Dear Bonnie, I truly understand your problem. It is never easy to apply Feng Shui to a small apartment. Usually, for small apartments, we cannot really do much and have to rely on the Feng Shui influences of the entire building. Enhancing Qi (by whatever means) in a small apartment can thus be frustrating or furtile. In most instances, or for such cases, our individual LUCK (since Feng Shui is about some form of LUCK) would help us. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Under the Eight House Theory; there is not much one can do i.e. as the Eight House Theory is not directly related to the Five Elements where imbalances can be neutralised. Other considerations under the Eight House Theory include - what is the `intangible' force at the main entrance of the door - to determine (or one way of finding out) how suitable the house is to the owner. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Pam, 1. In my opinion, what you had mentioned is not exactly true in all situations. 2. Since no two situations (or homes) are exactly the same, therefore, an appropriate term should be " It depends". This is also called situational approach towards reviewing each homes. 3. For example, I know of many homes in a cul-de-sac that has been properly "configured". For example, even if it is at a cul-de-sac, the frontage is usually a long driveway towards the "inner" part i.e. the main entrance or home is right "inside" this cul-de-sac. 4. In the past, I had posted a sample case study of a home at the cul-de-sac - somewhere close to Woo Mun Chew Road, Siglap, Singapore…

Dear George, No, it is meant for high-rise buildings - where it was felt that qi is different at different levels. Therefore this theory can besaid as "a vertical Flying star theory". While the regular Flying star takes into account "horizontal Flying star analysis. Warmest Regards Cecil

Dear Jonathan, Currently, we are looking at it from the point of view of Shapes and Form Feng Shui. As `corner' or `sector' Feng Shui e.g. South-West = Romance/relationship sector can be quite misleading. This type of `sector' Feng Shui; in my opinion is too general to be considered applicable to everyone. However, if we use Shapes and Form, (as a `replacement' to this `sector' Feng Shui; we are concerned with the placement of the bed in-relation to the bedroom. It is always best to place the bed on the opposite wall of the bedroom door provided there is not a window there. If there is a window, there; then there should be a gap between the bed and the window. In Shapes a…

1. In my opinion, not sure if you have knowledge or may need to seek help from a Feng Shui point of view. 2. Often, the problem can be corrected especially by applying Flying Star Feng Shui: #3 May need to disarm this "bad wood" element. #5 misfortune (and sickness) stars. 3. If Flying Star Feng Shui is applied, and once one disarms especially these two nasty stars, it will certainly alleviate the problem! 4. Sorry, it is not within this scope of this forum to work out the chart for your home nor dwell deeper into it as no two homes arethe same and such things needs full analysis and work. Quote: Anonymous wrote: Can someone please help me. Since I moved into a …

Dear Elena, You may have to do some homework and approach a Feng Shui Master to work out the terms of reference for the study / tutorship and accomodation. This also includes the individual country's visa restrictions on employment if any. In most part of the Far East, one should be expected to have some knowledge in Mandarin. For those who are going to Hong Kong, most likely must know some Cantonese - at least. Today, you may expected to pay quite a tidy sum or even may expect to be rejected outright for a 1:1 type of course. Usually, you would end up taking a course with a group of participants for e.g. a few days only. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Philip, Frankly, in my opinion; the hand-me-downs you mentioned perhaps has more to do with co-incidence, than anything else. This is because logically, such items do not seem to pass down an illness or a situation. I would strongly thing that the hand-me-downs is not really a major issue. But, it is no harm playing safe - not to hand it over to your new born. So far, the incomplete picture is that Flying Star feng shui has SE as #5 at this sector. Please check to see if the room does not have earth tones especially yellow, cream or beige or fire tones e.g. red, pink or purple in this room. As these two elements are not favourable for this lunar year at SE. Wishing y…

Dear Elena, Frankly, in the past, many FS practitioners are concerned about corner units - especially units that are "hidden" from view. This was because, perhaps, if the home is in a undeveloped area, it was felt that such a home may be affected by "theft" or thieves climbing into the home. Therefore, the above is based on such a commonsense approach to Feng Shui. But nowadays, with modern survillenance anddeterent, such as survillenance equipment and active or passive safe-guard, this is no longer a major issue. More importantly, under the "Water Classic", it is good to check out that water can flow or be seen to flow into the front of the home. But, behind the home,…

Hi, It might help you to go to a local library and see if they have any books on FS. I say this because you generally need to figure out your KUA number, which is based on your year of birth. Once you have this, the book will list your best directions and locations. This site also has links that may help you determine your directions and recommendations for books. Hope this helps, -j

Dear Anon, Please see below:- Facing `West' is considered more a `nice-to-have'. It is nice to face West but priority must be given to say spending time at a good sector. If your body and say the legs can be seen from the main door e.g. parallel to it; this is known as the `coffin' position. And considered inauspicious under Shapes and Form Feng Shui Shui. If this is the bedroom ideally not to use plants especially life plants. As plants grown and they are considered `more yang' engergy. Which is not so good. It also depends on how far this is this protusion. If the protusion is not aimed at any part of the body (on the bed) this is fine. Some users here, have ind…

Dear Hoa Luong, Please see below:- For a Period 7 house, the effect is aggreviated by bad stars for this year. Thus if this year has an extra Year #5, then a better cure is to use a 6 rod metal wind chime. And a 6 piece i-ching coin can also be hang at that particular sector. Usually, this would help to neutralise that sector. As for your mum, it is still OK. However, it is best that the room decor match her Ba Zi. And where possible, water element (blue/black or grey) or green should not be outstanding. Yes, if there is a #5 for this Year, it should help greatly. And after this Horse Year, the wind chime is not necessary. A person should not be counted as par…

Dear Mr Ng, 1. Based on the information provided. I have run a flying star (xuan kong chart for your home). 2. These are my findings:- 2.1 In addition to what was mentioned earlier, the flying star chart for your home equally shows another `leak' based on the time dimension. 2.2 Under your current home Period 7 flying star chart because you have a mountain star #5 at the front of your home, this is associated with "loss of money and misfortune". 2.3 Based on this current Period 7 chart, it is not advantages to activate any water in your living room or balcony area) as much of the cures relating to this home are not from water - element. 3. For your home, give the confirma…

Dear Gemini, If one goes strictly by the five element concept: 1. 8 goldfishes plus 1 black 8 represents earth, 1 represent water There is no real beneficial relationship here. 8 Earth is then exhausted by the goldfish (metal), and water later exhaust the metal. Though, it forms Earth - No major significance. Often based on phonetic sounding, 9 or 8 are better sounding. 10 sometimes is referred as 1 and 0 and sometimes people don't like zero. 3. Under period 7, often feng shui masters would recommend 7 + 1. Where 7 is weak metal, 1 is water. And this is a harmonious productive combination. 4. However, under period 8, you might like to consider 6 + 1, which is 6…

Dear Jack, There are two ways to see the use of water in Feng Shui:- 1. On a scientific basis, water positions is looked at in conjuction with Feng Shui theories : Shapes and Forms & Flying Star. In particular, under Flying Star, locations where metal elements have been detected, water can be used to enhance such "metal locations". Thus a combination of water with metal can help here. 2. On a non-scientific basis, one would have to visualise locations one can place a fish tank at. Usually, since it is a tall object, it is placed along a wall. And in most homes in the living room area. 3. Never place a fish tank at the centre location of a home. As this would affect fa…

Hi Anon, Please see below:- The priority you should be taking is as follows:- A. The house should be 1st suitable to the breadwinner (your husband). Since both of you are of opposite EIght House, which by the way is a common issue for most people. Likely it is not your death or disaster sector which would be worst. B. Next, you should then focus on choosing a a bedroom that hopefully is suitable for the two of you. However, in most cases, it would be hard to find it as it would likely again be such a case where your husband is good and your is bad. So you can try to choose a bedroom if possible where either of the following:- 1. Good for you and maybe irritation for y…

Dear Heiddy, I can only say this "Life is short" so live it to the fullest. Frankly, reading too many books can: 1. bring fear or confusion 2. lead to auto-suggestion 3. worse still - self-fulfilling prophecy. I have actually elaborated on a simple example: 1. Many of us read books that say that our spirit wanders out of our body, sees itself in the mirror; and gets a shock! 2. But, wait! What happens if our spirit is the "extrovert" type. It wants to check itself in the mirror. If the hair is out of place, wants to comb, itself to look nice before, wandering off? 3. It is ridiculous senario to remove the TV set in the bedroom, if we have had it for most of our life! 4. S…
