Dear Lynn, Yes, the productive cycle is often the easiest to understand. But for the destructive cycle, sometimes the term may be misleading. Actually, this cycle can also be considered as a "Wealth" cycle. For example: A strong water person: His best elements are : Wood, Fire andEarth. If one looks carefully at the destructive cycle: Water destroys Fire. Here, it simply means that Water is used to dowse fire to produce wealth. Thus, for a strong water person, his two best elements are: 1. Wood (green or brown) - most harmonious colour 2. Fire (red, purple or pink) - his wealth colour. For a weak water person: this is opposite: his best elements are: Metal and …

Dear Anon, If you are entering data into the reports under www.geomancy-online.com then, you should simply enter your western calendar date of birth. As our reports will automatically convert (use the Lunar calendar to evaluate). Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, 1. Usually, there is no impact on your home especially if it is an ancient or old site. 2. So long as it is not a location of mass masacare or tragedy; there is relative of no concern. 3. On the safe side, if your building is e.g. red brickwalls, this is considered most yang and is one of the `safeguards'. Alternatively, consideration is for painting the exterior of the main door (if it is facing that direction) red. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Edna, 1. Feel free to use the manual method of determining your Gua (kua) number at:- http://www.geomancy.net/fs/house1.htm or 2. Use all the various Free Eight House (East/West Group) of person's reports at the following website:- http://www.geomancy-online.com In the above link, you can generate almost any type of Gua (Kua) related Free reports e.g. Eight House Report Sleeping Positions Office seating positions Gua Number etc... Actually, you should learn more about Ba Zi or Pillars of Destiny (Ba Zi). The rationale because, East / West group of persons is only based on just the year of birth. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Don't worry, even in a relatively safe country like Singapore, more homes have bars installed - than not. As this is a deterent, there should not be an issue, here. Within the home, appropriate interior decor e.g. use of curtains or blinds etc... can easily off-set the ugly sight of the bars. The morale of the story? " YOU ARE NOT ALONE WITH THIS ISSUE! ". Warmest Regards, Cecil P.S. The only major concern for bars in an apartment is that often, some of these bars in a room should be able to be opened (can also be locked) in case, of a fire. The fireman should be able to cut-open the lock - as a means of escape. A fully fixed bar grille, is often not a good ide…

Dear Sophia, In my opinion, what you had mentioned has more to do with perception / symbolic gesture of "dignity" accorded to the statues be it alive or "dead". Where possible, often, it is placed in the living room facing the seat/sofa. Thus, it is best to place the figurines on a proper display area e.g. on the shelf or display table etc.. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, 1. The word "Hai" refers to the term " Water " 2. If it is a dragon, the word behind the sculpture should instead be " LONG " or dragon 3. For the word " SU " Chinese characters or words close to it. So, here, it can mean many things. What is the relationship of the Serpent and Dragon in Chinese beliefs? It is said that in Chinese folk lore, after 500 years of exisitence a SEA SERPENT transform and becomes a SCALY Dragon. Another transformation is after 1000 years when this SCALY Dragon becomes a horned Dragon. Again after another 1000 years, it becomes a Dragon with wings. In my opinion, your figure has this saying: "Encourage one to be diligent" *JOKE* Not su…

Dear Joji, It is like "sucking on" a baby's comforter. If it makes one more "comfortable", it is ok to hang one. Frankly no harm from it. But don't purposely hang one the size of an ostrich egg. If it falls and hits on one's head, can sure give an amnesia. Else, one may have to place a "HARD HAT" sign for anyone passing thru it. *JOKE* Basically, any material is acceptable (SO LONG) as it is reasonably priced. Better steel if it is cheap! Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Pam, Please refer to my previous message on this. Yes, Feng Shui does not know which is the facing direction. But rather, as mentioned in the earlier message, suppose if the living room or areas of activity are concentrated here, or there is a patio opened out from the living or even family room. These sort of activities, that make it pronounced that the home is facing the back. And where imagine, once we close the main entrance door, literally, we are not over looking this part of the home. But, concentrate our family activites at the "back". Usually, this should be planned inadvance when developing the home. But once developed and if happens that the living r…

Dear Carlos, Please see below:- In my opinion, in your case, it is best to First-fix-the leak! What you had described i.e. your bedroom falling between NE and E with potent inauspicious combinatins of NE = M5 W9 and E = M5 W9 B5 Are very inauspicious combinations. Where 5 is already bad but fueling it with W9 is equally bad. As mentioned in a similar reply to this type of question, today (forum message): Try to: 1. Avoid using particularly YELLOW (earth) and / or FIRE (Red, pink or purple) within this room. 2. If need to use constant metal e.g. outside the bedroom window with a wind chime or other constant metal or even a glass jar filled with salt /six coins - please…

Hi Anon, This isa common situation for most people. However, this isn't the end of the world. 1. What you should be doing is to ensure that the house should suit the breadwinner (your husband). This is because the breadwinner provides for the family, so making sure that the breadwinner fits and suits is most important. 2. So for the bedroom you (the spouse) should then have a higher priority for a suitable bedroom while your husband can have a less suitable bedroom. Also, if possible not to have Death and Disaster if possible. This is how you give and take. Breadwinner takes priority for the main door facing, while the spouse will take better suitability to the bedro…

Dear Mitesh, Candles has been used in-the-past basically because there were simply no electricity i.e. no harm. The only caution is to stay clear of moving wind or curtains or anything close-by that can be inflammable. As candles give off heat, it is also about circulation of heat and air. Frankly a proper ventilated room can do as well (without) candles. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Spring, Please don't despair. With regards to the house Feng Shui, you mentioned that your bedroom is on the `east side'. Try to stand at the centrepoint of the house and use an ordinary compass to check to see if your bedroom is at the compass direction east. If your house was built or had a major renovation done between 1984 to 2003; most likely if your bedroom is at the `East'; for last year there will defintely be a Yearly #5 (misfortune and sickness) at that sector. This does not include at least a base #5 (misfortune and sickness) star at East. And usually there is another #5 or #2 in this location. If so, for Lunar New Year starting from 1 February 2003, the …

Dear Rich, For apartment above high floor, it is common that you should take the frontage of your home based on where most light comes into the house. This is often the living room balcony. So stand at your balcony and measure the compass direction and whatever that results. That is where your house frontage will be. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

Dear Anon, In my opinion, there are no perfect `EXCELLENT' house. If one finds that overall the house is comfortable and nice, go ahead and purchase it especially if the external shapes and form is good. If all family members feel nice with the house, chances are; it would be good/acceptable. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Michele, The key success factor here are: 1. Feng Shui or Earth Luck It is best to harmonize the bedroom to suit one's Ba Zi. For a married couple then go for the `binding' element (Do a SEARCH in this forum for the term: binding ) 2. What is Metal element: Metal element is white or gold. On a personal level, this can be the clothing or object e.g. some gold items e.g. jewellery or a chain. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dea Anooja, Please see below:- I am very glad that you find the site useful:) Some homes are still considered under Period 6. And if these homes have double 6's, they are considered still auspicious in another period. As long as no further renovation has been done after this period. The number #6 under any other period is considered auspicious. For homes, that are under Period 7, however, unfortunately, the #7 which in Period 7 is auspicious, will change back to it's original state i.e. robbery or theft star. Given this senario, under Period 8, it is better to check: 1. My home is under Period 7. Should I let it remain as Period 7 (same facing direction?) OR 2. Sh…

Hi Anon, In terms of beams, ideally it is best not to be able to see it if possible. Anonymous wrote: We have just finished building our dream house, actually its a loghouse so the problem is we have big beams over our beds and in the living room area, also we have a big log postsupporting the secondfloorareain the middle of the living room. So usually, two most efficient ways to go about it is to either have a false ceiling which will hide the beams. Or to have a bed with those canopy beds which you can place like curtain or cover on top. That should help you shield the beams from your view when you are sleeping on the bed. These two are two more practical ways rather…

Dear Anthony, Based on your description, in my opinion: No or there is no issue here. Unless, the furniture was fixed or built against the wall and such furniture may require some force or hacking to remove them. Otherwise, it is OK. Warmest Regards, Cecil

I am allocated a seatthat is directly below a ceiling beam. I believe that this is not a desirable position. All work stations are arranged in four straight rows with two rows facing each other, and the othe two facing the windows on the right and left walls of the room.Mine is the first from the main entrancein the second row, facing the third row (next to the main entrance). What can be done to improve the situation, please.

Dear Anon, When drawing a map or physically at the moment, it is not feasible to move the "qi of the centrepoint" since this is suppose to be the centre-of-gravity. Looks like you have to live with this wall. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, To be truly honest, unfortunately, there is no specific "cure" under Feng Shui. Wishing you all the best! Warmest Regards, Cecil Quote: Anonymous wrote: My condo has been on the market for 5 months now. So far there has been no offers due to the fact that my condo is next to a train. How can I attract a buyer to want to purchase?
