Dear Kathy, It is best to find out where is the frontage of your house, first. In some homes, although the main door can be at one side of the house; but in some instances, you may have the `back' of the house as your `frontage'. For example, there are homes facing the sea. In such a situation; one may have a road leading to the main door. But, all the view is at the `back' or frontage of the house. If one's home is of this situation, then, there is no issue. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Kathy, 1. Frankly, it is better to place your bed in a good Shapes and Forms position. 2. Some examples of favourable/unfavourable bed positions can be seen under this url:- http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-bedroom.htm 3. Many of us, do have `opposites'. And it is best that the person who has more auspicious influence sleep closer to that intangible force. While, the partner sleeps further away. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Nathalie, In Feng Shui, there are two concepts:- 1. study facing a good direction. You can use the free Feng Shui report to look at it. However, caution is that it is always better to have the study table position based Good Shapes and Forms than (para 1 i.e. nice to have). For example, if the best direction is to place the study table next to the bedroom door; this may be distracting to your eldest son even if the direction is good! 2. Another traditional idea is that if it window of the bedroom open out and to the right (a distance away); there is a tall e.g. tower, this signifies, scholaristic achievement. Many FS practitioners encourage the placement of a small f…

Dear Anon, In my opinion, your cornice do not pose poison arrow as it is usually made of gpysum board. The height from the ceiling to the ground is quite a distance away. They are multiple (3) and long as opposed to a pointed edge. I personally feel that there is no issue in the type of cornice mentioned. Although the preference is for a simpler design. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Further to what I had mentioned, I also checked with some shops and according to the proprietor(s), next year's tong su (Tung Shu) is currently not available yet. The estimated time of arrival in Singapore is next month i.e. in the Chinese 7th month. In my opinion, you should not have a problem getting a copy after 9 August 2002. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Please note that these are general statements. But it does not necessarily mean that it may apply to all units in the vicinity. Your new set of question simply is too general since there are too many variations in Housing board flat layouts and locations. Warmest Regards, Cecil

i am new to this site so i hope this is right...i have applied the 8 mansion method to my house. our sleeping positions are all wrong but the house isn't set up for us to really change that. my husband's kua # is 5, mine is 9 and my son's is 4. if you know this method we are all over the place. the master bedroom is in the the ne and east sector and my son is in east and center sectors. i am supposedly sleeping in my death bed. i would like to change this for obvious reasons. is there advice that can help me with ideas as to how to get rid of the elements in the rooms without putting boards over windows. them i could try to reposition everyone. thanks so much, kathy

Dear Debasis, In my opinion, the figurine should be considered more as a decorative piece. Frankly, there is nothing magical with the piece. Personally, I have such a piece (as shown) attached. I personally liked it because, it was made in the early 1930's. It is nice to look at because of his (buddha's) lovely smile and nice to see kids climbing (taking advantage) of him:) As mentioned, we should treat these pieces as interior art pieces. But, if one have such pieces, it is best not to let them face into bedrooms, on the same wall as toilet etc... Otherwise, enjoy! Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Barbara, In my opinion, under Feng Shui, `L-shaped' houses are not unlucky. More importantly, if one is trying to audit or access an `L-shaped' home, then, one has to try to find the centrepoint as well as one can further sub-divide the house into two `symbolic' rectangles to access the home. Therefore, rest assured that an `L-shaped' home does not necessarily mean inauspiciousness. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Please see below:- In my opinion, this has to do more with `beliefs' than Feng Shui. Perhaps, I need to side track abit:- Overall, the most popular `bird' is the mystical bird i.e. Phoenix. In Chinese culture, a wedding card will inevitably have a phoenix (representing) female and dragon (male) symbol representing this union of couples. The other more popular symbolic birds are: the egale, pheasant, swallow, crane and magpie. Now coming to `birds'. Sorry, if sound crude but the Mandarin worn for bird or `niao' is `penis'. (Once again, apologies - but this is true!) There was a time when Nissan cars came up with a model called " Blue Bird ". Here, many Chin…

Dear Anon, Please see below:- - In my opinion, in general, it is best if one can not to purchase the house. - Perhaps, you can also ask the existing owner what is the rationale for them selling the unit. 1.What is your view on the effect of the station & the lane and the unit??s overall feng shui and it??s cure? Frankly, it is NOT practical to `cure' such a Yang effect coming from the Fire station. Not practical because, one has to literally close the curtains or close the main door most of the time. 2. Will it benefits a breadwinner of weak earth element perhaps needing more fire? This is to do more with which direction the main door is facing and whether it mat…

Dear Anon, Please see below:- If you have seen the various examples i.e. not only Meyer but references to other `Receive positions' under this url: http://www.geomancy.net/consultation/consult-home/home-househunting.htm You will notice that the one primary concept of Shapes and Forms is to `Receive'. However, the fundamental thing is that NOT ALL SITES are the same. The above gives a CLUE as to what to look out for in ADDITION to other Shapes and Form Feng Shui. It would be silly if one based on my suggestion to buy this type of house and happen that the house is on top of a badly eroded hill. Or any other unfavourable Shapes and Forms. As mentioned above, "It depen…

Dear Yew-Meng, 1. Further to what I had mentioned earlier, one reader had recently wrote something like this:- " I cannot see the resemblance of roads as equal to water courses ". 2. It is good to bear in mind what the above user had wrote. 3. It is not often or that every other house has large water positions around their homes. And for this reason, and the fact that as the above user had correctly questioned whether can we treat all roads as equvalent to water courses? Like any other Shapes and Form, each home or building has to be looked at individually. And something as `fantastic' as Water Dragon Feng Shui may seem out-of-place if there are really no real water at…

Dear Anon, You have brought up an interesting question. 1. What career suits me? Overall, in Ba Zi, there are two major types of career aspirations:- Career with wealth (either earned or unexpected) Career with power and authority. Under this category, it is interesting to note that under Ba Zi, a career associated in this field is linked more to a person who becomes a boss as opposed to working for others. Reference:- http://www.geomancy.net/reports/paidreport-examples/paidreport-samples-career.htm 2. A professional look at your palm or palmistry can also look at whether you are more suited in joint ventures; working on your own or working for others. Warmest Regards, Ce…

Dear Ricky, I feel that the information provided by the book is not totally true. 1. In my opinion, what was written is too general to be applied. In fact, Nine Star Ki uses the same numerology as Flying Star Feng Shui. And some FS practitioners treat both as one and the same. Only the methodology used is different. Furthermore, I believe the book does not take into account the following:- 1.1 Date of birth of the house: Period 7 is within 1984 to 2003. 1.2 Personalised to the compass direction of the main door 1.3 It does not take into consideration the mountain nor water stars. 2. Let me illustrate why this is so:- 2.1 Flying Star House Feng Shui takes into account se…

Dear Alan, Yes, based on your attachment, the layout is the most favourable (nw-bedplacement-1.gif) based on Shapes and Form Feng Shui. An alternative file: nw-bedplacement-2.gif shows the next best alternative (less the placement of the dressing table - as it is a poison arrow aimed partially at the bed. The dressing table should be placed further away or tilted away (if it does not have a dressing mirror on it). Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Serene, It would be best to tie a red string with the 6 coinst tied together. This is preferred if one is using 6 coins. The rationale is because fire element (red) can help to bind or control metal element (especially if it consists of 6 metal or big metal element). Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Thank you for your sketch. Based on your sketch, it looks like your bed has been placed in a good Shapes and Form layout plan. To confirm, please refer to the attached file and the markings indicated:- Marking `A' preferably your bedroom door should be located here. Marking `C' - windows on this side Marking `D and E' - preferably, the bed should rest against a solid wall. And it is acceptable to have windows on the side of the bedroom at location marked `D' and/or `E'. Frankly, under the Eight House Theory ( East/West Group) of persons, there is not much one can do other than to move room. For those, who want to go further into more advanced Feng Shui can ex…

Dear Chloe Lin, 1. Yes, it is not a good idea to use a urn. 2. Since the cul de sac is basically of the `metal element' i.e. imagine it as a metal sickle / knife slicing into your home, a better controlling item is red as mentioned earlier to you. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Carlos, In the future, it is best not to use all CAPs. Although you may not be aware, CAPs imply shouting. Please see below:- If the cabinet goes along the facade of the wall, there should no longer be any poison arrow to worry about. THE SECOND. HAVE I DONE Most probably, after next lunar year (after Year of the Horse) you do not need an extra six coins). For the mirrors, do check whetehr the sector is auspicious or inauspicious. If it is inauspicious, it is est not to place a mirror on either sides as it may bounce back twice the bad luck. Warmest Regards, Cecil
