Dear Raju, For a person who is a `weak earth', a water position such as a fish tank is neutral to your element. Here are some guidelines to the placement of a fish tank: 1. One method is to use the Flying Star to analyse each sector of the house for imbalances. 2. If one does not want to use method 2, then, the most common method is: 2.1 Shapes and Forms The fish tank can be placed in the living room or a private room. Avoid placing it in a study room as it may be distract the person studying in the room. 2.2 One School of Feng Shui feels that the stand of the fish stand should match the location e.g. a black stand at the North; a Green or Brown stand at the East etc... …

Dear Anon, Often, the colour scheme can be used in many situations. Neutral colour such as white or pastel shades of light colours are acceptable. The use of 6 coins is symbolic. Here, 6 represents big metal. And this is why it is often used. Other metal elements often used as a cure in Feng Shui are things like pendulum clock or wind chimes. In my opinion, this type of cure can be subjective. As not all practitioners may agree with it. In my opinion, it does help. So long as it is seen, it is ok. Warmest Regards, Cecil

HI Since I got married with my husband (born in year of tiger , age 37), I don't have a peace of mind. My husband is the bst husband in the worl but his family is giving me lots of problem especially my mother in law (born in year of tiger, age 63). My mother in lawa gave me lots of hard time due to her conservative way of doing things. Her extremly cleaniness & only trust her own self makes me feel very uneasy. Though I don't have any fight with her except once in year 2006 due to her accusing me for giving a dirty apple to my daughter. I stayed with my in law since My first child is born, then we move out & move back again in year 2009 when my 2nd child is born.…

Dear Marie, Apologies for the delay in reply. Usually, I ponder over questions ... especially if I am unsure about how to reply. If you can have a sketch of the layout it would be of great help. This is because, I feel that the placement of the bed based on good interior shapes and form should outweigh that of placement to benefit the person. For example, where possible, the bed should be placed on the opposite wall of the bedroom door. In addition, it should not be placed on the same wall as the toilet area. After considering the above main considerations and some other factors, then, it would be " nice to have " the bed and how one sleeps, face the directions, you have…

Dear Abhijit, In general, fish tank should be placed against a wall. Usually, I believe, the fish tank that has been placed at north is meant more as a hobby piece. Rather than for Feng Shui purpose. Without much more investigations (e.g. using the various methods especially, the Flying Star Feng Shui, therefore, one can only say that it is ok, since you may have it there for sometime already. Dear Allan, On an intuitive level, (without) detailed Pillars of Destiny or FS analysis; you can: 1. determine what is your present `LUCK' in the existing home. 2. If you have found a `better' home, or feel that you have found a better one then your existing home. In such a situation, you can try to move residence ASAP. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Arturo, As much as we like to sleep in good positions, however, if there is no way in which we can sleep in a better direction, then really no choice. Another consideration is that the first priority is that we should place our bed in a good Shapes and Form position. For example, the bed should preferably be against a wall. Where possible, the bed should not be on the same wall as bedroom door. These are some of the `first priorities'. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  11. Dear Emily, It is best to understand some of these concepts: 1. What is a quantum leap in Feng Shui? Many good homes are simply (good homes). But homes that have a quantum leap are those that "suck" wealth from other homes or the environment. More? Please do a SEARCH for Quantum Leap in this forum or review some of the resources found under this site's "Can or cannot buy resources". Appreciate - don't ask me to explain from fresh what quantum leap is all about. 2. The above points to the clue that what makes or break a good home is the external environment such as an audit of the External environment, the site and the property itself. 3. Under Para 2, we should try…

Dear Anon, On the issue of the Grand Duke, there can be controvesy over the definition of how the Grand Duke can be `offended'. Therefore, when answering your question, I used the word `strickly speaking' i.e. where it concerns some advice, it is a must not to offend the Grand Duke. In my opinion, I feel that it is acceptable: 1. When one does a renovation especially take the case; where this is not a new house and we need to renovate the home. When we engage a contractor to do the entire renovation of the home; I feel that this is acceptable. On the `commonsense' approach.. it is not practical to ask the contractor to say do renovation to the home and leave out some part…

Dear Lorene, It is best to have the bed in good Shapes and Form positions (first). Under the Eight House Theory, one should sleep closer to one's best sector. Or use one partner as a `shield'. For example, if the husband's sector is health at the west while the wife's is irritation (west); then let the husband sleep closer to WEST and wife sleep further away. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Lily, Quote: May I ask what happens if WS8 and MS6 fell in the sector of half of the toilet and half of the dining room (divided by a solid wall). Can WS8 be activated in the dining room? The other half of the dining room is MS2, WS3 and B7. As long as a resonable amount of sector influence cover the dining room, it is still possible to activate the stars in the sector. For Water Star however, you also need to make sure there is clear space available, because that is the requirement. A dining room may not be as effective a location compared to living room/balcony. With the open space consideration, you will not be able to enjoy the water star in this sector of …

Dear Anon, 1. The test for a real treat is : for us to stand inside of our house - Main door and windows and look out directly. If we do not see a threat slicing straight into our house, this is normally not a threat. 2. However, if it is an angle of a house and it `cuts' into our house, this is considered a threat. 3. For office buildings, reflective glass can be considered as a threat, since it reflects or deflect light. 4. For the home, a threat can seeminly come from the walls of another house. For example, if the afternoon sun, shines onto this wall, and from our window, we get a really bad reflective glare, this can be considered as deflected, sha qi. A simple solut…

Dear Diane, It is good to hear that since you are a weak water person, water can help your element. However, for a weak water person, the best element that helps your weak water element is ideally Metal element. Under the Five Elements Concept, Metal helps to produce water. Adding water (such as a fish tank) can still help but will not be as productive as using Metal. But nevertheless, it can still be of help to a weak water person. For a weak water person, an element to avoid is the Earth element. As Earth, destroys water. Normally, an accurate assessment of where to place a fish tank should be undertaken by looking at the birth chart of the house such as the Flying Sta…

Dear Kevin, 1. This is based on the "vertical Flying Star" analysis interpretation based on the combination of 81 numbers. 2. The 81 combinations is literally what it means. 3. Likewise, if one looks at the information of a "Horizontal Flying Star" or 20 Year Flying star, each sector also has a significance. (81 combinations of mountain vs water star). 4. A practitioner does not read this interpretation alone. But collectively with other inputs found. 5. Generally, as Robert has often stated, a much more productive use of this House number is where: for those who are not too sure of which unit to purchase in a similar block of flat, could perhaps, look at the significance…

Dear Sophia, For birth element you should use Ba Zi element. 1. The Kua Element is never used as the Birth element, given it only considers the YEAR of birth. 2. The Ba Zi on the other hand tkes the full Day, Month, Year and even Hour of birth, so it is far more accurate to use the Ba Zi element. You should always try to use the day rather than year element (just as in our website's ba zi analysis). So Earth element as caculated by the Ba Zi report is your birth element. Hope that helps. Ensuring the place you are selling looks clean. Or give it a fresh coat of paint to make it look new. 2. 22. No, the amount of renovation done may not be considered as being flown to Period 8. Dear Sonet, 1. In my opinion, there is a general concensus amongst many well known FS practitioners that the Southern Hemisphere `debate' is not an issue in Feng Shui. 2. This is because, many of the theories deal with the foundamental in Feng Shui such as:- Yin and Yang concept; The Five Elements Concept; Shapes and Form Feng Shui. 3. These three areas totally do not depend on the `compass school' of Feng Shui. 4. The only area that Shapes and Form School has is simply the use of pictorial to describe each directions with e.g. an animal sign. Such as East (Green Dragon) or West (White Tiger). All these if one understands properly is simply the use of pictures or illustr…

Dear Jen, Let's take alook at commonsense approach to Feng Shui. Often, the most convenient place to walk in and out of various rooms is a passage-way. Here, imagine a passage way (or clear space at the centrepoint of the home). In better Feng Shui homes, this corridor or area is the `flux' or centrepoint of a home. A low set of sofa furniture is still ok, since, it represents clear space i.e. nothing at this `centrepoint' that is as high as a wall. Please note that it does not necessary mean that all homes must have clear space here. It depends. What is not so favourable are locations like: a toilet / toilet bowl and a kitchen's stove etc... Under commonsense approach t…
