Dear Linda, If you are applying The Eight House Theory in Feng Shui, you can browse thru this resource located at: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/house1.htm a. Here, you must first determine or locate the centrepoint of the house. b. From this centrepoint take a compass reading aimed at the main entrance door. Reference material on how to get the centrepoint of the house: http://www.geomancy.net/resources/art/art-cecilcompass.htm c. Based on the above method, you would have then drawn the North--South grid of the compass direction and East--West grid. From this grid, you can then find out where is your bedroom located. For example, it could be the SE sector - as mentioned bel…

Dear Rameshwaran, Please see below:- 1. If it is the bedroom, then allow as much `clear space' around the centre area of the bedroom. 2. There is usually no way to squeeze out enhancements at sectors that one should not activate water positions e.g. in the bedroom. 3. This is equally similar to mountain stars - found. 3.1 For example: If a mountain star is found at the frontage of the house e.g. main entrance - as much as we would like to `activate' something e.g. a mountain star to activate luck -- this is not possible or feasbile. 3.2 "It is like placing a mountain at the frontage" of the house. Where water or clear space is required." 4. Therefore, it is best a…

  3. Started by myfs_77997,

Dear Rameshwaran, To cure a missing corner at SW, ideally, it would be best to place a long mirror on one of the walls at SW to symbollically extend it. As you have mentioned, another method is to place a windchime overhead at the corner ceiling to extend it. It is better or preferred to use a 6 rod hollow metal windchime than a wooden windchime. In addition to the above; you may want to consider using Flying Star Feng Shui and apply it to your home. In some instances, depending on the period your house was built and direction of main entrance; there can be sector influences relating to romance `problems'. NOTE: Not all houses may have such combinations but if there are,…

Dear Chee Tiong, Please see below:- In my opinion, nowadays, you will definitely not have difficulty purchasing books related to " Shapes and Form " Feng Shui as they are a plenty. Majority of the books (there are so many of them) should help to understand on the site and the buidling or home. And on interior placement. Step 1: Find out the aim and purpose of each concept/idea. Step 2: What is it's strength Step 3: What is it's weakness Frankly, even today, whenever, I answer or try to visualise the various concepts; I always think of these three steps. To see if which concept or idea can relate to most of us. Furthermore, in Feng Shui, there are so many concepts …

Dear Veronique, 1. Although, further investigations may be required e.g. such as looking at the birth chart using say Flying Star. 2. However, under Shapes and Form Feng Shui observation, a good colour would be white or off-white or shades of white. Which represents the metal element. Try to avoid pink/purple or red or shades of this colour. 3. If blue colour is ever used here -- this has carefully evaluated especially under Para 1. Blue can go both ways - i.e. it can either be used to " create " wealth or alternatively be a double edged sword i.e. like hot and cold (blue vs red). Much investigation may be required if this colour is used. 4. Alternative colours can be us…

  6. Dear Hoa Luong, Yes, not so much of Feng Shui but roller shutter e.g. aluminum pull-down are good security measures to protect or act as a deterent - for the glass panels. This quite a common feature even in my country and many shops use them without any ill effects on Feng Shui. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  7. Started by myfs_66874,

Dear Marko, Frankly, I was thinking very hard about your senario. Since it is a shared wall and not a house or frontage facing each other; in my opinion, there is not much one can do here. A Metal `cure' is used usually, if there is an imbalance e.g. on the shared wall of your bedroom. Otherwise, it is not normally used. As for Feng Shui, it is correct that one should avoid placement of plants or water fountain in the bedroom. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Patricia, If you have a bed between the bedroom door and the bedroom, you can place a side table with a table lamp. The table lamp and the side table will be symbolic of a partition between the two. Other than this, a screen can be used. If this is not possible or feasible to do so then there is not much that can be done other than to close the bathroom door when not in use. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anil, In my opinion, what you described is minor or really not much of an issue as it is felt that the movement of your personal vehicle is at low speed and unlike on a road. And would normally not cause Sha qi. Unless (I believe this is quite remote) that particular sector of the bedroom has a flying star combination of #2 with #3 (which would require `stillness' or `quietness' at that sector. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Hoa Luong, Thanks for your many clarifications. Yes, overall, red is considered an auspicious colour. From your information, I personally feel that it is OK for you to continue with the red painted frontage doors of your convenience store. And this should not have any adverse contrast with the `water' grey colour. Overall, red is indeed an auspicious colour for business. In particular, for example, if it has brass ornaments on it (not compulsory thou). Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Konrad, 1. In my opinion, how suitable the house is to a person (breadwinner and family members) are but one of the many considerations for selecting a house. 2. This is the main reason why many people; are not able to take full advantage of Feng Shui to help them. But instead, nose dive into a vicious cycle of `hit & run'. 3. Therefore, we often see many of us dwell in micro aspects of Feng Shui. And forget totally about the macro aspects. It is akin to living or pretending to live in a house with four walls and forgetting that there is an external environment. 4. Quantum Leap in Feng Shui In order to achieve a quantum leap in Feng Shui, priority should go inst…

Dear Constantine, 1. Yes, from my personal experience with clients having problems with fish tank at the centre-point of the house. This has been mentioned in several of the past forum messages i.e. relating to health problems. 2. In my opinion, your family members are correct to advise you to remove the fish tank at the balcony. This is because, (if I believe) that it is kinda of tall and not `flat' e.g. pond. 3. When a fish tank is tall, it no longer `behaves' like e.g. clear space or provide clear space. Unlike a pond or a pool of water. In fact, it becomes or acts more like a mountain effect. Imagine, having a `mountain' right in-front of the balcony - where there sho…

  16. Started by myfs_78389,

Dear Kathleen, Yes, too much light e.g. from glass walls have a negative effect. As it creates too much `Yang energy'. Unlike normal walls that can absord some of the `yang energy'; too much glass relects and bounce light causing an unbalanced effect. Ideally, renovation should be done to correct this. If this is not possible, then plants can be used to counter or absorb some of it. But if the panels of glass covers a large area, more plants may be needed (and this may not be feasible). Alternatively, one may have to consider hanging posters or painting on each side of the wall to neutralise the dispersion of light. (The ideal situation is to renovation as mentioned earl…

    Started by Guest Anonymous,

Dear Anon, 1. There is a difference between 2-3 and 3-2. 2. It is best to as you had mentioned keep quiet for a 2-3 (2mountain 3water) combination. 3. If it is the opposite i.e. 3-2, then this is considered a separate combination from 2-3. Thus one can still use constant effect of metal here. 4. Just last week, I had a client who had her master bedroom located at the East. She had constant health problems. The recommended cure is to: a. Use two separate sets of 6-coins at a distance of 1-2 metres each e.g. place one 6-coin at a corner and another 6-coins 1 metre to 2 metres away. In addition, if one is using a wind chime, it should be placed outside the window. Alternat…

  20. Dear Wendy, In my opinion, I personally feel that your question is too general. This is because, a house Feng Shui would depend on various factors involving: Shapes and Form and Compass School Feng Shui. And since no two houses are the same; more information would be required. Perhaps, when you have found a `suitable' house, or prior to this, you can in the mean-time, if you are using the Compass School Feng Shui; e.g. use the Eight House theory to see which room would be best for your dad's recovery. And later on if you have questions on the Shapes and Form of a house that you `like'; feel free to post more questions/advise relating to the house. Wishing your dad a spee…

Dear Wasis, 1. In my opinion, we hae to look at priorities or weighing of priorities in such cases. 2. Under the grand duke theory, it is more important to: avoid touching or disturbing the grand duke e.g. at South (this year - begining 12 February 2002). 3. For example, before; this coming Chinese New Year, I was " working hard " trying to maintain my garden e.g. digging earth at that location because it is situated at South of my house. I would (avoid like the plague) digging earth at that sector for the better period of this Lunar Year). 4. For the Grand Duke Theory, e.g. when fighting a war etc... we can continue to apply the `rule' i.e. to avoid confronting him i.e. …

Dear Sheila, In my opinion, luck corners or `sector' Feng Shui or paying homage to corners are equally "non-existent' or unreliable / undependable situations. This is considered a modern invention is too general to be of use for many of us. You should treat the small figurine as a decor item in your home. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  23. Started by myfs_78415,

Dear Tegoeh, In my opinion, Feng Shui if properly applied can help boost one's luck i.e. health, harmony and prosperity. But, I would not recommend quick fix ideas; unless one has already been `blessed' with good earth luck e.g. excellent Shapes and Form Feng Shui of the house - which can give a quantum leap in Feng Shui. Otherwise, one may have to do much of the investigative work to try to boost one's Feng Shui. Therefore, if one is doing D.I.Y. Feng Shui then, one have to spent some time to:- 1. Shapes and Form Although we cannot change much of our external environment, we can try to find out and enhance or neutralise threats to the site/house from any poison arrows o…

Dear Grace, 1. Chinese Astrology signs:- a. 27 Jan 1971 to 14 Feb 1972 = Year of the Metal Pig. b. 17 Feb 1969 to 5 Feb 1970 = Year of the Earth Rooster. 2. Under the Chinese Astrology, the Pig is more compatible (excellent) match with the animal sign of the RAM (2003). 3. For the Year of the Horse, both the Pig and the Rooster has to be more understanding and tolerant of the Horse sign. 4. In my opinion, under Ba Zi (Pillars of Destiny) - the Year and Day of birth are considered important for `compatibility' purposes. Thus, even if say one is thinking of having a child (in a year); it boils down to not only the Year of birth but on which day, the child is also born. Thes…

  25. Started by myfs_66874,

Dear Marko, 1. One would rarely if ever find Chinese lanterns with symbols of `autumn' or `winter' as symbollically these are not suitable on Red Chinese Lanterns. 2. In fact, symbolism is important in Feng Shui and you can in-fact, use the globe Chinese lanterns (with spring and summer) all year round. And change them when their colour fade-out or their material worn out. Furthermore, red is considered an auspicious colour and can be used all-round the year. And it does not necessarily mean that during different seasons, one may have to change colour e.g. black or white = winter (colour). Warmest Regards, Cecil
