Dear Johnny, 1. If one uses a Ba Gua mirror, it should have a convex mirror at the centre (e.g. like those placed at car park blind spots. It should not be concave as this is meant to `absorb' rather than deflect. 2. For your mum's room, ideally, you could use curtains. For example, two layers of curtain i.e. day curtain and night curtain. In the day time, day curtain could be used to shield against this poison arrow. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, 1. Is it possible to draw a sketch using any drawing program or scanned image of the relative size and position of this `poison' arrow in relation to the door. 2.Is the cement block corner pointed towards the door or `parallel' to it. 3. When you mentioned that your toilet is at the SW corner: 3.1 Is it sharing an external wall of the house. 3.2 Is it at the True compass degree SW i.e. 184 Degrees direction. Usually, I believe, in your case, the toilet is not (1) at the centre of the house (2) What made you `concerned' about the toilet at SW i.e. is next to your masterbedroom i.e. bed against it? ... Warmest Regards, Cecil

Hi Cecil, I live at an apartment. There's a vertical structural pillar pointing at my main door and at the living room. What can I do to disperse the Shar Chi. Thanks.

Dear Alvin, It is no problem as we are corrresponding by e-mail and not on-site:) Please see reply below:- Yes, if you confirm that when you stand directly at your main entrance and there is a poison arrow `cutting' your main entrance, then, there is sha (poison arrow). Yes, my advice will be effective for your case. Alternatively, if the Management of your building could say install a `blind' on the window, then you do not need the `cure' as it will not affect you. Alternatively, if howeever, if " sun-x " or a `relective film' (on the side of the window facing the poison arrow (to reflect it `back') is used, you do not need the cure. If that particular locat…

Dear Carina, Frankly, as you mentioned since you are unable to put wind chime or something to block it. Hopefully, your chair is with a high backing to help block off some of the Sha Qi. Alternatively, is it possible to have another cabinet to extend the corner push sha qi further away. Otherwise, not much else you can do. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee regards, carina tien

Dear Carrie, In my opinion, a mirror may not be effective to deflect the `arrow' of the roof line because it will still be pointed against you. The two alternatives are: 1. As mentioned earlier, you need to use a blind or a screen. A white see through curtain is acceptable. 2. Ideally, if you can place one dragon figurine on your table and aim it at the poison arrow. It is best not to use a small cannon piece but this can be pointed at the `arrow' if you cannot find a dragon. But becareful when using the cannon. Do not face it in the path of any other buidings or allow it to be `reflected' back to your home. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Please see sample illustration. Sha Qi is highlighted in purple: The 1st Sha Qi is aimed from purple marking A towards B. And the 2nd Sha Qi is aimed from C towards D. Thus these two Sha Qi's are not aimed towards your home.

Dear Carrie, To confirm, it is a poision arrow only if it is aimed at you. This is where the tip of the poison arrow is tangent to any part of your window area. If so, apply the concept if you cannot see it, it no longer becomes a threat. Here, you can consider using a curtain or a venetian blind on the window. Do you something which can still allow light into the house. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Suat PG, suat PG wrote: I would like to seek your advice on how to neutralise the poison arrow inmy office. You see, I am sitting directly below a sprinkler on the ceiling. The sprinkler is sharp and pointed. Yes, any pointed arrow is considered a poison arrow. However, in feng shui we also have to consider whether is it a big or small threat. Big threat are usually large like a corner of a wall that cuts into you will create a much more larger posion arrow. So this is considered a small threat by comparison. suat PG wrote: Short of changing the position where I sit, which is not possible, what can I do or use to neutralise this? Dear Cheui May, Please see below:- It is difficult to solve a `poison' arrow aimed at the bed. Usually, if the `corner' is aimed at the feet, this is still ok. As for the use of wind chime, it is quite difficult to hang it. Even if you hang it, you may have to hang it at the level `between' you and the `corner'. Since your bedroom is quite big, the option is if you have any simple `partition' that can be placed standing like those `standees' would be acceptable. Otherwise, frankly, at the moment think of any thing that can neutralise the corner without looking odd or sound `practical' or feasible. Warmest Regards, Cecil Yes, this layout is not good. The only thin…

1. A small crystal ball is a modern invention. As crystals were only manufactured (mass production) around the 1980's. Some practitioners use this instead of the convex mirror (the concept is to deflect "totally" away). 2. While the crystal has to be placed inside the home usually behind the window... It is also used by some practitioners to deflect poison arrows such as these. Still acceptable. 3. For wind chime:- 3.1. Best to use 6 HOLLOW rods (usually different lengths - avoid SOILD rods) 3.2. Traditional Feng Shui type is made of copper or brass coated exterior. It usually has a pagoda roof and a Chinese ancient coin attached as the clinger. 3.3. An alternative mod…

Hi, Although our house is not located on a T-junction with a road, we were told that there could be a poison arrow pointing towards our house. Opposite our house is a block of houses that points to our house. Behind these houses, there is a small alley. This alley gives entry to the back of the gardens for these block of houses. However the alley ends at the first house in the corner. So, if you would walk though the alley towards our home you would end up at the garden of the corner house and then there is a tree before you would even see the front of our house. Would you consider this alley to be a poison arrow that points to our home? See attached document for an illus…

Dear Steve, Steve Jhun wrote: The problem is, the house sits on a road that makes a 'T' and therefore the road creates a poison arrow directly to our front door. Steve Jhun wrote: I've read that I could possibly remedy this by hanging a bamboo windchime or even planting somehedges to block this. Move the door position is really not an option. Would a water fountain help as well? Do you have any suggestions to remedy this or should we look for another house? Sha Qi from roads are harder to cure because these are external shapes and form influences. I would say that the planting of hedges to block this will be much better than the use of a bamboo windchime. In feng s…

Dear Sissie, In the Traditional Feng Shui practise of the use of mirrors:- 1. If one seek consultation especially from say Western Traditional School of Feng Shui especially the majority of such schools in US or Canada, in my opinion, I believe, these practitioners would normally say that Ba Gua mirror or even mirrors are "hocus pocus." 2. Therefore, I am aware that such schools say coming from the West, do not believe in the use of Ba Gua mirror(s). Even if the practitioners are Chinese (race). 3. But the distinction here is that although they are Chinese in origin, because of their cultural association i.e. they were born entirely or most of them in the West, they woul…

Dear Aj, The purpose of FS are two-fold:- 1. To neutralise Sha Qi and poison arrows. 2. To enhance beneificial Qi. From the above, it is good to understand what Sha Qi is and poison arrows. A. Poison Arrows. Examples are:- a. Another building with its corner pointed towards a house main entrance `posing as a threat' to the main door. b. Some FS practitioners believe that open bookshelves with books is a poison arrow. This is where the edges of books act like `knives'. c. Thus overall, one can imagine "poison arrow" as literally an arrow aimed at e.g. the main entrance door, through the window of the house or aimed at the person's body. d. In the bedroom, it can be the edg…

Dear Anon, Generally, what you cannot see no longer becomes a threat. So if you based on this concept, whatever you can do to make sure that you cannot directly the poison arrow is considered a solution to the problem. Usually, for example a fence or a row of plants that can help to block the view are good solutions for an external posion arrow. Hope that helps. Hi Master Lee, I would like to seek your advice on whether this unit is subject to poison arrows and/or tian zhan sha from the buildings opposite? The photo is taken from the balcony, which is perpendicular to the blocks on the left. The second photo shows the view out one of the bedrooms, which faces the opposite blocks on the left. The balcony is facing East, main door facing north. I wonder if you have any advice on whether this is ok, and are there any issues to look out for? Thank you!

I read somewhere that Pakua mirror is usually used for Poison Arrow cures but in this case its the windows- I just thought Pakua mirror doesn't seem appropriate here .... 1. Name plate pointing towards your entrance:- Unfortunately, the best alternative is a tit-for-tat situation. Install the same pointed exactly towards your neighbour'sname plate is one solution. 2. You mentioned: two bagua mirrors .. fixed facing your door If you have a photo of the mirrors would be great or at least describe each of the mirrors e.g. one mirror has a bagua trigram on the outer rim and a concave or convex mirror.. etc.. If you have more details; then may be just may be the tit-for-tat house number plate is not necessary. Without more details....... difficult to figure out what is the "cure" especially for the two mirrors that you had mentioned... Ma…
