Dear Anthi, It is best to grow plants in a garden. In my opinion, for plants grown e.g. on the balcony, or interior of the house e.g. in an apartment/flat it would depend on the type of indoor plant. Not all outdoor or plants that require sunlight can be grown in the house. It would therefore be nice if one has an area in the flat or apartment for natural sunlight to flow and open space especially the balcony area where rain water can at times `splash' on them. For indoors, in my opinion, planting plants can be quite tedious if there is not enough sunligh. And one may often need to bring them out to sun. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Marinella, For the work orientation of office table, you can use the Free report: " Work position Report " at http://www.geomancy-online.com to check which is the best favourable direction of your office table. (To help best position your table). However, do take note that in the application of Feng Shui, there are lots more rulesets that need to be considered. For example, I feel that it is more important to give first priority to position of the work-top based on Shapes and Forms Feng Shui. If you using the Eight House Theory, it is best also to generate the Free Eight House report to see which room is best for you. Under the Eight House Theory, this is of primary…

Dear Anon, Based on Shapes and Form Feng Shui, it is best to place the fountain either within or at the balcony area (of the frontage). In Flying Star Feng Shui, we usually use it to locate the water stars e.g. #1's + #7's. However, if we are not using Flying Star but basing more on `intuition' then: 1. As mentioned earlier, if you balcony `has an opening' the fountain can be located at usually the `east' side or when one is facing or looking out of the balcony, try to locate it a the `east' side wall or open space. 2. Besides the balcony, and if you have an alternative `large frontage' especially if you house is rectangular in shape, the fountain can be located again at …

Dear Kieren, 1. Ideally, the compatibility of two persons is good: normally one common binding element is sufficent. 2. However, there are many different combinations. As you have given an example: WEAK vs WEAK i.e. weak fire vs weak water. Here, the binding element would have to be two binding elements: wood and water element: where wood is a necessity here. Where wood must be need to strength the weak fire person and to offset the introduction of water for weak water person. With this two elements, it will form a combination flow i.e. water -> wood -> fire (flow). 3. Therefore, any of the permutations of: WEAK VS WEAK WEAK VS STRONG or STRONG VS WEAK STRONG VS S…

Dear Michael, Currently, it is pre-mature for me to confirm which is correct. 1. Overall, Red is considered an auspicious colour). However, (red) doors are featured predominantly in many Chinese buildings (especially guarded with the two lion figurines on either side of the main entrance. Therefore, since this is considered an auspiciuos colour - to some people it means wealth or being prosperous and lucky. 2. Red is considered the most Yang of all the colours and represents the fire element. This is perhaps why some consider it `anger' as fire can mean `flaring up of temper' etc... 3. Therefore, in each case e.g. colour of red signifies prosperity while on the other hand…

Dear Tina, Thank you for sharing with us your information. Yes, especially for those in US, it is always prudent to check the credentials of any "FS practitioner" first. As you have mentioned, by asking a few questions; one can have a feel of the person at the other end. I understand that you are on disability income. If you are able to take personal reading e.g. from the centre-point to the main entrance; we would most certainly be glad to provide you the necessary Free credits i.e. Free "paid reports". To help you. Actually most of our paid reports were specificially written for our own professional audit use. And, we feel that it is similar to us being present to do th…

Dear Becky, 1. Yes, you brought up a good point. Often, you will see Feng Shui practitioners analysing a birth chart of a house. Without due consideration of e.g. two parties (husband and wife) sharing a room. 2. Please check out this url:- http://www.geomancy.net/reports/reports-list/cmplist-comparison-pillars-rep.htm 3. This sample report gives a comparison of e.g. husband (strong metal) and wife (weak wood). The binding elements to get the two parties to be compatible or reduce conflict is Water element. 4. Thus, this is known as the `binding' element. And it is recommended that for the bedroom of the two persons; we can use the binding element of water. And if they ow…

Dear Anon, 1. In my opinion, it is crucial to analyse not only the house but also do a general survey of the site where the house is situated. 2. This is because, many times, we forget about the external environment. It is like doing up a wonderful house to come home to. But everything else outside of the house may be "crumbling". This may be an extreme interpretation, but the interior of the house is just one of the many aspects of good Feng Shui assessment. 3. Sometimes, simple things like standing at the front of the main door and looking out to check for poison arrows. And in turn, stand at each window and look out of the house to check for poison arrow(s). Poison arr…

Dear Hoa Luong, 1. Thank you for your description of the two rooms. 2. Under Ba Zi Feng Shui, the better room would still be at the West. As west is represented by the metal element as you are a weak water person. Your second best favourable sector is North. 3. Overall, it is secondary or minor concern if any on where your kitchen/garage dinning room etc.. is in relation to the room you are choosing for your office. So long as the Flying Star of the house is looked at and imbalances cured, this is not much of an issue. 4. For the room in the west, my only concern here is the afternoon sun. If the walls of the room is heated say around afternoon to around 5.00pm and if say…

Dear Margie, A rectangular bedroom is good. Please see below:- You may still have the bed face the door. But avoid the `coffin position' where one's feet directly faces the bedroom door. This is where the whole body is parallel with the wall and when one enters the bedroom door, see the entire peron's feet and body in a straight line. Otherwise, it is still acceptable for the bed to be facing the bedroom door. It should be that our head should be able to look at the bedroom door and see who is coming in. Yes, you can have the dresser with mirror placed along the side of the bed. And not let it face any part of the bed. This is considered acceptable. Warmest Regar…

  14. Dear Chee Kin, 1. Under the Eight House theory, there is not much one can do. This theory is meant more for the time where one is chosing a house. And when doing so, it is used to look at how sutiable the house is and also help us see if the various rooms are suitable. 2. Usually, if one has constant problems such as frequent health problems; perhaps, you may like to look at the use of another theory: The Flying Star theory. While the Eight House Theory looks at individuals or a person's best houses/direction. The Flying Star looks at the birth chart of the house to see if the sectors are balanced. It is good for:- a. If one has constant health related problems; it most l…

Dear Chris, Overall, the toilet sha qi is in the way of your office and home. To be honest, there is not much one can do here other than to e.g. move out of the office. (Especially the office space). Using mirrors can be a double-edged sword. If the sector happens to be a bad sector; it may bounce back twice the bad luck. And at the moment, if you are not sure of the effects, try not to make it `worse' - should the mirrors inadvertenly bounce back twice the bad luck. Overall, if there is some cure, I would be most happy to share with you but as you are aware, it demands something `physical' such as relocating the toilet or if this is not possible, moving out at the soone…

  16. Dear Vivek, Thank you for your sketch of your hosue. Based on your sketch, your entrance to your house should be considered. And in your sketch it looks like East. And not NNE which is the entrance of the building. Please note that the Eight House Theory is meant more to find out how suitable the house is to you and your family members. And it is good if one spents time at that sector. Especially if the sector is the bedroom. The Eight House theory is about people living in the house. The Flying Star can be used to check on the birth chart of the house and find out and neutralise what's wrong with the house. And the Flying Star is about examining and fixing the imbala…

Dear Anon, A kitchen located in the prosperity sector is ok. One need to look out instead for the following:- 1. Avoid any parts of the stove being supressed by ceiling beam above it. 2. Water pipes should not criss-cross along the stove. (It should be hidden from view). 3. For the stove; the knobs should face upwards towards the ceiling (in a neutral position) especially if the stove face `outwards' of the main entrance of the house. 4. If the kitchen is at the North sector, it is best that the stove does not face a water position. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Kamini 1. In my opinion, many of us are led wrongly to believe that our romance sector is at the South-West. 2. In fact, many book authors and those who sell things to enhance that sector are infact the only ones " Laughing to the Bank ". 3. It is certainly sad to see this situation. 4 Let us look at an illustration:- 4.1 Let's say if three of us are young bachelor males working in any office. There is a new lady colleague who has just joined us. 4.2 One of us would place a mandarin duck in the South-West sector. For me, I may have palced 12 roses at South-West sector. 4.3 The third male colleague, who knew of what three of us are doing; try to out bid the two of …

Dear Elizabeth, In my opinion, the placemetn of e.g. family moneybox does not feature prominently in many schools of Feng Shui.' The only school of Feng Shui which is related more towards buddhism i.e. buddhist belief of the Eight Treasures. Feng Shui practitioners with such buddhist inclination often make use of the term Eight Treasures. And in fact, they ask their clients to bury e.g. the Eight Treasures (prior) to the house being ready at the main entrance and corners of e.g. the living room. I believe, you treasure your family moneybox and do not want to see it `buried'. As shown in the above example. You can choose to place your family moneybox in the living room or…

  20. Dear Desiree, Thanks for your clarification. In my opinion, stairs leading down may not necessariy mean bad energy. However, it has to be looked on a case-by-case basis. For example, in Singapore's Business District, there are some office buildings where were purposely built such that every one has to walk down (as you have described) to the lobby. And here, they either have one of the e.g. three elevators or (stairs) to their office that is more than 18 floors high. An example is the `Tong Eng' Building at Cecil Street in Singapore. The rationale here is that contrary to popular notations; many developments or buildings are of this design for two main reasons: 1. Because…

Dear Angelica, 1. Usually, such bad luck or misfortune arises from the Feng Shui of the previous owner's house. Especially if the house has a missing corner at the North sector of their exisiting home. Or where at a specific situation when the accident of the son could be due to the concentration of Flying Stars #5 x 2 or more either in the 20 year or yearly or even monthly charts. 2. In my opinion, the bad luck most likely will not be passed on. However, since you intend to go into business; it would be prudent to look at the Flying Stars of this shop space for your restaurant. With regards to any sectors that may have too yin a sectors. And if so, it should be cured. …

  23. Hi Cecil, Now that I know where the center of my house. I have a few more questions: 1) Is the direction for my bedrooms related to the house center? Example, my master bedroom is located in the southwest sector of the house and my master bathroom is located in the south sector of the house. Can I assume that my master bedroom faces southwest and my master bathroom faces south? 2) The master bedroom is right above 1/3 portion of the garage. Is that bad and what's the cure? 3) The master bathroom's toilet is right above the front door (which sits in the South "spook" sector and my gua number is seven). Dear Anon, To be frank, it is quite difficult for me to give a definite answer as to whether it is Ok to paint the inside red. This is because, in a FS audit, many considerations are taken into consideration. If a deeper analysis is not required, then, perhaps, one may have to rely on one's six sense or ask family members for their comments. Warmest Regards, Cecil
