Dear Carlos, 1. Usually, if one does not use Feng Shui, go with one's intution. 2. Under Feng Shui, there are considerations like e.g. the compass direction of the location to consider. 3 Here, this is usually referenced with the flying star influence of a specific sector. For example, if the ktichen so happens to have bad wood #4 with say additional #1 watercoupled with the location of the kitchen at the north. Too much green (wood) would not be beneficial as water helps fuel more of bad wood. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Soon Hoe, Yes, in my opinion, it is best not to place a painting with many birds facing the dining table. This is symbollic of too many mouths to feed. Even if they are cranes. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Susan, For a stove, it is equally inauspicious if a water pipe runs directly (below) the stove especially if it is as close as 6 inches. In such a situation, it is best to divert the water pipe away from the stove so that it does not directly cross path with the stove. Where possible, the water pipe you mentioned should be `hidden' from view of the stove especially if this sector is the North of the house. If the location of the kitchen is at the South of the house i.e. standing at the centre and the kitchen is at the south, there is no issue with it facing the washing machine. Frankly, with regards to the washing machine, this is quite new to Feng Shui, and in my op…

Dear Hoa Luong, 1. Besides Shapes and Form Feng Shui, the other form of Feng Shui is the Compass School Feng Shui. 2. In this aspect, the Compass School Feng Shui consists of both Eight House and Flying Star Feng Shui. 3. Usually, when applying Feng Shui, as mentioned earlier, both Shapes and Forms and the two compass schools i.e. Eight House and Flying Star Feng Shui is used. And usually and for practical reasons, how suitable the hosue is to a person (in general) should be based on e.g. the Eight House. 4. After having covered all the above points of consideration under Feng Shui i.e. Shapes and Forms and Compass School; we often then use Ba Zi for the interior of the h…

Dear Anon, 1. Thank you for the description of the condo. 2. Your situation seems rather unique. 3. Frankly, there is no current reference to your situation i.e. whether it is good or bad Feng Shui to have an interior that is distinctively sloping. 4. The only parallel to your situation is that some Feng Shui practitioners have advised their clients to get their contractor doing the flooring to gently slope the floor in the living room i.e. from from the main door down towards the middle of the room. This is not obvious to the household. 5. The purpose is literally, with the hope to `catch' wealth. 6. In my opinion, this is just an idea and from past observations e.g. o…

Dear Sio Cheng, 1. It is not advisable to place a fish tank in a bedroom based usually on `commonsense approach' be it Feng Shui or otherwise: 1. As a bedroom is usually suppose to be a place of rest or `yin location'. 2. The other situation is that if the bedroom is not well ventilated, a medium sized fish tank may need e.g. weekly cleaning or maintenance - depending on the type of food given to the fish -- where the fish tank may need to be cleaned. Since you are only placing a small fish tank, perhaps, more like a bowl, there should not be much of a problem. If it is well maintained - clean and not much `fishy' smell coming from it. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Based on what you had mentioned, the newly insatlled lamp post does not seem to be a threat. A threat is where, if one stands at the window or door and looks outwards directly ... and if it slices into the house, this may be a problem for those staying there. Usually, if there is a `leak' in the house, it may not necessarily come from the `L' shape house. As `L' shaped houses need not necessarily be affected in this way. Most probably, there are other leaks in your home. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Phil, It is quite common to have staircase(s) close to the centre of the house. So far, if one read thru the messages under this forum, there is no direct issue of a staircase at the middle of the house. Usually, if there is a problem, it is due to multiple issues. For a staircase, however, it is preferred that the steps are covered e.g. no opening or hollow between each steps. A mirror can also be used at the staircase landing to direct flow of Qi. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Hello Dear Cecil! I need your advise. I lost my job more then month ago and since then everything went wrong. Every day something bad happens..... The most recent one is my parakeet died, next day somebody destroyed her grave... I am still without job,no money left to pay rent or others bills. If I wont find job ASAP I can end up living on the street. The important thing is I'm looking for job every day and still empty handed. I have flying star report and four pillars. I placed all cures according report right after I lost job. Something is very, very wrong.I'm already afraid of next day, because only bad things happen. IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I CAN DO(i mean feng shui).I'm d…

I am newbie at fengshui been reading up on Black Hat Sect fengshui. According to the book, the prosperity corner is on the upper left of the bagua. I run into a section which I'm not sure how to resolve. I share a rented apartment with a few friends. I overlay the bagua ignoring the kitchen. Of worry is the prosperity corner of the place. We hang our clothes there and in the balcony to dry. Although not mentioned in the book, this rings of bad fengshui - water drying up. Also there is a mirror sliding door facing the propersity area that is connected to my room. The first instinct is to move the clothes rack but I can't as the place is shared. Besides there is no other sp…

Dear Ana, Please refer to the attached. In my opinion, the love seat is inappropriate to screen the main door from the staircase. It is best that a screen be used between the main door and the staircase. So long as the stairs is not seen, this will no longer become a threat. A few months ago, I encountered a case where my client redo the second level such that the staircase faces the main door. This is not healthy. Ever since, they had done so, and with other problems i.e. main door facing windows, these lead to many leaks in the home. The end result is that they continously face finacial problems. Generally, a mirror at the staircase landing (say at Marking `C' under th…

Dear Peck Wun, Frankly, once, the renovation has been completed, there is not much one can do here. Overall, we have to look at the main concern: 1. water position facing the stove or 2. toilet bowl also facing the stove Under your current situation, although it is not ideal, as mentioned, unless one relocates the stove, there is no much else one can do. Close the toilet door. In my opinion, your threat, is not as critical as shown under Para 1. or 2. Any other proposed `cure' is similar to taking a sugar coated pill. "Comforting but no effect." Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Wasis, Thank you for your layout plans. It's a great help to understand your situation. You should continue to leave the living room as it is. As the new layout is much better than the previous. For your bedroom, I do agree with you that the new layout is unsatisfactory. For this bedroom, do revert back to the original. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  17. Dear Marie, Frankly these are text-book examples of Feng Shui. Symbolically, 3-coins represent: 1. The number 3: represents the wood element. 2. The metal coins: literally mean metal element. Under the destructive cycle of the Five element concept: Metal destroys wood element to create `wealth'. Go around Feng Shui emporiums espeically internet Feng Shui stores and one will find lots of excuse to try to sell as many of these as possible. One may thus end up: Placing this three-coins under the floor mat, inside the ledger book, inside the cash register, inside one's wallet. Perhaps, the Feng Shui emporiums are laughing to the bank! One question asked: Since carrying the 3-…

Further to what I mentioned earlier, attached please find an illustration (top-view) of the placement of a water position. For the water positon:- 1. Best to avoid ambiguous objects such as a fish with an open mouth and or a frog with an open mouth facing inwards of such a house. Here, this is inauspicious since, such open mouths implies a `hungry fish or frog' that sucks in your already depleted wealth leading to ultimate calamity. 2. If possible, the water feature should have all five elements if possible:- Metal element: circular bowl represents the metal element or a circular ball spouting out water Water element: Needless to say, this is the actual water used in the…

Dear Marcia, Try to do a SEARCH using the Search feature under this forum. You can find the various alternatives to neutralise a beam. For example, I just did a SEARCH in this forum and the first two searchs show this two links:- 1 Photo Tours of Interest (with Pictures) Another alternative: bamboo flute 9/3/2002 2 Photo Tours of Interest (with Pictures) Another alternative: bamboo flute 9/3/2002 If your beam is made of concrete, the above can show you how to neutralise it. Dear Peck Wun Please see below:- Last month, while doing a house audit, I noticed that my client also stayed at a long corridor. In addition to this, my client's house is also at a long corridor. Please refer to the attached illustration file. In this file you can notice that from inside the house, one can see a neighbour's directional sign (with an arrowhead) slicing thru the main door. This is indeed a threat to my client's house. With such a threat, one has no choice but to use a Ba Gua mirror to neutralise such a threat. Unless, one can speak nicely to the neighbour and hopefully, they take down this threat. Else, one needs to neutralise it. In public housing, …

Dear Anon, Water positions are often determined based on: 1. Shapes and Forms Feng Shui 2. Flying Star Feng Shui where metal elements e.g. #7 or #6 are present In one or both of such situations, a sector may be enhanced with water e.g. water fountain etc... Warmest Regards, Cecil

  23. Started by myfs_85592,

Dear Melissa, 1. Many people would encounter the same problem that you have faced. Especially if one partner is an East House while the other is a West House person. 2. If one is currently finding a new house, then look at the intangible force affecting each spouse at the main entrance and their bedroom. Go for smoother combinations e.g.: Prosperity vs Irritation or other such combinations as opposed to combinations such as: Longevity vs death or disaster. Under Ba Zi Feng Shui, one should consider `binding elements' or elements that can help bind both partners. For example, Strong Metal person vs Weak Earth person, one should use a binding element e.g. Fire element. War…

Dear Anon, When planting plants or trees avoid having the tree trunk slicing into the house. If so, it may become a threat. In all my audit rounds, if the bedrooms are at the west and affected by direct sunlight, the interior layout especially the position of the bed and even the study table should be carefully looked at both from Feng Shui and commonsense approach. Locally, it can be quite hot especially if the bedroom is in direct contact of the sun eg. west. And it is the brickwall, one can even (if one places one's hand) next to this wall, feel the heat as much as 3 or more hours after sunset. Thus, if one were to place a bed parallel to the wall, the person sleeping …
