Dear Peck Wun, If the figurine looks ambigious, it is best to cover it first, especially if it is an old furniture. Overall, if the figurine is not facing directly towards the bed but facing outwards, there is, in my opinion, not a real concern. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Peck Wun, Usually, in many instances, the auspicious time is based on: 1. phonetic sounding of the numbers. For example, common timing would include:- 8.x8 am where the time has an 8 (in Cantonese `Fatt' or auspiciousness) 8.x9 am where the time has a 9 (9 sounds like longevity). or 9.x8 am or 9.x9am The above timings are nice sounding and also:- 2. They are yang hours of the day. For example, the thing to do is to insert the key into the wooden main door and wait for such a time e.g. 8.28am or 8.29am and then once this is ok, open the door.... If you are moving in the afternoon, avoid moving in after 3.00pm. As this is considered closer to `Yin' timing. …

Dear Lola, I glad that you find the information in the website useful. Please see below:- It is best that Qi can meander rather than go off directly thru and out of the house. If you do not see a direct path from the main door to the back, this is acceptable. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  4. Dear Jacqueline, Usually, if you can obtain, a natural dried out bottle gourd i.e. brown in colour. Is it possible to obtain this type of bottle gourd. Try to find the above first before, using others such as jade or silver - if possible. Although, this two type can be used. Between this two (jade or silver) `metal' silver is preferred over jade. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Jasmine, In fact, there are other comments that I had not mentioned about space above a garage: 1. Let's take an example of a building on stilts or stilt type legs. Where the building is above the ground. Some FS practitioners say that an occasional bad spirit may pass trough the stilted legs of the building, they are said to attack the weakest parts of the building which are the corners of the support beams/legs. 2. Some feel that because there is emptyness below, the structure may not support the entire room upstairs. (This is absurd unless, there is severe structural problem or poor construction material used). 3. There are many of such stories relating to this. …

Dear Jasmine, Ideally, it is good if the house can face good directions of both parties. But as you had mentioned, one person is the `East' house while the other is the `West' house. "Unfortunately" in Feng Shui, there is a consideration: Who is the breadwinner? In traditional Feng Shui, (like almost everywhere in the world); the breadwinner is often assumed as the man of the house. Or the male figure. Even today, we still often consider the male (husband) as the breadwinner unless: the husband is not working or a house-maker. Or if the male's salary is far below that of the female. In the bedroom, even if one partner's sector is not so good, (if possible) the partner wh…

Dear Nguyen, Please see below:- If you can attach a layout plan, I can help you confirm the direction. Under the Eight House Theory, there is no solution or cure. It is best to look at other theories e.g. Flying Star Feng Shui. Yes, she can sleep in the spook bedroom. But, for husband and wife, it is best for both of you to sleep in the same bedroom. You can sleep closer to the sector and she sleeps further away (if this is possible). I am sorry. I am confused with some of the directions you had mentioned. Perhaps, a sketch can help. Overall, it is still best to have the placement of the bed based on good shapes and forms Feng Shui. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Jasmine, This is based on `commonsense' rather than Feng Shui. For example, it is said that it is best not to have a bedroom above the kitchen. The rationale is because, the kitchen is where we usually do our cooking. And there may be a remote possiblity that a fire may accidentally break out in the kitchen. (Higher probability). In such a situation, as fire travels upwards, the room above the kitchen would most likely be the first to be affected. It is the same as the garage. Here, it was felt that usually the garage may include some boxes of flammable material or used as a storage. Alternatively, some people feel that the vehicle, may catch fire. I feel that this…

Dear Jacuqeline, In my opinion, perhaps, the breakdown of electrical appliances may be a coincidence. Especially if it is a rented place and is not most of the items are not new. Perhaps, it is best to monitor the situation, first. Since you are new to Feng Shui, do try to read up more - especially on the Shapes and Forms Feng Shui. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  10. Dear Emy, Usually, there could be more with regards to bad Feng Shui of the house. It is best to confirm if there are any more `leaks' e.g. try standing at the main door and each window and look out. Check for any other threats e.g. angle or poison arrow(s) aimed at your home. Also, any Shapes and Forms problems with regards to the site, land and home. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Wasis, 1. Earlier, we had seen how Wood threat can be neutralised. 1.1 It is similar in concept to all other elements. For example, if there is a Fire threat:- Two methods can be used: Do you want to neutralise the threat using the Productive or Destructive cycle approach? 1.2 Method 1: (Productive cycle method) ============= Fire can be neutralised (balanced) by introducing Earth and Metal. Where, fire (threat) is used to produce earth. Since there is abundance of earth, earth is used to produce metal. Thus, this is a three element flow. 1.3 Method 2: (Destructive cycle approach) ============= This is similar to your earlier worry that the second element introduced…

Dear Lina, In Feng Shui, it is easier done if this is a landed property i.e. placing a lamp at a corner of the missing area or to do landscaping. Where, a top view would show the missing corner being `landscaped' with e.g. potted plants or a grass field covering it. But in an apartment, the two most common ways are:- 1. If it is possible, one side of the missing corner can be placed with a mirror. But do take note the conditions for placement of the mirror:- - If this is the bedroom location, it is best not to have the mirror reflect towards the bed. - Never use two `split' pieces of mirror. - An alternative (some FS practitioners) suggest is to place a wooden wind chime…

  15. Dear Diana, In my opinion, most of us, would face the same sort of problems. Especially if a house has not being looked into, prior to the purchase. Sometimes, even if we activately seek to find a good house, eventually, the bedroom may not be suitable. Or, one of the partners is either a East or West group persons. From the many cases, I personally feel that, no matter how, one should get the Shapes and Forms correct in the first instance. The overriding consideration is based on the Shapes and Forms Feng Shui. And once this is good both external and internal, it is better than trying to fit oneself in a `Eight House' dilemma. So far, there is no basis (from what I know)…

  17. Dear Matthew, 1. I would assume that your parents may not want to spent too much money in the improvement of the basement. 2. Basically, you can go down to using the Yin and Yang concept as a starting point. 3. Here, you may have to ask yourself the question: "Do I sleep and work at the basement. Or both". 4. Since this is the basement, assuming that there is minimal light, it is best to have light coloured walls (to brighten up) the basement. 5. More yin suggests, more rest. But if you need to study or do work at the basement, then, have a balance of both yin and yang. 6. If there is natural light coming into the basement, do take advantage of this. 7. More importantly, …

Dear Diana, In my opinion, there is no evidence or detailed studies done on the situation faced by you. Although, it is not good to have such a hole especially if it collects stagnant water (for a few days). As mentioned, frankly, there is not much documented cases of bad feng shui relating to your situation. If one's current situation is not that good and in the immediate future, you do not intend to build a pool, it is best to see if it can be leveled. This is part of the process of trying to fix `leaks' if you have already done all you can within the home premises. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Kathy, It is best to find out where is the frontage of your house, first. In some homes, although the main door can be at one side of the house; but in some instances, you may have the `back' of the house as your `frontage'. For example, there are homes facing the sea. In such a situation; one may have a road leading to the main door. But, all the view is at the `back' or frontage of the house. If one's home is of this situation, then, there is no issue. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Hi! Cecil,Thanks for your reply.I hope I have put my questions clearly this time. The room is located East and I draw a flying star chart period 7 main door facing S2 172.5 to 187.5 and the star in the East section, are 5 base star and 5 Mountain 9 Facing Star. ( I think?) The Bread winner's Kua is 8. and he sleeps in a North room. Please could you tel me what should I do for the room in the East? The person in that room has Kua 7. My main worry is that the room in the East doesn't have good stars. Also one more question how do you find out what is a good Mt & water star and what is bad. Thanks, Regards.

  23. Dear Anon, In my opinion, your cornice do not pose poison arrow as it is usually made of gpysum board. The height from the ceiling to the ground is quite a distance away. They are multiple (3) and long as opposed to a pointed edge. I personally feel that there is no issue in the type of cornice mentioned. Although the preference is for a simpler design. Dear Kathy, 1. Frankly, it is better to place your bed in a good Shapes and Forms position. 2. Some examples of favourable/unfavourable bed positions can be seen under this url:- http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-bedroom.htm 3. Many of us, do have `opposites'. And it is best that the person who has more auspicious influence sleep closer to that intangible force. While, the partner sleeps further away. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Nathalie, In Feng Shui, there are two concepts:- 1. study facing a good direction. You can use the free Feng Shui report to look at it. However, caution is that it is always better to have the study table position based Good Shapes and Forms than (para 1 i.e. nice to have). For example, if the best direction is to place the study table next to the bedroom door; this may be distracting to your eldest son even if the direction is good! 2. Another traditional idea is that if it window of the bedroom open out and to the right (a distance away); there is a tall e.g. tower, this signifies, scholaristic achievement. Many FS practitioners encourage the placement of a small f…
