In fact, it is also good for the enviroment; ie. active recycling. Hi Master Lee, My bed is currently against the wall due to the rectangular shape of my room and I understand that it is not ideal as energy flows from one side only and it may impact opportunities of finding a partner as well. I am thinking of rearranging my bed and study/work desk as per the image below. However, the “beam” will be above my bed and study/work desk if I shift to the below layout. Dear Anon, Thanks for the sketch! The "overhead" beam that you had mentioned (illustrated) is very common situation. If one looks carefully, with a pillow, the head will (never) be under this beam. If so, there is no issue at all! It is not the same as having an overhead beam right across one's body or the overhead beam is in the middle of the bed. If so, this is a concern. Some traditional Feng Shui Practitioners (with a religious flair) would instead `protect' the main entrance e.g. with charms or the traditional Ba Gua mirror. Dear Anon, Since Grand Duke resides at the West, this year, best not to as you had mentioned not to antagonise the Grand Duke, here. Majority of normal homes don't often use "red dragons" to guard the home. Using dragons to guard the home is thus not common place. Best to avoid placing one at the West entrance. In terms of which elements to use at a specific sector, it is best to use the Flying star numbers to deduce whether a sector can or cannot use red rather than assume that because West = metal = white = tiger, then red = fire to be used here to control metal. In my opinion, these are two considerations:- 1.1 Even under Flying Star Feng Shui, there is a base #8 at that sector. And under Period 8, #8 is the reigning number does help greaterly. 1.2.
