Shui. Majority of these books are of the Shapes and Form Feng Shui. It is best to apply either " Traditional Feng Shui " or " 9 Star-Ki " Feng Shui. I would sincerely recommend you not to touch any resources associated with "Black Hat Tantaric Sect" in short: BTB or books associated with `Lin Yun'. 2. You can also browse thru the Free resources in this forum where, it involves real people and real situations or if u have the time to go thru some of the resources at Geomancy.net. Best Wishes on your pursuit of Feng Shui. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, On your part, you can try to continue to have a reasonable communication with your husband. (Not based on yelling or screaming or on bad things). Sorry, I am not a counsellor, but usually, many times, couples with already two children can bring in your two children. Or try to reason the continual of the marriage for both your two children's sake. Please see below on Feng Shui issues:- Yes, there are many times when there is a direct path between the main door to the backyard area. I am not sure if the wood shutter covers can still allow air to flow freely from the main door to the back. If it is not `air-tight', there is still a leak from this area. Pe…

Dear Jeanette, A key success factor is to apply Flying Star Feng Shui. This is because under Flying star Feng Shui, if one can rightly activate the correct locations, this would be beneficial. On the contrary, activating the wrong sectors may bring worse consequence. For example, under Flying Star, if the water star #8 happens to be in a specific location at the living room, this would be very favourable for wealth. However, under Period 8, there are three distinctive numbers and their significance under Flying Star:- #8 = current prosperity. Here, there are two stars : the mountain MS#8 represents relationship/lottery luck; while WS#8 represents water wealth positi…

Upon shifting to a new house, I received 2 bad news within a month. Does that mean the feng shui of the house is not suitable or there are leaks? I consulted a feng shui master previously before all the renovations were done. Should I consult him again or wait till 6 months to see the actual effect.

Dear Kayanna, 1. In my opinion, it is not be appropriate to apply `fixed' template Feng Shui to your home. 2. This is because, it is really hard to imagine that a particular sector is our money corner/sector or love/romance sector. 3. It is my believe and many other practitioners of traditional FS (although the methods may vary); not to depend on "paying homage" to sectors or corners. 4. In fact, I believe that if one is lucky to find a good or (reasonably good) house - i.e. with acceptable FS, this is already a plus point. 5. Fixed template " FS " does not take into consideration many of the vertical and horizontal analysis to analyse a house into components:- 5.1. Self …

To the Chinese, it is unlucky to give especially someone: 1. A clock. 2. A pair of shoes. But since this is a watch.. it dwells more on beliefs or coincidences. But generally, it is felt that giving knives is not good since it is symbolic of sharp or pointed objects. Nevertheless, as relationships are built on communication, trust and interaction of the two parties, if you want to try to continue with your relationship, should perhaps, have a `hard to hard' talk with your ex-boyfriend and see how things goes.... Dear Kaushal, Flying Star cannot be analysed star by star. It should always be analysed as a combination of the two stars or best still the entire sector by itself. Often it is the 1-2-3, 6-2-4 etc, when the stars come together then you can analyse the whether they are auspicious and then provide a cure, activation etc to activate it etc. For example even if 8 mountain is not a bad star. However, if it comes with number 5 it becomes an inauspicious sector. But if it comes with 1 for example, it will be considered a little better. So if you only based on the star 8 and want to make activation etc without carefully considering the other stars in the sector you will only do…

Dear Susan, In my opinion, this is a rudimentary way of looking at analysing Ba Zi. Overall, what you did does not take into considerations:- harms, punishments, double and triple combinations of elements (which some are good while others are not favourable to one's element. Basic Ba Zi also includes, the Year, Day, Month, Hour of birth. But professional Ba Zi has to include not only the above but also two other pillars : House of Life and House of Conception. Perhaps, you can learn more about what Full Ba Zi analysis looks like under this url:- http://sg.geomancy.net/consultation/consult-others/fullbazianalysis.htm Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Dragana, Please see below:- Some Feng Shui practitoners say that South-West is the romance sector. In my opinion, this is too general. As it implies that every house on the planet has e.g. a love corner at a spot marked `X'. However, there is relatively no harm in placing a pair of mandarin duck. The only `harm' is that one burns an unnecessary `hole' in the pocket. The one who ultimately gains is the seller of such highly marked up products - that's all. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Amanda, Amanda rattray wrote: I recently moved in to a new home, lost my job, and my relationship in the same week. Because of this, I startedreading about feng shui. I discovered that my Kua number is 1 and my bedroom is in ( i believe, if i used the compass correctly the north east sector of my home. This is also an inauspicious location of Wu Kwei. I am unable to change my room as i live with roomates. Is there anything that i can do? Unfortunately, if your problems is because the home does not suit you (ie facing direction & bedrooms). Then in the long run, the only solution is to move out to a better home. There is simply just no cure for a house that does …

Dear Chloe Lin, 1. Yes, it is not a good idea to use a urn. 2. Since the cul de sac is basically of the `metal element' i.e. imagine it as a metal sickle / knife slicing into your home, a better controlling item is red as mentioned earlier to you. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: My main door is facing south and my apartment is not square, what is the best way I can fine the auspecious location to activate? By the way my apartment was completed in year 2000. It is really hard to advise without any layout to view what exactly you mean. However, for any of the odd shapes layout there are usually a few ways to apply feng shui:- 1. ie find the center influence of the entire layout, then treat those missing areas as missing sectors of the house or treat some of the sectors as a protrusion. 2. ie divide the layout into two portions to apply the feng shui. especially for L shaped apartments. You can find some example in…

Dear Peck Wun, Since you are considered the breadwinner, it is good for the stove to orientate a good position for the breadwinner. In such a situation, since you are a weak fire person, orientating the stove to the east is a good option for you. Since east facing represents wood element. Where wood element will help fire element to grow. However, it is important to take note of the following:- If your stove is facing east, and if it so happens that your main door is located at west, then, it is best to use stove knobs that face upwards i.e. towards the sky. And avoid having a stove with the knobs at the side of the stove facing west wards. However, if the main door is l…

1. Most professional Feng Shui practitioners apply both Shapes and Forms and Compass School Feng Shui. 2. As the name suggests, Compass School Feng Shui needs the "correct" compass direction of a home. And under this school we have the Eight House Theory and the Flying star Feng Shui. 2.1. Once the compass direction of a home is known, the interior chart can be looked at for the 20 year Feng Shui as well as yearly Feng Shui. 3. If one lives in a landed property; there are instances where neighbours move out, resold or renovate their home. Often changes to the neighbourhood would affect the Feng Shui of a landed property. In such a situation, one can still e.g. take pic…

Dear Lora, In your situation, you can place two plants on each side of your entrance door to create a `triangle effect' with the tree. From a top down view, it would show as a triangle profile; where the tip of the triangle, points away from the house. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Jeanette, 1. It is good to understand that, as a guide, a missing corner should be one where there is a 33.3 percent missing `area' in a specific sector. Here, the home is sub-divided in 9 equal divisions or a 3 x 3 grid. 2. It is good to examine, whether it is really a missing corner or a protrusion. As different `treatment'/intrepretation is used. 3. If there is a missing corner in the home and the house is a: 3.1 Landed property If it is a landed property, an outline of the `missing area' or boundary can be created outside the house. A top-view will then show that the missing area has been outlined by a boundary. The boundary can be shrubs, fencing or layout on …

Dear Berna, I cannot `blame' you for being confused with so many " Types " of Feng Shui. Especially since, there are lots of sites nowadays using Black Hat Sect " stuffs ". In my opinion, any other `styles' are much better than applying Black Hat Sect. In Traditional Feng Shui there are principally two major schools- a. Shapes and Forms Feng Shui b. Compass School (Such as Flying Star and Eight House). As much as we would like to apply Feng Shui as fast as we can, it is best to understand the rationale for each School and try to understand the basics. For Shapes and Form Feng Shui, you can tour the resources in this site or simply get a book on Shapes and Form Feng Shui.…

Dear Grace, 1. In my book Applied Feng Shui Made Easy, Page 58; I have listed two formulas that are applicable even in 2000 and more. One of the formula (Method 2) is: - Take the year of birth = 00 - Add the last two digits to get a single number = 0 - Add 5 to this single number - Add two digits to a single numer. this wil be your daughter's Gua no. For example: Born in 2000 0 + 0 = 0; 5 + 0 = 5; 0 + 5 = 5. Your daughter's Gua number is = 5. 2. Another easier method is to goto www.geomancy-online.com and generate a Free Gua Report. The Free generated Gua Report available at the above link also confirms that your daughter's Gua no. is 5. " Your Gua (Kua) Number No. 5 Gua…
