  1. Dear Elizabeth, In a classroom, priority should be given to the Shapes and Form School of Feng Shui: 1. Usually a classroom is rectangular in shape. 2. Normally one side of the classroom has windows. The opposite side usually are the entry and exit points. 3. If the classrooms are airconditioned and there are blinds at the windows, it would still be best to arrange the tables tangent to the windows so as to avoid glare. If we use the above `formula', there is really not much we can change the placings of the tables (other than to avoid glare). The traditional placement of tables in uniform rows and columns is still the preferred method. As a teacher, one would have to sit…

Dear Elizabeth, As a guideline:- 1. The aquarium, most not be placed at the centre-point of the house. 2. Preferable that it should not be placed in the dining room. As you mentioned, it is acceptable to place the aquarium in the family room and on the `surface' it looks a sensible location to be placed. Where possible, if your house has an `L' shape configuration, symbolically, or through use of partition to `change' it to a square or rectangle shaped. This configuration is still the best. Dear Val, In my opinion, with the little information available, it is difficult for me to say exactly for sure if the house you intend to buy is good or not. As you are buying it for an investment; it will be good if the house has good/excellent Shapes and Form. And under Shapes and Form, usually the plot of land and its surroundings has to be surveyed first. After which, other Feng Shui concepts and theories should also be used to look at the interior of the home. For investment, sound financial considerations should be made such as how well the property can be rented out; its rent value etc... Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, 1. Some `Western Traditional' School of Feng Shui particularly those who practise Flying Star Theory have concern about the rotation of a metallic fan. To them, it circulates metal and their concern is that if a sector is out of balance and if metal is the catalyst, this is a `concern'. 2. In my opinion, looking at the commonsense approach to Feng Shui: Nowadays, many fans no longer have metal blades. And even if the blades are metallic does not mean that it generates `metal'. In view of the above, I personally feel that there should not be any cause for concern over the use of fans. I believe that they are a cheap and economical method of cooling a house. Th…

Dear Lawerence, Yes, your observations are correct. This is because, especially in a home, the location that has both water and fire element is the kitchen area. And there are many considerations, when water and fire is close-by! For example: 1. Compass School Feng Shui Many practitioners who apply the Compass School of Feng Shui is very much concerned with "Fire at Heaven's" gate. And under this concept, it is very bad luck to have the stove placed at this specific location e.g. NW sector of the home. And when analysing Flying Star numbers, some combination of Flying Stars may be very bad for stove placement. For example, the location that may have MS#9 with WS#6…

Dear Cecilia, Usually, I do not `verify' questions especially when a birthdate has been provided. At times, the question would be moved to the conference " Samples that will not receive a proper reply ". I hope you understand that, I not here to do all the homework i.e. someone furnish me a DOB and I have to first, do the calculations or pre-anlysis. Instead, quality time should be spent on analysis or provide advise based on all available information provided to me since there is only 24 hours a day. Warmest Regards, Cecil P.S. For those who are perhaps new or not too sure what questions would not be answered please browse thru the forum " Samples that will not receive a…

Dear Susan, For a stove, it is equally inauspicious if a water pipe runs directly (below) the stove especially if it is as close as 6 inches. In such a situation, it is best to divert the water pipe away from the stove so that it does not directly cross path with the stove. Where possible, the water pipe you mentioned should be `hidden' from view of the stove especially if this sector is the North of the house. If the location of the kitchen is at the South of the house i.e. standing at the centre and the kitchen is at the south, there is no issue with it facing the washing machine. Frankly, with regards to the washing machine, this is quite new to Feng Shui, and in my op…

  10. Please see below:- Yes, ideally, your head should face one of your 4 good directions. For example, if the South is your Nien Yen, your head should face this direction. It is still best to sleep in your present room especially if this is only a `make shift' room and also if it is small. One point to note is that this room should have a window as it is not auspicious to sleep in a room without a window. Under the Eight Association or Eight Aspirations or Life Aspirations, you can activate the South West corner of your room and (overall) in your South West corner of your house any `romantic' items e.g. a vase of rose; a valentine card, a photo frame of you and your…

  11. Hi Master, I would like to seek your advise in the placement for the altar at my new home. The place that I have in mind is right beside the main door however as I was researching the altar placement online I came to understand from a few online articles and web postings that it may not be a good idea. I am envisioning a large altar right beside the door that will be custom made and according to the yin and yang calculations for both the main altar and the di tzhu kong altar below. Is it really a bad Idea to have the altar beside the main door? Look forward to your advice and thank you master. David King

Dear Chee Kheong, It is a strong consideration to move the stove. Since we are just going by description, it is good for you to see the feasibility of this inconsideration with: 1. in the new position, where best the stove does not face the toilet bowl or basin 2. hopefully the new position does not clash with the wash basin or 3. is there a secure solid wall behind the stove 4. how about windy days? Does the postion allow fire to "move-around" or forced-out of the front ... which may cause hurt to the body etc... The above are also some of the considerations before implementing any change. I can only think of the above for now. Warmest Regards, Cecil

These are some considerations:- 1. If your approach is thru the Compass School of Feng Shui; then it is best to draw up a 20 Year Flying Star Chart and find out exactly what are the Flying Star numbers at the northwest area (sector):- 1.1. If that sector has the Water Star #8; and depending on the Mountain # and Base # stars; etc... 2. Otherwise, what you had writte…

Hi Diana, For choice of tomb, you will have to use shapes and forms concept to determine which part of the land would be better. Probably, look out for like the Four Symbolic animals, where is the tortise protection, where is the open area, and many other shapes and form concept like water position, mountain position etc. Those are more important in the choice of a tomb location. The Eight House suitability isn't used for the dead, it is a concept for the living. Probably best, here to get someone who does tomb location geomancer as they can better advise you which is better position. Hope that helps. Dear SL, No, it depends. This is the rationale, why, I suggested for a `proportinate' sketch or layout plan. Without a proper sketch, it is not easy to comment whether to superimpose a 9 grid or to assess it as an `L' shaped home. For an `L' shaped home even if we separate it into two rectangles; it may be quite trickly for some to find out what is the direction of the main entrance and whether to use to directions (different) grids for each rectangle or superimpose identical grids to both triangles. Warmest Regards, Cecil

http://www.ens-newswire.com/PERSONAL_PICTURES/hThank you so much for your service. I have learned so much from the free forums that I am planning to sign up for the entire course. I am renting a condominium that is troublesome to me. I have suffered both health and financial problems since I moved in here. The door is facing directly north and there are several vertical posts as well as a steel handrail in front of the door. I have posted pictures both from inside and outside. Is there any way I can offset this negative influence or should I move to a new home?

Thanks for the photos. These are some considerations: 1. Since the offending post is "smack" against the main entrance door; thus the best "solution" is to consider a potted plant with lots of leaves (not another barren tree trunk type of plant) against this post. Ideally the potted plant is plus or minus = around 3/4 height of the entire entrance door. 2. The weak alternative is hanging a 6 hollow rod wind chime. 3. The rest of the concern like railings.. no choice. Thus, in my opinion, therefore, if you are allowed to place a potted plant; then this can be the best solution.

Dear Ben, 1. The main purpose of the light is to `redress' the missing corner. 2. If your garden has an outline of the missing corner e.g. landscaping done so that when one has a top-view of your plot of land, it shows an outline or profile of the `missing corner'. If this has been done, then it is not a necessity to have a garden light point. If Para 2, is `available' i.e. if you have landscaping done - then it is not necessary. But if you want to place a lighting under this `condition' then, a low walkway light should be acceptable or the 1-2 feet tall type will do. 3. If there is no landscaping and you are using only a `street lamp' then, it is advisable to use a tall…
