    1. Since the door is facing the staircase, the concept is "if it is not seen it is no longer a threat" applies. Thus, it should be placed such that the staircase is fully or partially blocked. 2. In Singapore weather, the most common - easy to maintain are those from the bamboo family is one of the easiest to upkeep. The yellow bamboo and common straight growing ones are OK. Any other plants so long as they don't have a single trunk would be accepable.

  2. 1. In Feng Shui, the kitchen belongs to the lady of the house. The corner where one choose to place a kitchen depends on each individual home. In general, the Eight House chart of the lady of the house is considered, in addition to your first few written lines where possible it should not be at NW etc... The Flying Star chart of each of one of the 15 directions also need to be considered. 2. Thus it is so easy to provide a one liner statement " which corner would you place a kitchen. " Similarly, which corner you place a toilet. The key word is " It Depends!" Quote: Anonymous wrote: I been reading all the message that is not good to have the kitchen in the NW, center…

  3. 1. To be honest, it is no value to take a compass direction and not use it. The Compass School Feng Shui, is not only about taking a general reading and (full stop). 2. To enhance a sector, or neutralise a sector or problem; the Compass School Feng Shui (especially Flying Star) has both the TOOLs as well as the means to understand each sector. 3. Under Shapes and Forms Feng Shui, a tree trunk should preferably not "slice" thru the main entrance door or window of our home. If it slices the neighbour's -- not our concern... (This is still a poison arrow or sha qi towards that neighbour - not our home). Nancy W. wrote: I have used the compass direction to determine that…

Dear Doris, Yes, one consideration is SW sector. Another two sectors to consider are: 1. South-East (Eldest daughter) 2. South (Middle daughter) 3. West (Youngest daughter) If one only has two daughters than do check out Para 1. SE (eldest)and 3. West (youngest) For landed property, make sure that at the frontage; avoid having too many openings OPENED e.g. some landed properties have both main door e.g. wooden door and directly next to this a row of sliding glass. If often both this sliding glass are always opened together with the wooden door. Quote: Doris W. wrote: Hello! I am aware that the SW sector of the house is the romance sector. 5. 1. Fundamentally, here, you are applying the Eight House theory. 2. As many of us are aware, the Eight House theory looks at how suitable the house is to the owner(s). 3. In addition, if we have several homes to decide upon, which is better, the other common approach is to perhaps determine, between these homes, which sectors are good or bad vs the other homes. 4. For example, home 1: main door (inauspicious) 2. living room (inauspicious) sector, toilet at husband's prosperity sector; we then compare home 2; home 3 against home 1 to see which home is better. 5. Other than the above, we have to use other methods : Shapes and forms and Flying star Feng Shui, to determ…

    1. The high uncovered overhead beam can be an issue. 2. Given that your cubicle is located at a frequent foot traffic area - there is no choice, here. You have placed a mirror is fine or OK. For para 1, some of the common cures include: 1. Covering the overhead beam - seems not within your control 2. Another common approach is to draw a red line parallel to the beam (especially if it is above your head). The "red" line symbolises fire and if the beam is a concrete or wood beam, the red (fire) is symbolic of "melting" the beam. 3. Possible also for the nasty #5 yellow (misfortune/sickness) and or a combination of it with #2 at your cubicle sector. Here, within your cu…

These are some of the common notations on your case:- 1. Check your existing name or change of name: Some go to the extend of checking one's existing "Mandarin" name to see if it would help to benefit a person if there is a change of name or not. Here, I have mentioned that if one does not normally use one's "changed" name, then usually, not very practical to do so. For example, if we have a Christian name: of Christina, changing one's mandarin nameoften does not help in any way. Especially if the universal commerce language is English. 2. Under the Five elements concept, Fire fuels earth. Thus, there are varied interpretations such as going for a fire career or hav…

  9. Dear Lalita, 1. Never hang a convex mirror and/or a hexagram Ba-gua inside the home. It is considered very inauspicious. 2. Since you have not or may not intend to do a Feng Shui audit, it is still best to leave the current situation alone. In my opinion, as far as I can understand, so long as the staircase has a turning and not a straight staircase, this is considered acceptable -- not perfect, thou. Quote: Lalita L. wrote: I just bought a house. The staircase is in the middle of the house and unfortunately runs into the master bedroom. Is this considered two major leaks? Dear Rebecca, 1. I hope you can understand that it is difficult for me with this general information to give you any advise. 2. Perhaps, you can check out for any practitioners in your area. 3. For a SE facing home, it also depends on the age of the home ( 1984 to 2003 = Period 7; 1964 to 1983 = Period 6 or earlier home). In addition, the individual layout of your home especially the bedroom / kitchen etc... has to be considered also. Best of Luck!

    1. The professional approach is more than the simplistic view that since the home is facing "south-east"; it DOES NOT automatically mean that the best colour(s) is GREEN (SE = wood). 2. For example, most of the professional Feng Shui practitioners apply Flying Star Feng Shui. And if a SECTOR of a home does have a #3; this represents "BAD WOOD". And anything associated with green such as GREEN colour or green plants is considered inauspicious, here. 3. Thus the notion that SE = Wood, West = Metal, North = Water is too simplistic and often unfortunately, considered as "Kindergarten Feng Shui". 4. Traditionally professional Feng Shui practitioners would first look at Para…

Overall, depending on the external environment (especially the site and location); under Flying Star Period 8, a NE2 home generally enjoys a Parent string especiallyif the frontage has a "mountain" and the back... "clear space" effect. Health especially for the 1st year is a concern but overall, the house may enjoy favourable wealth luck. The suggestion or advise is for a holistic approach to Feng Shui: try to do a full Feng Shui audit : to neutralise the leaks and areas where qi can be improved on, try to do so. The remedy will depend on individual home and individual sector(s) of the home. We just bought a " very inauspicious" house according to the flying star theo…

Frankly, the house number analysis is based on "Vertical Flying Star" Feng Shui - where each level is suppose to have different qi flow. It is nice-to-have an apartment that has a good number (full-stop). However, this is not the end, but one of the many other considerations. In Feng Shui it is the earth luck: thus "location, location and location is equally as important. And it involves a close-look or study of the site, the building and neighbouring building / roads etc.. Thus the more info, one has, to evaluate the home, the better. As the "Vertical Flying Star" Feng Shui is specific to just looking especially at which level or storey the apartment is (full-stop). I…

These are some ofthe major Feng Shui considerations:- 1. Check to see if (especially) the direct opposite neighbour's home roof is not like a pointed arrow especially if it suppose to slice thru the proposed new main door of your home and or windows. 2. Also do check for any street lamps or signposts that slices or will slice the main door and or windows. 3. If you are constructing a new home under Flying Star Period 8: then if your home has clear space at the frontage, then a better facing direction is the Flying Star SW1 facing. As there is a water star #8 current prosperity at the facing direction. And there is a mountain star #8 at the back of the house. If the ho…

  16. 1. In my opinion, not sure if you have knowledge or may need to seek help from a Feng Shui point of view. 2. Often, the problem can be corrected especially by applying Flying Star Feng Shui: #3 May need to disarm this "bad wood" element. #5 misfortune (and sickness) stars. 3. If Flying Star Feng Shui is applied, and once one disarms especially these two nasty stars, it will certainly alleviate the problem! 4. Sorry, it is not within this scope of this forum to work out the chart for your home nor dwell deeper into it as no two homes arethe same and such things needs full analysis and work. 1. Unfortunately, since no two situation is the same: 1.1 for a Feng Shui practitioner; for a bedroom, we often try to visualisemore importantly where the bed will be located. In many instances, even if the bedroom is located withintwo or more sectors, usually we would find that the bed-head and if we lie down on the bed, where is the majority of our body lies. If so, this sector should be one way of checking to see if there are no bad sectors or if so, some cure need to be placed. 1.2 Following from 1.1. Rather than firstly get confused whether this sector lies in North or NW, we should take a look at the Flying star numbers for both North and NW. 1.2.1 In some situ…

    1. In my opinion, it is at least good to hear that you are "starting" a "new" life. 2. However, whenever possible, I do hope that you do not take too much of the Chinese zodiac signs "too seriously". As I feel that too much reference, digestion of e.g. the characteristics of say a dragon, snake etc.. will make us -to-have auto-suggestion. 3. Frankly, one can never tell that the next "snake" one meets will truly be a "snake!" Maybe there is too much coincidence in your past experience in dealing with people. And broadly, any one of us can fit into easily into any of the 12 Chinese zodiac signs. 4. Even in modern Singapore, many people meet each other, be it couples, bus…

    1. The apartment number analysis in this website is based on Vertical Flying StarFeng Shui. As the name "vertical" suggests, qi varies from different level(s) or stories (floor). 2. Since yours is a landed property, there is no precedence under Feng Shui or Geomancy on whether a number is auspicious or not. 3. You may have to consider other numerology assessment for the house no.
