Hello Cecil Thanks once again for the very informative advice on the 7th month period. I am indeed very grateful and count my blessing to be on your subscription list of members. I am sure all members should feel very lucky to have such a good Master as yourself to respond to our Feng Shui needs especially in these bad times. Hope you have a good weekend ! Best rgds Myra Dear Myra, 1. I am pleased that you found the website enjoyable. 2. Typically, just before the 7th month, many Chinese clients seek to finalize their layouts and symbolically commence the renovation of their new home. (Before the 7th month, which commences on 9…

  2. Asians are familiar with this plant. As it's essence is used to flavour Nonya cakes and used in many deserts and there is even a pandan cake. Some Singapore Taxi drivers and even Singaporeans place a bunch of this pandan plant in their car. To them, it is believed that cockroaches dislike this plant and thus is used as a natural method of getting rid of roaches in a home or car. To many from overseas, they may find this smell as pungent as smelling the local durian fruit. The family name of this plant is: Pandanaceae and it's common name is called fragrance pandan. This plant is relatively easy to grown in a home. And is also one of the all time favourites of hous…

Dear Anon, Frankly, I have this to say: 1. Users or practitioners want to `play safe' and advise to use more not less. 2. One must remember that everything is about balance. I have seen lots of cases where even some practitioners advise their clients to place so many `cures' or remedies that resulted in their clients going into problems. I do not wish to see users here `falling' into such problems. 3. I have also advised users to follow the Customer Engineer Concept, where if you are using `cures' to use them selectively or not to use too many at a time. Else you may not be sure of what to do next. 4. Under the Five Elements concept, wood is used to destroy earth (concre…

  5. Common sense (Cs) 1. The concept of "Common sense" takes precedence over Feng Shui in various aspects. For instance, the visibility factor plays a crucial role. Leaving the toilet door open may not be considered appropriate as it can be unpleasant to see inside a toilet or toilet bowl. However, some individuals, particularly young boys and men, may not mind it. The scenario changes if an attractive girl is using the toilet with the door slightly ajar. Common sense & more Cs 2. Another common-sense consideration is the direction in which the toilet door opens. It is recommended for the door to open inwards, while sliding or folding doors are …

  6. Please note that these procedures are not cast in stone. The earlier attachment is some of the more common practises collectively by various dialect groups in Singapore. If it seems inconvenient to you then simply : "Don't do it". There is no encyclopedia Britannia on such customs. And common sense says that if the surrounding area has e.g. smoke detectors then either use smokeless charcoal or skip this step. There is no right or wrong answers, here. Even some mother's boy would consult their mum or their grand-parent on such or additional procedures. Like Singapore's former Foreign Minister says... "go with (your own) flow". You don't have to follow what was written in …

    1. Thanks for making the effort to post the photos! Many Thanks! 2. In my opinion; I also personally feel that the zig zag staircase at the "frontage" does not seem to have good Shapes and Forms Feng Shui: http://forum.geomancy.net/upload/Staircase%20Zig%20Zag.JPG 3. The above can be considered as a or ONE major leak. And the above link is not common and in plain sight is considered "quite ugly" and contributes to bring down the "luck of the home/apartment. 4. In order usually to have bad Feng Shui, a home and it's surroundings combined often need to have around 2 to 3 or more major "leaks". Anyway, this is beyond this free general advice forum. 5. Things like the straigh…

Dear Anon Please see attached sketch for a better understanding of a poison arrow aimed at the main door. Apologies for the rough sketch. Just look at the concept. Here there are two issues: 1. the narrow corridor where the lift faces the main door. This is Sha Qi and can be cured with two plants placed strategically at the location. 2. I did not properly draw the angle at which the corridor aims at the main door but if it does it is a poison arrow. Warmest Regards, Cecil Lee

I have confession to make! Frankly, such Shapes and Forms questions is about using one's sight to make judgements. And what happens when the key ingredient: visual sight or pictures or photos are missing? Very vague generalisation to often, it is better not to reply to these questions. The major fear is mis-interpretation of information. Therefore, especially Shapes and Forms or postings that are always text only ...hmmmm... what can I say!

Dear Users, I would like to add further on this matter. Let me relate it to why I always stress that when an individual lack a certain element, one of the best cures is to come into constant contact with the related element, such as using colour. This relates to my elder brother. He is basically a weak wood, and lacks lots of water and in the past he did not really believe much about Feng Shui. We told him that his favourable type of element is water, which means that his likely favourate colours are blue, black and grey. And true enough, when he started to believe in Feng Shui, he purchased a pond and started to rare koi in the living room (but also note that is was plac…

Dear James, There are several factors with regards to a garage above the master bedroom: 1. The height of the garage in relation to the Master bedroom. Higher the better. 2. Nowadays, this is ranked low when compared to a house that meets proper Feng Shui concepts such as the Four Symbolic Animal Theory where the back of the house should have a solid backing and the front - clear space etc... What is also more important is the position of the toilet e.g. it should not be above the main entrace, or next to the main entrance. 3. After reading the above, a garage below a bedroom is thus of `low' priority. Why some FS books or authors say that it is inauspicious to have a ga…

  13. About the drainage. First thing to look at is from the common sense point of view:- 1. It is good to cover the round hole with a simple plastic drainage cover like those found in most home toilet or bath area. 2. It is good to cover the drain. As some have pets and don't want a cat or other animals falling into the drain. Or likewise, allow rats to come from that area. Frankly, in a Can or cannot buy decision making stuff. Feng Shui has few things to look at. And several tools need to be used. To determine a drainage good or not, you got to check the flow of the drainage and where it exits.

    1. In general, many people perceive a temple as a "depository". For example, it can be a depository of hope i.e. people go into the temple to pray or seek help from the gods... 15. Dear Master, thank you very much for your advice. My interior designer has a very interesting idea in the altar design, but I am doubtful about its appropriateness, and would like to seek your advice again. 1. Per my request, she located the Altar in location "A". However, she had the altar designed with transparent (glass) backing, and is about 6" away from the wall (there is a gap between the back of Altar and Wall). Is this acceptable? The Altar sits on top of the TV console too. 2. In seconddesign option, she had it made like a rectangular box that is wall mounted (suspended)in location "B". There is a spot light above the buddha. Is this acceptable? 3. The 3rd option…

Dear Peck Wun, Please see below:- If you want to, you can check out the Paid Auspicious date report at http://www.geomancy-online.com. Specific for analysing good dates for the breadwinner for which will recommend dates such as Very Auspicious, Auspicious, Average, Mixed blessings and to avoid. From the dates provided, you can plan dates for: start of renovation; symbolic move-in date and actual move-in date. It is recommended that a "symbolic move-in" date be selected AFTER completion of renovations. It is ok if one does not have any `old furniture to bring in.' The purpose of having a symbolic move-in date is that it is then not so rush to move-in on a particula…

Hi there, i apolize for shouting at you, i didn't know. In your reply, about option 2 and option1, the garage or bedroom, that is the kids livingroom. I have 3 living areas, and 4 bedrooms. The front door area, is marked front, and the back door is marked back. But, i have a negative area outside the house, which would make up the rectangle that my house would have been. This area is the Helpful people area. I have read in the book to put a spotlight or some kind of light in that area, so the light is aimed back at the house to illuminate and bring energy to the area. Is this the correct thing to do, and i am also in the process of planting 2 Foxtail fern palm trees, hal…

    1. Frankly, applying Numerology is a catch-22 situation. 2. There are so many various methods of Numerology and also some combined it with "phonetic" sound like... "4" Cantonese regard as death etc... 3. There are Chinese methods, Indian methods, and many other cultures also have their methods. 4. Thus, would you want to hear "50-50" of the time, some one telling you this number is BAD! Then later, hear from another it is good! 5. 25. Dear Anon, There are currently 3 formula available to calculate the Gua Number:- Method 1 Male Calculation - Subtract the last two numbers of your year of birth from 100 and divide by 9. - The remainder is the number of your Gua. - If there is no remainder, you should take the Gua number 9. For Example: Born in 1970, 100 - 70 = 30 30 divided by 9 = 3 remainder 3 Your Gua number is 3 Females Calculation - Subtract 4 from the last two numbers of your year of birth and divide by 9. - The remainder is the number of your Gua. - If there is no remainder you should take the Gua number 9. For Example: Born in 1970 70 - 4 = 66 66 divided by 9 = 7 remainder…
