Dear Shifu, We are looking at to buy a unit at Eco Sanctuary with true North South facing. The living room face South and the kitchen (per layout) looks like to be in the NW sector. The door face West when you stand at the door looking out. As these are quite new to us, may I know base on the layout, if the kitchen is indeed in the Northwest? If yes, what can we do about it? Both my husband and I are west group people. It looks like the master bedroom in the SE sector isn't ideal? Thank you Shifu!

Dear BND, Most of the time, as an individual we want our individual apratment accessed. In such a situation, the front door is the door of your individual unit. (NOT the main entrance of the building). Usually, when the front door of the main building is being accessed, this is often done by a Feng Shui practitioner for the building owner. Dear Sonia, I took quite sometime to reply to your mail because, with the limited information, that you have provided below; it is difficult to `pin-point' your problems. An `L' shaped house need not be all too bad. In fact, if one is using Feng Shui, there are many types of analysis. What you have mentioned is focused only on a specific sector and in the interior of the house. Please see below:- If you have a bathroom door between your bed, one can place a side table and a table lamp on top of it. Under Feng Shui, it symbolises a `partition' between the two. If you feel uncomfortable with the two mirrors facing each other, a `cheap' alterative is to place a opague fi…

  4. Hello, Am confused which to follow: 1. According to my Bazi chart, my most favorable element is earth. Next favorable is water. - so from this chart, my house should face either SW, NE or N. However, I also read from one of your posts that under Period 8, North facing houses are the least lucky houses. 2. According to 8 mansions theory, my most favorable directions are: N, S, E, and SE. 3. Since you say that the North facing houses are the least lucky for Period 8, should I focus on either South or East facing? I know there are other considerations to factor in like shapes and form and flyings stars, but I'm just asking as a general question only. What do I fol…

Here is the second floorplan in question. As you see, in this image the flying stars are brought straight up from the second floorplan. But if the get 'squeezed' to fit the second floor then things change dramatically - placing the 2-5 combo in the bathroom/closet area instead of the bedroom which may be more suitable for my girls. Thank you,

  6. Dear Susan, If you have a sketch, it would be easier to visualise the situation. Overall, since all bedrooms often have a window(s) and a bedroom door, there is a limitation to where it can be placed. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Robert, A homeless would often also need to have a place of rest or sleep. The greatest influence on a homeless has more to do with his immediate surroundings or the Feng Shui of his surroundings. The first basic premise of Feng Shui is that a shelter should be away from the rain or if possible higher (in case of flooding) etc.. Other than the above, man or human factors would feature more prominently in his/her life. This may be his/her motivation or non-motivation in life, physical and mental strength to take this kind of life. Hopefully, the next question asked will not be: How can Feng Shui affect an alien (or ET). Hmm.... let's hope no one posts such a ques…

  9. Started by Kumari,

Dear Kumari, 1. Based on the Eight House Theory, it is good to study, by sitting facing a good direction. 2. In the Flying Star, there is a education sector but this is difficult to determine given the small room you have. 3. Under the `penmanship peak' theory, one could place a `Pagoda' figurine on the right side of the study table. Best wishes in your studies:) Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, 1. Drawing a parallel, nowadays, also, this type of Feng Shui is too general to be effective. It is like the notion of North = career sector; SW = romance sector. 2. Although: West is associated with metal; East with wood; there is not much this can tell us. 3. A more accurate interpretation is to apply Flying Star Feng Shui. This is because each sector has three variables: the mountain star; the water star and the base star. 4. For example, the Flying Star analysis is based on the birth chart of each home. Here, one needs to know the year the house was born or had a major renovation. The direction of the house. 4.1 Senario 1: ============== If this (west) sect…

Dear Kenny, Overall, perhaps, the observations made may be `coincidental' unless further analysis is done e.g. using the Flying Star to analyse each sector i.e. NE or South in detail. It also depends on the built-up of the home i.e. the building in relation to wind movement. This is also affected by surrounding buildings (wind blowing from different directions and the high and low pressure points of the location. Warmest Regards, Cecil

You could try bringing energy into the room with a small pet that would move around the space. Not fish in a bedroom though. Get a pet that sleeps at night, hamsters keep you awake. Hot milk just before bedtime helps. Dont allow tvs, record players or computers in the room as they can be a distracting influence.

Dear CindyLu, Quote: I've always wondered if feng shui helps people struggling with weight loss/gain. Would this just be associated with the general health star? or does this not have significance in flying star? Please understand that Feng Shui is no mircle cure for all problems. Health / Relationships are two of the areas which Feng Shui has least influence or effect. Health is best to always seek Medical advice from doctors. To excercise to improve your health and maintain healthy diet. Relationship depends on two person's willingness to give in to each other. So if you understand this, you will know that there is no way that Feng Shui can fully have an impact ove…

Hi, I need help with my fame/reputation gua, please. It is in the kitchen, so there is water, water, water. Furthermore, there is 12 inch high mirroring above the burners (good) and above all the counters below the cabinetry (bad). The mirroring also frames the window directly above the sink, about 2-3 inches wide up the sides. The mirroring continues up to the refrigerator. The entire kitchen is white ? cabinets, formica counter tops, ceramic floor. The walls are painted a light green. The kitchen is part of an open space room. You enter my house into career which then ends abruptly on the right (south) with a closet, and then two staircases: one going up and one going …

  16. Started by carhu,

Dear Anon, Thank you for your clarification. 1. Techically, what I said was correct. However, a mountain star (if it is found) should be activated instead at the back portion of the house. For example, in your situation, where you had mentioned that you have activated a mountain over the `frontage'. Do remove the `mountain' at the frontage even if it is on the second storey. Symbolically, it is not corret to do so. We do not want a mountain blocking our `water' or clear space. A mountain star (if found) should be activated e.g. on the opposite wall from this position or any other walls that are at the back facing. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anne, Often, in such a case, there are various options: 1. To check for any external threats to the main door, and all round windows of the home for any visible threats. Such as a lone lamp-post slicing into the home etc.. 2. Fix-any-leaks If the home has leaks, it is best to fix any OTHER leaks in a home. 3. Enhancements Try to use the Eight House / Flying Star to improve on the interior of the home in relation to good Shapes and Forms. (If this sounds GREEK, than, one may need professional help. Otherwise, one could D.I.Y.). I have previously mentioned that Feng Shui is much like one taking a comprehension examination. For example, if one is is required to answer …

Dear George, 1. It is difficult to say for sure that, removing some of the toilets and leaving a few behind would help the situation. It can be tried but not sure, if it would work as there are still toilets at the centrepoint of the house. 2. One `idea' of using rocks is to create more `Yang' as rocks or stones are considered Yang objects. If you read it from a book and you can give a try. In general, other alternatives like keeping the toilet bright and clean is a better option. 20. Dear Sheridan, For example, if you are a strong Wood, then the few colours that are good for you are based on your favourable elements. Favaourable Colours for strong Wood is Fire and Metal, so colours are red, white / gold. For example. So you have to use the Pillars of Destiny report in the My FengShui website (http://login.geomancy.net) to help you determine your true birth element. Well, few things you can do. Using the Eight House Report where you will determine all your 4 good and 4 bad directions try to face in the directions which are your 4 good directions. This will bring you good luck especially if you can face in your Prosperity or Excellent direction.…

But, where possible, one's legs should avoid facing the bedroom door. 1.2 As this is known as the inauspicious `coffin' position. 1.3 Frankly, the only remedies are: - a. (silly to say this: But can the bed be moved to another location? If Para 1.1 is taken into consideration) - b. close the bedroom door when sleeping - c. place a low linen cabinet at the foot of the bed. - d. (Last resort) have a `curtain' like structure e.g. beading screen at the bedroom door. 2) The Th…

  22. Dear Anthony, I agree with you. For a small one room flat, there is not much one can do in the structural re-arrangements. In fact, for your apartment, the greatest influence is based on your block where your one room flat resides in. This block therefore, has the bigest impact on your home Feng Shui. 23. Dear Anon, 1. Please confirm, by standing at the front door area facing out of the house. Does the lampost or tree seem to `slice' thru the front door? 2. You mentioned that "the tree with lampost behind it. Do you mean that the lampost is furthest away and is blocked by the tree which in turn; can be seen `slicing' the front door? If so, you can place two potted plants on both sides of the front door. Or, if you do not like the above option, you can hang a Ba Gua mirror above the front door. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Brenda, 1. From my personal experience, it may not be `worth' the while charting a small mobile home using the Compass School Feng Shui. 2. I hope you do not get me wrong but, for such a `confined' space, dividing the mobile home into e.g. 8 sectors or even 24 sectors may not be feasible as all sectors seems too close to each other. 3. More importantly, one should based the assessment using Shapes and Form School i.e. in particular: looking at the Landscape and the site. 4. For the interior, stand at the main entrance of the mobile (looking outwards) for any visible threats e.g. a lone lamp post slicing the entrance. Use the same method for each of the windows. 5. Fo…
