Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: In hunting for an apartment, is high-rise or low-rise building better? Is there anything to do with qi flow? In general, higher floors are generally more popular because firstly it gives a good view (usually unblocked by other flats). Also, under flying star above 7th floor onwards, it is always said that your frontage (usually the living room/balcony) contains virtual water (open space). Thus, usually higher floor is more popular. As for whether which is better in terms of Feng Shui, you have to really check out the environment in relation to the unit to determine which is better. Doesn't mean that lower floor means not as good. Some low flo…

Dear Anon, 1. This year and next year based on the Lunar Calendar:- This year: 24 Jan 2001 to 11 Feb 2002 Next year: 12 Feb 2002 to 31 Jan 2003 We have to remember that the above dates should be considered instead of the start of each year. Thus `next year' does not start on 1 January 2002 but rather the first day of Chinese New Year or 12 February 2002. Please see below:- This year (2001 - refer to Para 1), which is the year of the Snake, the Grand Duke or Tai Su is located at South-South-East or 150 degrees. The location in conflict is the East. Next year (2002 - refer to Para 1), this is the year of the Horse. or South, 180 degrees. The location in conflic is the N…

Dear Allison, Under Traditional Feng Shui, the two major schools used are: 1. Shapes and Form 2. Compass School (Eight House & Flying Star) In my opinion, the most accurate Feng Shui is the use of (Para 1 and 2) in combination with one's Ba Zi (Pillars of Destiny) - in particular one's element and strength. 3. This is what is know as Ba Zi Feng Shui. It is widely used system as it is considered the most accurate. As it not only takes into account " Feng Shui " of the house but it also takes into account the persons who intent to live or are currently living in the house. 4. For a start, the key word is `protect, protect, protect'. You should stand at your main entran…

Dear Gayle, 1. Basically, the Eight House theory or East/West group of persons are but just one of the several concepts in Feng Shui. 2. Overall, one can say that this theory looks at: 2.1 how suitable the house is to e.g. the breadwinner. 2.2 Other areas that can be looked at is the intangible force at the bedroom location. 3. In my opinion, this concept or theory does not really have a `cure' for the above situation. This should normally not worry anyone - yet. 4. Foremost, we should look closely that an important consideration i.e. Shapes and Forms Feng Shui. If you site and home has good feng shui, or even to `excellent' status, then, the Eight House is just a small f…

Dear Ajay, 1. What you mentioned is a simplistic view of Feng Shui. 2. Unfortunately, this type of Feng Shui is can best be described as `Kindergarten Feng Shui'. 3.These statements are too generalised. As it seems to be a model mass produced for the entire world. 4. For example, there is no basis to say that all NE directions is the knowlege area for all people, all over the world. A similiar example is that some Feng Shui practitioners highlight that South-West is our romance sector. This is not possible for everyone in the entire world. Please see below:- The more appropriate way to look at the issue is:- 1. The sector evaluated under Flying Star Feng Shui. 2. If o…

When applying the Compass School of Feng Shui or taking reference of each direction; one should locate the center-of-gravity of the home. From this centrepoint, locate the west compass direction (270 degrees). This will be the direction of The Grand Duke/Tai Sui of a site or home. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Wasis, Yes, even in the internet, it is very common to find a windchime with silver (hollow) rods of different lengths. Here, the top roof or the top support roof can be made of wood. And the `clinger' can be made of wood. It is best not to have red on the windchime. As you are correct to say that red (fire) will control metal and at the same time increase the bad earth element. Dear Anon, In my opinion, it is best to look at "fatal" problems under the following perspective: 1. Often, fatal problems especially those that lead to financial loss does not come alone. For example, a toilet at the main entrance is considered as - already a handicap. This is akin to one having a fractured leg. 2. It would become worse especially if the house does not fit the breadwinner. Plus other additional leaks. Such as additional toilets at the centrepoint etc... 3. Another issue is that a toilet has connecting sewer and water pipes. And especially if one is living in an apartment, it is difficult or impossible to move a toilet. Therefore, when I mentioned `fatal…

Dear Anon, Stand at the window(s) to see if the tree trunk slices into the home? If no, this is not a threat to your home. This can be seen as a "commonsense" approach. Often a dead tree is prone to rot / termites (if any). And because of this issue, it can be considered unhealthy. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Hi Anon, Yes. The Auspicious Date for 12 months uses tong shu and ba zi to find suitable dates to an individual. Included in the package is 1 Yearly Report which allows you to generate a yearly auspicious to show you which months are better and which dates in the month are auspicious or inauspicious. The Monthly Report does more in-depth analysis into a particular month. You are given 12 credits to allow you to find generate 12 different months for a single person, or 12 different months for 12 persons. How you use the credit is up to you. All you need is the Name, Gender, Date of birth, optional (Time of Birth), and which the month and year you are generating for. Hope t…

  11. Dear Anon, 1. In my country, I do encounter several old houses such as bangalow houses i.e. over 100 years old that has been transformed into quad or duplex houses. 2. In one such house, it became `sunken' in relation to other developments around it i.e. new buildings next to it on higher raised ground. In this particular house (or quad-units) the house is considered `entrapped' and surrounded by taller more modern buidlings surrounding it. From my personal observations of the house, for the past 5 years: 1. The owner of one particular unit at the ground level (entrapped house) had difficulty trying to find a buyer for it. 2. Progress for the breadwinner was slow and whil…

Dear Anon, 1. From my past and present experience, I found that many owners who had moved into such homes e.g. especially with toilet positions in `bad' locations. 2. I am not sure if it is a coincidence, but, in many situations, many of such owners have problems with their finances. Especially also if there are equally poor Shapes and Forms. This is my main concern. 3. In fact, just this month alone, I have done on-site Feng Shui audit and again (if this is a coincidence): many of the owners who had such `problems' encounter financial problems. Most of the time, it is compounded with other Shapes and Forms problems. 4. Two months ago, a past client, had success in his …

Dear Madan, If the Flying Stars are ok at this sector; since the person is a weak metal person; it is best to harmonize the room to this person's element. Thus, for a weak metal person, the best element to help him/her is "earth" element (yellow, cream or beige). This is the best "boost" as earth helps to fuel or increase weak metal. Another element that is favourable to this person is `metal' which is white or gold. Therefore, as you had mentioned if this sector is balanced and if there are no bad #5 or #2 earth stars here, then the best colour for the bedroom is cream or beige i.e. on the walls. And we can also harmonise this room by adding metal e.g. white or `gold' c…

Dear Dinesh, Thank you for your photos. 1. Please see attachment 2. Given the situation, you should place a wind chime at location marked A. 3. And see if you can remove the shelving under marking B. 4. Area of wealth A scientific method is to apply Flying Star Feng Shui to activate wealth luck and relationship luck. For example, under Period 7 house, one can activate #7 water star (with water) - if the location is possible to improve on wealth. Under Period 7 also, #7 mountain star location can also be activated for relationship luck. And also try to balance all the Flying star areas. Warmest Regards, Cecil 1. Dear Gray Thay, Gary Thay wrote: I brought HDB unit in period 7 and I painted all the Ceiling in 2004, does that put my unit into Period 8 ? So it will take time (sometimes 1 year) for your house Qito convert to the period 8. Hi Penny / Master Cecil Thanks your interest. Looking at the whole block is also quite confusing as the lift lobby is facing South, looking out at a carpark, not very bright. When I try taking South as the facing, I go back to my unit, South is the kitchen area, quite dark (less sunlight comes in here) and looks more like the back than the front. Hence I have to seek advice from Master Cecil as to where is the actual facing. What happens if my facing is my neighbours' sitting direction as point block is a square, all 4 corners has a unit. Master Cecil, would greatly appreciate your advice. Best Regards Em free-advice Listmanager wrote: From: "Emily Ho" Dear Master Ce…

Dear Derek, If you are taking the compass direction of your unit's main entrance door, this should usually be the door to your unit i.e. as you had mentioned it should be the `North'. Usually, taking the exterior door direction is meant more for analysing e.g. a building rather than the unit itself. If you still require help, you can upload a sketch of the layout for my comments. Dear Anon, Please see below:- Congratulations on your new home! In general, it is always prudent to look at `weaknessess' if any of a new home. Prior to making enhancements. This is usually the key success factor. Try to make sure that your main entrance door is protected. (Usually, there is no threats to the main entrance). But, there is no harm doing a `preventive audit'. Such as looking out of the main door and from all windows of the home. Check for poison arrows e.g. lamp posting slicing thru the main door or window(s) or other threats. Is there a direct path of `air flow' from the main door directly out at the opposite end? As mentioned, there is really no …

Dear Susan, 1. Some geomancers or users simply consider only the Year of birth. While others consider both Year and Month of birth. 2. While others look at Year, Month, Day and Time of birth. Here (geomancy.net); the House of Life and House of Conception are also considered. 3. One of the rationale is besides other considerations; the more variables i.e. stems and branches, the more we can analyse any double or triple combination clashes. These clashes sometimes are unfavourable: while other clashes are favourable. 4. House of Life or how `hard' is one's life or if one was born with a silver spoon is another consideration that can sway one's element e.g. weak water to str…

Dear Anon, Yes, based on your description, your house is a S2 or S3 house has double 8's at the frontage under Period 8. You can indeed take the opportunity to fly to Period 8 for your home to take advantage of the very auspicious double 8's. For the centre, since there is a combination of #4 with #3, yes, you can brighten this staircase landing. In my opinion, the easiest and most cost effective are to replace approximately 6 to 8 roof tiles above this stairwell with the transparent / translucent plastic type of roof tile. If you do this, the only caution, is to avoid placing any single mid-sized plant at the lift landing, to avoid forming the inauspicous word "Kun" at t…

Dear Kim, Apologies, this site does not discuss BTB methods. As far as I am aware, there are no practitioners in the Far East and in Hong Kong or Taiwan practising such things. It is felt that BTB is a modern marketing invention by one man. If you are apply Compass School methods i.e. The Eight House or Flying Star Feng Shui, then, do look at how the main entrance door is been surveyed using the following example/link:- http://www.geomancy.net/fs/cecilcompass.htm Under Flying Star Feng Shui, this is the method used:- 1. Even if one does not make use of the main entrance door, so long as the door has a house number, one should also try to draw a Flying Star Chart to analy…

  23. Dear Anamika, For application of colours, it is advisable: 1. If one is not sure what colours to use, then neutral colours can be used. For example white or pastel shades (light shades) should be used for both interior and exterior walls. 2. It does not matter if the exterior wall is facing east and therefore, we assume that the inner wall is facing west. We should instead consider that sector as being in the `east'. Here, we should look at both this external wall and interior wall as located in the east than to say that one side face east while the other faces west. 3. If one uses, Feng Shui, the colour of the room walls should preferably be painted to suit the element …

Dear Rebecca, Usually, we should take the shape of crystals based on various shapes that we like and thus wear them. Overall, there are so many different shapes and designs and it is quite difficult to place them into specific categories. Dear Zan, For many years now, usually, you should be able to purchase the 2005 Chinese alamanac during the Chinese 7th Lunar month. Since this is often the time, the publication comes out of Hong Kong to Singapore. (Usually, you should be able to buy this 2005 alamanac from middle of August 2004 onwards. And once it is out, you can easily buy it from any HDB neighbourhood incense shop). If you can wait until then, no issue. Alternatively, you can check out our Auspicious date service:- http://www.geomancy.net/products/po-dates/po-dates.htm Warmest Regards, Cecil
