Dear Rebecca, Usually, we should take the shape of crystals based on various shapes that we like and thus wear them. Overall, there are so many different shapes and designs and it is quite difficult to place them into specific categories. The shapes you mentioned, heart, star are usually worn symbollically as a decor linked perhaps to `romance' or love. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Derek, If you are taking the compass direction of your unit's main entrance door, this should usually be the door to your unit i.e. as you had mentioned it should be the `North'. Usually, taking the exterior door direction is meant more for analysing e.g. a building rather than the unit itself. If you still require help, you can upload a sketch of the layout for my comments. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Thank you for your clarification. 1. Techically, what I said was correct. However, a mountain star (if it is found) should be activated instead at the back portion of the house. For example, in your situation, where you had mentioned that you have activated a mountain over the `frontage'. Do remove the `mountain' at the frontage even if it is on the second storey. Symbolically, it is not corret to do so. We do not want a mountain blocking our `water' or clear space. A mountain star (if found) should be activated e.g. on the opposite wall from this position or any other walls that are at the back facing. Warmest Regards, Cecil

I have read with interest the various questions sent to the forum recently regarding Windchimes, Coins, Eight Life Aspirations etc. etc. and would like to tell my story. In 1997 I became interested in FS and started reading whatever books I could get on the subject. I then followed what was said, wind chime here, coins there, plant here, water there and the list went on. To say my family experienced many problems is putting it mildly. I urge fellow forum members to take heed of the advice Cecil and Robert give you in relation to "Fast Food Feng Shui" as believe me, disaster WILL strike. Glyn

Dear George, 1. It is difficult to say for sure that, removing some of the toilets and leaving a few behind would help the situation. It can be tried but not sure, if it would work as there are still toilets at the centrepoint of the house. 2. One `idea' of using rocks is to create more `Yang' as rocks or stones are considered Yang objects. If you read it from a book and you can give a try. In general, other alternatives like keeping the toilet bright and clean is a better option. Dear Kenny, Overall, perhaps, the observations made may be `coincidental' unless further analysis is done e.g. using the Flying Star to analyse each sector i.e. NE or South in detail. It also depends on the built-up of the home i.e. the building in relation to wind movement. This is also affected by surrounding buildings (wind blowing from different directions and the high and low pressure points of the location. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Kim, Apologies, this site does not discuss BTB methods. As far as I am aware, there are no practitioners in the Far East and in Hong Kong or Taiwan practising such things. It is felt that BTB is a modern marketing invention by one man. If you are apply Compass School methods i.e. The Eight House or Flying Star Feng Shui, then, do look at how the main entrance door is been surveyed using the following example/link:- http://www.geomancy.net/fs/cecilcompass.htm Under Flying Star Feng Shui, this is the method used:- 1. Even if one does not make use of the main entrance door, so long as the door has a house number, one should also try to draw a Flying Star Chart to analy…

Dear Jerine Hsu, Jerine Hsu wrote: Hi, I am new here. Just realised that my boyfriend and my chinese horoscope is not compatible.. he is a goat and I am a dog.. its said to be very bad... I am very sad as he is the one i am hoping to live my life with.. can you kindly advise me how to make it better? I will be very grateful.. thank you Yes, in terms of chinese horoscope, dog and goat aren't ideal combination. However, not to worry as it is not the end of the world. Chinese Horoscope generally considers year of birth so you are matching year of birth to year of birth to check compatibility. You should also check on the element from your ba zi and see what kind of eleme…

Dear Sheridan, For example, if you are a strong Wood, then the few colours that are good for you are based on your favourable elements. Favaourable Colours for strong Wood is Fire and Metal, so colours are red, white / gold. For example. So you have to use the Pillars of Destiny report in the My FengShui website (http://login.geomancy.net) to help you determine your true birth element. Well, few things you can do. Using the Eight House Report where you will determine all your 4 good and 4 bad directions try to face in the directions which are your 4 good directions. This will bring you good luck especially if you can face in your Prosperity or Excellent direction.…

Dear Sonia, I took quite sometime to reply to your mail because, with the limited information, that you have provided below; it is difficult to `pin-point' your problems. An `L' shaped house need not be all too bad. In fact, if one is using Feng Shui, there are many types of analysis. What you have mentioned is focused only on a specific sector and in the interior of the house. Please see below:- If you have a bathroom door between your bed, one can place a side table and a table lamp on top of it. Under Feng Shui, it symbolises a `partition' between the two. If you feel uncomfortable with the two mirrors facing each other, a `cheap' alterative is to place a opague fi…

Dear Kumari, 1. Based on the Eight House Theory, it is good to study, by sitting facing a good direction. 2. In the Flying Star, there is a education sector but this is difficult to determine given the small room you have. 3. Under the `penmanship peak' theory, one could place a `Pagoda' figurine on the right side of the study table. Best wishes in your studies:) Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Fiona, Yes, it is OK to change the ground floor roof tiles. But, where possible, it should not leave the altar exposed as this is considered inauspicious (symbollically disrespectful to the "gods"). If the roof tiles on the second floor is dirty, than, this can be included as part of the means to try to fly to the next period. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Radha, Generally, if the renovations are major (ie replacing roofs / hacking of walls / adding roomsetc), then your house would have moved to 1990s (period 7). Usually for houses that are old, it can be sometime hard to say for sure unless you know what have been done. But most likely for most old houses some major renovations would have taken place, so it is very likely that it would have moved to period 7 (1984-2003). Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

Please refer to my earlier forum message. Chinese astrology should be taken on the "lighter sight" and not in the serious grain. For example, that is why, we named our Chinese Astrology with a "fun" url : Lovesigns.net How often do you see any "serious" conversations or messages even in this forum on the talk of "those born on 1953 or 1965 da... da.. da ... da ... da.... So let's try to leave it that way...

You could try bringing energy into the room with a small pet that would move around the space. Not fish in a bedroom though. Get a pet that sleeps at night, hamsters keep you awake. Hot milk just before bedtime helps. Dont allow tvs, record players or computers in the room as they can be a distracting influence.

Dear Susan, If you have a sketch, it would be easier to visualise the situation. Overall, since all bedrooms often have a window(s) and a bedroom door, there is a limitation to where it can be placed. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Dinesh, Thank you for your photos. 1. Please see attachment 2. Given the situation, you should place a wind chime at location marked A. 3. And see if you can remove the shelving under marking B. 4. Area of wealth A scientific method is to apply Flying Star Feng Shui to activate wealth luck and relationship luck. For example, under Period 7 house, one can activate #7 water star (with water) - if the location is possible to improve on wealth. Under Period 7 also, #7 mountain star location can also be activated for relationship luck. And also try to balance all the Flying star areas. Warmest Regards, Cecil 1. Poison If a person (Owner / If Owner sit …

Dear Lora, In my opinion, if it is not your main door or if there is no direct line of sight between your main door and the kitchen/entry door, there is no FS issue. The main concern is only if the main door is in direct line with another door (exit) door and Qi or (Chi) goes directly out of the house. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Zan, For many years now, usually, you should be able to purchase the 2005 Chinese alamanac during the Chinese 7th Lunar month. Since this is often the time, the publication comes out of Hong Kong to Singapore. (Usually, you should be able to buy this 2005 alamanac from middle of August 2004 onwards. And once it is out, you can easily buy it from any HDB neighbourhood incense shop). If you can wait until then, no issue. Alternatively, you can check out our Auspicious date service:- http://www.geomancy.net/products/po-dates/po-dates.htm Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Robert, A homeless would often also need to have a place of rest or sleep. The greatest influence on a homeless has more to do with his immediate surroundings or the Feng Shui of his surroundings. The first basic premise of Feng Shui is that a shelter should be away from the rain or if possible higher (in case of flooding) etc.. Other than the above, man or human factors would feature more prominently in his/her life. This may be his/her motivation or non-motivation in life, physical and mental strength to take this kind of life. Hopefully, the next question asked will not be: How can Feng Shui affect an alien (or ET). Hmm.... let's hope no one posts such a ques…

Dear Sophia, Generally, for doors, there is no harm to leave it in the natural wood (brown colour). This is considered a neutral colour or element for doors. For a weak Water person ideal colour is either Metal (white/gold)or Water (Blue/Black/Gray). So if you truly want to paint colour then you should choose between the above colours. Whether a house is good or bad, depends a lot on the suitability of the house to the breadwinner as well as the general feng shui of the home. Often most problems are due to major leaks in the external factors of the house itself. So finding and fixing the leaks are essential to improve your overall luck. Knowing what are the leaks will …

Dear Ann, Ann H. Huynh wrote: I understand that when looking for a piece of land to build a house on, the frontage of the lot needs to be narrower than the back/rear. Is there any truth to this? Basically, the one to be most concern is to have a frontage or opening which is larger than the back/rear. This is because it is like you have a head that is too large for your body. Imagine if you have a head larger than your body, it will be a burden to your body in terms of being able to balance yourself properly when walking. Thus, it is more ideal if you have a frontage that is narrower than the back. Of course, each plot of land is unqiue so you have to see each plot to b…

Here is the second floorplan in question. As you see, in this image the flying stars are brought straight up from the second floorplan. But if the get 'squeezed' to fit the second floor then things change dramatically - placing the 2-5 combo in the bathroom/closet area instead of the bedroom which may be more suitable for my girls. Thank you,

Dear Anon, 1. Please confirm, by standing at the front door area facing out of the house. Does the lampost or tree seem to `slice' thru the front door? 2. You mentioned that "the tree with lampost behind it. Do you mean that the lampost is furthest away and is blocked by the tree which in turn; can be seen `slicing' the front door? If so, you can place two potted plants on both sides of the front door. Or, if you do not like the above option, you can hang a Ba Gua mirror above the front door. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Vivek, Thank you for your words of encouragements. Please see below:- For a weak metal person:- Favourable elements: Earth (yellow) and Metal (whitelgold) Unfavourable elements: Fire (red), water (blue/black/grey) Wealth element: Wood (green or brown). Please take note that for a weak metal person, wood is the wealth element. But caution here! A weak metal person has to FIRST increase the weak metal before, one can take advantage of or use Wood element for wealth. If not, wood will further aggrevate the situation. A weak person must therefore, strengthen their weak metal first. Five elements concept is all about balance. Usually when applying the element a…
