Dear Robin, The information provided is too general, it is difficult to say what is causing the problem. Under Feng Shui, usually it can be analysed using a combination of: 1. Shapes and Form with regards to Yin and Yang concept. 2. Using the Flying Star theory to find out if the room is too Yin or has Yin factors. Usually, under the Flying Star, it would have to go at least further into the Flying Star of the day or time. The situation would arise if in the day/time at the specific sector has a relatively high concentration of Yin factors. But for a layman, it would be difficult to track all these. There are also other factors such as `Sleeping problems'. 2. In a recent…

Dear Harini, You can make use of the following:- 1. How to apply the Eight House theory:- http://www.geomancy.net/fs/house1.htm 2. You can also make use of the free computerised report at http://www.geomancy-online.com to generate the report. Under the Eight House, it is nice to have the table facing one of your 4 good directions. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, For the bedroom, it would be best to avoid any water scenery painting or poster in the bedroom. Otherwise, often, other types of painting or poster has to be looked at individually. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Sybil, 1. In your case where the re-roofing and extended kitchen is likely to change the house from a period 6 to period 7 house. Especially if the re-roofing involves completely taking out the roof, insulation and ceiling. This will definately change it to a period 7 house. 3. In feng shui for example, if the stove faces the water position or basin, one can place a mirror on the basin side directly reflecting the stove hob to reflect the fire back to the stove. 4. Since you are not using this sector as a study room, then there is very little you can do here. I mean unless it is a study room then this education/career sector will have good influence otherwise…

Dear ashwini, For the installation of chiming clocks, it is best to use it at locations that has a cluster of bad Flying star numbers. For example, it can be used independently if one sector has either one #5 or #5 combined with other bad stars like #2, or #3 or #4. For the centre of the home where the three doors are aligned. There is no issue with a wind chime there. But in my opinion, it is more "cosmetic" than effective. But if it does help to "calm the nerves" by all means. Since many of our uncomfort is due to "worring too much". Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Vijay, So far, based on my personal observations, this is not a major issue. In Singapore, like anywhere else in the world, many landed properties (site) are either: 1. On the same level to the road 2. Higher than the road 3. Lower than the road Based on my personal experience, I often see many homes similar to your description ie. (para 2 type) do not encounter financial loss. Nor affect the health of the owners. But rather, more importantly, the concern is that of open drains that e.g. flow behind the house or at the side. Often, rather, if the house has a large opening e.g. sliding glass doors at the frontage with main entrance doors, there is a possibility that c…

Dear Hoa Luong, This is often quite a "rare" shape. As the back pointed edge would mean that both sides-of-the-fence have quite an odd backyard. Most properties would not be divided with such "backyard". As it would often be level with the property. Is this land for real? Generally, so long as the front is smaller and the back is wider, it can still be of good-Feng Shui. One can always do landscaping such that from top down, the home, if possible should be as rectangular in shape. Hope that the next round, you don't post a circular plot of land. Else, it will be one of the kind that no reasonable, government would sell such a plot..... Warmest Regards, Cecil Hoa Lu…

Dear Florida, In my opinion, you can consider this (ceramic money tree with children on it) as a decorative piece. For this decorative piece, since it does not have any major significance associated with a specific deity/god, feel free to place it anywhere you personally feel comfortable with. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Yang Ming, So long as there is no direct path of `air' from the main entrance to the back, then this is not an issue. Yes a set of beads can be hung at the kitchen entrance. Usually, it should be full height or at least cover three-quarters of the length of the location it is placed at. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Regina, 1. This sector is generally balanced on its own. For this year in particular, you can add additional cure to reduce any influence of the bad yearly star 5 for additional safeguard. 2. Since the bad yearly star is star 5, then it a windchime is more ideal here. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

Hi, For sleeping position, of course it would be ideal if you can sleep in the direction of the good direction. But sometimes you can't. So most of the time as long as the bedroom sector is suitable for you, you already getting luck from a suitable sector. In addition, the shape and form placement of the bed is sometimes more important than the sleeping sector. The only time you can try to get everything done right is when you first renovate the room as only then do you have the luxuary of setting things right. Anyway, since you cannot do anything here, then what you can do is try to fix up or correct other flaws so as to compensate for this problem. Remember, that there …

Dear Hock Chuan, Yes, for many of us, firstly we do not have an individual room to work in. And many of us work in an open office concept with system furniture. Because of this, there are restrictions as to where we can or even want to sit. It is good that you can sit facing a good direction. Yes, because of other constraints such as colleagues sitting with their backs againsts us etc... We don't really have much control over this. More importantly, since we cannot really truly change our earth luck, we should therefore look into the human or man luck aspects like feeling confident and good team /work plus networking etc... to offset some of these issues. This is lik…

Dear Nguyen, Please see below:- If you can attach a layout plan, I can help you confirm the direction. Under the Eight House Theory, there is no solution or cure. It is best to look at other theories e.g. Flying Star Feng Shui. Yes, she can sleep in the spook bedroom. But, for husband and wife, it is best for both of you to sleep in the same bedroom. You can sleep closer to the sector and she sleeps further away (if this is possible). I am sorry. I am confused with some of the directions you had mentioned. Perhaps, a sketch can help. Overall, it is still best to have the placement of the bed based on good shapes and forms Feng Shui. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Since you are a strong wood person: Your best colour is Fire element (red, pink or purple). Your two other OK colours are earth and metal colours. Since you are a strong wood person: imagine that you are a strong tree (wood) and your roots has the ability to crush and anchor itself into the earth. Hence, earth is suppose to be your "wealth element". Therefore, your alternative best colour (in addition to red) belongs to the earth (yellow, cream or beige) colours. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Doreen, Chia Doreen wrote: 1. Where should I hang my wedding and children's photographs? Presently my wedding photograph is hanging in the master bedroom(sizes: wedding-approx. 24"x36", 8R table top, 4R/8R wall hanging) Family photos are good especially it helps improve harmony and relationship. So there shouldn't be any restriction on where you can or cannot place. As long as you feel good about it, you can place it wherever you can enjoy seeing it. Chia Doreen wrote: 2. Dear Anon, 1. Under the Eight House Theory one can still sleep at different positions or `switch places'. For example; if the bed is located at the North sector: Husband's intangible force is `irritation' while wife's intangible force is `prosperity' The wife should sleep closer to the `North' sector. The husband can sleep further away from this North sector. 2. For the kitchen/bathroom at the centre of the house. It is preferred that at the `centrepoint' of the house (best to have clear space). Hopefully; try to avoid if possible: the toilet bowl / stove directly at this centrepoint. Objects that are `off-centre' to this can still be acceptable. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Ali, Under one of my websites http://www.lovesigns.net - In the above site, you can find that a Rooster is characterised as:- Overview of a Rooster:- Roosters have keen sense of observation and likes to be noticed and flattered. It is not easy to fool a Rooster and they make good trouble shooters. They are conscious of their appearance and what they wear. What's good? Funny, witty, brave, enthusiastic, efficient and honest. A Rooster person is very intelligent, a good thinker and has an excellent memory, alert and organised. They are intelligent, entertaining and strong willed but generous to friends. Roosters are clever at finance, confident and an outstanding …

Dear SY Wong, In general, the best days for changes or doing things e.g. moving is either the 15th or the 1st day of any lunar month. (Note: Chinese usually avoid the 7th month.) Another method is to llok at one's Ba Zi e.g. element and strength and choose dates that auspicious to one's animal sign. Also under www.geomancy-online.com there is an Auspicious date module. Which is based on an individual's element and strength and the best dates for him/her. You can also make use of the Tung Shu or the 100 year calendar to look for auspicious dates. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Wendy, In my opinion, I personally feel that your question is too general. This is because, a house Feng Shui would depend on various factors involving: Shapes and Form and Compass School Feng Shui. And since no two houses are the same; more information would be required. Perhaps, when you have found a `suitable' house, or prior to this, you can in the mean-time, if you are using the Compass School Feng Shui; e.g. use the Eight House theory to see which room would be best for your dad's recovery. And later on if you have questions on the Shapes and Form of a house that you `like'; feel free to post more questions/advise relating to the house. Wishing your dad a spee…

Dear Sor Lan, Please see below:- Before touching on with your question, in the past, I have mentioned on two issues: 1. double decker beds ===================== Previously, there were some concerns that double decker beds are unhealthy for the young. But, in my opinion, and also that many (many) people have actually slept in a double decker bed, there is really no issue here. Some FS practitioners spell out the notion that the person sleeping at the lower decker is like having a beam above their head. I personally do not agree with this argument. This is because unlike a beam (concentrated) at the specific spot, the upper bed is relatively flat and does not exert an…

Dear Vera, 1. If possible (top priority) the staircase should never be facing the main entrance door. This is considered inauspicious. 2. And should be cured if it is an existing house. 3. A staircase can still face the dining room. This is a better option. 4. Where possible avoid having a circular staircase as this is not a good configuration. 5. It is good to have a turning or a landing for a staircase. 6. Therefore, in my opinion, avoid having it face the main door (at all costs) if your house has not been built yet. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Mary, You should normally use the unit door i.e. your main door and not the main security door. However, if you have a layout plan either in the following format:- 1. Scanned in one of the popular graphic format e.g. .gif .bmp .jpg etc.. 2. Fax it to: 065 - 6482-0570 (Remember to quote your e-mail address for a return reply via e-mail). We will be most happy to help you or anyone locate the centre-point to your main door. If you are sending it by fax, make sure that you quote your e-mail address as we normally scan and e-mail the information to you. Warmest Regards, Cecil
