The belief is that if one has a ship painting, it should not be of a stormy weather where it may imply that the ship may be caught in a tidal wave or storm and sink. 3. Dear Anon, If the pair of hands are stretched out in a `receiving' position, it would not be `auspcicious' unless the hands hold something. A pair of `empty' hands symbolises e.g. begging, and if they are really in this `position' then, best not to display it at all. Dear James, Apologise for the late reply, this mail was apparently not sent to my e-mail account. Personally, I feel that there is actually no need to purchase special amulet or ornaments for yourself or your home. It is equally effective to use any simple remedy, so long as it suits your personal element. For example, if you are a weak water, then using metal (such as any necklace, etc) would bring you luck. Hi I'm new to feng shui and thought I would ask your advise as we moved into our new apartment which has a beautiful palm tree outside the back balcony which I am hoping is not bad feng shui. Here there are a few considerations:- 1. You can always create a `solid backing' behind the house by having a fence. Good `fencing' includes materials like brick walls, fence with creepers.
