Please check out this link, first... An In-depth understanding of the Frontage of a home. Is it always the main door? Who are the Conservatives & the Modernist. Look at this way. Even in period costume movies or tv shows, seldom have we come acr…

Dear Kennth Chong, Kenneth Chong wrote: In 2006, Tai Sui resides in the NW direction. Is it alright to sit at my working desk facing SE (in order to get support from NW)even if SE is my bad direction? My Kua no. is 6. Generally, the most important thing is avoid having any major renovations to disturb the tai sui. Which in this case avoid having any major renovations in NW direction. As for the sitting and having the tai sui behind you, this is more for any major events or key things in your life. So as to get the Tai Sui behind you to back you up. Otherwise, for normal day to day activities, fra…

Dear Albert, I have considered the site relative to the Brighthill crematorium and columbarium i.e. I have explored the area and in my opinion, they are not exactly in direct path nor very close-by to this development. Overall, the general alignment of this plot of land i.e. the site (in general) is aligned in a North-South direction. This is a plus factor. Having taken this into consideration and the overall surrounding, it has its merits. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, The best solution is lots of activity at the double 8 sitting position (if possible). For example, in some homes, the living room area is situated here, Alternatively, or materialistically, one may hang a painting of a mountain with trees, at this location without water in the picture. Can't help if it falls into the toilet. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Thanks for the photograph. Without which, may have a misunderstanding. As this type of bed is unique. Can common sense explain why it is inauspicious? Some beds are "slippery" and perhaps due to "physical activities" sometimes, both beds may split apart or leave a gap in-between. This is the only possibilty based on common sense. However, it also boils down to whether the bed has rollers or the bed legs floating on "slippery" slides for ease of moving - cleaning below. But all these can be fixed. Thus, not a permanent issue. Actually, it also all boils down to symbolism in Feng Shui. In that some feel that it is not auspicious to join two single beds into say a master bed…

Hi Master, was quite confused about "stove cannot be in NW sector". Does it refer to stove cannot be in NW sector of house or stove cannot be in NW sector of kitchen? Thank you!

In my pair of Fu dogs, the male has the globe under his left paw and the female has a cub under her right paw. Can these be used at the entrance to our home? If so, how should they be placed?

Hello Master I am in the process of building my dream family home and reading through the web I could not find a definitive answer regarding the front door and front gate alignment. I am looking to build the gate similar to the photos that is attached. Please provide some insight as to this placement is good or bad or is there something that can be done to counter the bad. I know that the design of the wrought iron should have no sharps spear heads. Do you require more information such as floor plans or direction of front door? Thanking you in advance.

Dear Anon, 1. Feng Shui encompasses various aspects, including the environment, the site, and the interior of the home. 2. All of the aforementioned factors have an impact on Feng Shui. 3. In my view, there is no problem with airing shirts and pants, especially if they are not excessively soiled. This is a common practice in the real world. 4. Given that not all of us live in an ideal environment, as long as a room is adequately maintained, I personally do not see this as an issue. 5. Many of us have read Feng Shui books that advise against placing a TV set facing the bed, as it is considered inauspicious. The rationale is that when one sle…

Dear Shifu, We are looking at to buy a unit at Eco Sanctuary with true North South facing. The living room face South and the kitchen (per layout) looks like to be in the NW sector. The door face West when you stand at the door looking out. As these are quite new to us, may I know base on the layout, if the kitchen is indeed in the Northwest? If yes, what can we do about it? Both my husband and I are west group people. It looks like the master bedroom in the SE sector isn't ideal? Thank you Shifu!

Hello, I'm looking to buy a house but I have been told it is an out of trigram house and advised not to buy it. However, the house is perfect for me on so many levels and it's layout and location is very good, feng shui wise. Where I live, it is very hard to find a house with good feng shui layout and good feng shui surroundings. Should I give up on the house because it is out of trigram? It is also a reversed house according to the flying stars for both possible readings but the cures for important areas are the same i.e. metal. Also, would restumping, changing carpets in the bedrooms, changing the kitchen floor, re-sanding the living room floor, changing the f…

Dear Thambyrajah, This area i.e. house number especially for landed properties comes more to numerology. It is hard to say whether, no. 14 is good or bad because, there are various interpretations (good or bad on 14, or 1 + 4 ) combination. Overall, Feng Shui is a holistic method and encompasses much more than just house numbers. The physical location and compass school techniques are usually used to look at the horizontal and vertical scope of the house and others such as one's element and strength. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Actually, in my opinion, it depends. This is because, in Feng Shui, we often see homes on a hill. The advise here is that homes should not be on extremely steep hill side. Often a gentler slop is preferred. In such a situation, we can imagine your question. Here, for some homes on a slope, we do notice that the opposite is true! The back of the house is higher than the front. Usually, in my opinion, it has more to do with the "design" of the home. The reason why it is very important under Flying Star Feng Shui to find out where is the facing and sitting direction, has to do with : How best we can tap beneificial qi into the home. In a few of my recent wri…

Hi Master Lee, My bed is currently against the wall due to the rectangular shape of my room and I understand that it is not ideal as energy flows from one side only and it may impact opportunities of finding a partner as well. I am thinking of rearranging my bed and study/work desk as per the image below. However, the “beam” will be above my bed and study/work desk if I shift to the below layout. Would you recommend I stick to the current layout or shift to the potential layout? Thank you!

Dear Master, Just a general enquiry on door sizes and if there are any concerns. My main door is 7 ft high while I intend to install a sliding glass door separating the dry and wet kitchen. This however is 9 ft high. The location of the main door and sliding glass door is not aligned. However, I did heard that it is best to keep the main door as the biggest. As such, is it advised to reduce the height of the sliding glass door opening to 7 ft, with 2ft fixed glass panel? Or is it ok to still keep the glass door 9 ft high? Thanks and really appreciate the advice.

1. In my opinion; other than the colour and colour-tones in your illustration; 2. No. THREE would have the least "adverse" comments. 3. As I had mentioned previously, often in many situations; it has more to do with people's taste and how much adverse comments (if any). 4. Technically, no. will often not have any adverse comments. 5. The most subjective would therefore be no. ONE. 6. Again, there is no right or wrong answers, here.

Dear Anne, True Feng Shui is not like `Credit Card' Feng Shui. One do not need to `purchase' something in advance in the hope that spending such money would get one riches. If one is not sure of where to place a picture of a waterfall, one should try not to place it. The other method is if one feels comfortable about it and really like the picture and have to `urge' to place it at a location. Ideally, pictures of water falls should not be placed in a bedroom. The more professional method is to use e.g. Flying Star to check if a sector has balance or imbalance. This theory can be used to check if there is or do not have an imbalance. If there is an imbalance and it is cau…

Hi Cecil, First I wanted to thank you for the incredible wealth of information and guidance you publish on your site. I might say this is the best source of Feng Shui information I have found on the internet. I also really appreciate your modern common sense interpretations of the concept of facing. Due to this - I tried to do my own DIY assessment using a combination of the different schools. Our home is being built and move in date will be mid-2024 so I use period 9 facing SE2 for Flying star. I have a couple of questions I hope you might offer some of your expertise on. I’m trying to ask them in a way that might also be useful for other people on the for…
