General Help

Seek General Advice from Master Cecil Lee

  1. Hello Cecil Lee, Thanks so much for providing such a concise and clear set of general feng shui information. I also appreciate that you use diagrams and pictures often. I am curious to know, if you have two windows next to each other (operable or not; I just labeled them in case it would reduce ambiguity), does the shared frame border highlighted in red below create a source of sha qi? Thanks!

  2. Hello My wife and I constantly having minor health issues that doesn’t go away and life obstacles and wondering if It is due to a point in a traffic sign directly facing our door. We have put up a 6 rod wind chimes in hope to stopping the bad energy. Is there any other solution other than trying to convince the city planner to move the sign (unlikely it is going to happen) that we can do? Thank you so much in advance Tony Hihee

  3. In this additional illustration: If Master bedroom belongs to SE? If so, where does East sector goes? Clue: there is such thing as : "Refer to SE", please.

    1. The main component relies on Geometric Patterns and Configurations. In Feng Shui, this is simply known as Shapes and Forms. 2. Many individuals, even without prior knowledge of Feng Shui, intuitively determine the ideal placement for their bed in a bedroom. 3. If our intuition conflicts with the technical guidelines but can still be accommodated, it is acceptable. 4. However, if adhering strictly to Feng Shui principles disrupts the natural flow of the bedroom, it is advisable to disregard the recommended bed placement. 5. It is preferable to have the bedroom in a favorable sector and even better to position the bed according to Feng Shui principles…

Hi Master Cecil, First of all, thank you for your insight on feng shui. My question is on the latest cool roof design. Recently I booked a double storey link semi-d cluster home in Malaysia. The roof design is as in the diagram attached. It's a flat metal roof with low angle for rain water and good drainage but surrounded by bricks on all sides. Besides weird, the colour will also be unauspiciously white or light-bluish. It's a metal roof with 3 layer insulation that supposedly reduces heat retention and noises from rain and reflecting the heat back up. The main point of this roofing is energy efficiency and easy construction. Furthermore the area is breezy and …

  6. I am looking at the stack 1 (3+study) for this condo. It has a private lift lobby and private pool . As according to the floor plan, though very squarish, the back of the private lift lobby is the yard area which leads to the back door to the common lift. May i know if the private lift lobby creates a missing corner for the house? Or the private lift lobby belongs to the house as well? Because the main door opens from the private lift lobby. Also is the location of the private swimming pool good feng shui? Does it add value to the property? Or the facing and direction is bad for the unit. Located across this project is also river valley primary school. Beside …

That is surely cute way to do this...... wonder what will they think of next *) Flush away bad karma at temple in Japan OTA CITY (JAPAN): Tired of an unsatisfying relationship, the sluggish economy or just your own bad habits? Now you really can flush it all down the toilet. The Mantokuji temple in Japan's central Gumma prefecture was once an asylum for women who wanted to cut ties with their husbands, a funtion now made obsolete by modern divorce laws and family courts. Not the temple is a museum chronciling the history of divorce as well as a place to help people get rid of any bad karma, via a piece of paper they drop into laterines. Vis…

  9. 1. Further to what I had mentioned; this is the template for what I had mentioned, previously in an earlier e-mail. 2. Comparing the sectors:- 2.1. For example from now to 2023 (Period 8); if the frontage is at North and a bedroom is located at e.g. East; 2.2. While from 2024 onwards to 2043b(Period 9); we find that the wealth stars had gone to South = toilet and there is a missing corner at SE; then when comparing the periods; From now to 2023, seems more auspicious then Period 9. 3. Thus logic says that one needs to compare the stars with sectors for either period to see which is considered better or worse-off or even no-change?

  10. Greetings, Master Lee, I understand the importance of positioning a bed in relation to bedroom door, windows and mirrors. However, a friend just commented that even though a bed is not facing a bedroom door, it is still bad fengshui if the head or foot of the bed points to the direction of the street/main gate/car port. My bed is in the middle of the house, not at the front side, which will understandably be noisy. Is my friend's comment true?

  11. Dear Mr. Cecil Lee, Recently, I have been researching on Feng Shui tips to set the fundamentals for my renovation design of my new property in Johor. However, there are some contradictions I faced, and I would hope you could offer your professional opinions. 1) Celestial Animals (Phoenix in front of house; Black Turtle at the back; Green Dragon on the left, and White Tiger on the Right) In particular, Green Dragon vs. White Tiger: I read that it is best to keep (Green Dragon) left side more active than the right, and the main gate is best to be located on the right side. However, for semi detached, the design is usually mirror image, and my unit happen…

This "light-weight" disabled lift system can be found at Fairprice, Marine Parade Central. Compared to a full blown lift, maybe one can consider installing such a lift. You can see that all one needs is a "hole" from one level to another. And the exterior is like any other room doors and wall panels.

  21. Hi, I would like to check on the Feng Shui of Fernvale Dew units for 2 rm flat. Is unit 342, Block 401E near T-junction or 401G unit 364 or 366, Block 401G a better choice?

  22. Dear Sophia, 1. Frankly, this really depends on how you define the Qi flow and what is it used under. 2. In houses, we are often talking about Qi flowing into the house. ie. your living room frontage faces East. 3. Qi or air will flow in from the West into the East? So don't you want Good Qi from East to flow into house as opposed to Bad Qi flowing in from West into your home? 4. That is why for our website, when we define facing direction we want good Qi to flow into the house and not bad Qi. 5. The other concept is useful for usually the Yin Feng Shui where you want to have lots of good Qi behind you so as to ward of the bad Qi. Thus, under Yin …

  24. Dear Master Cecil, I wish you well. Could you kindly help to differentiate between a period 7 or period 8 house. How does one determine a house as period 7 or period 8? The HDB flat that I am currently living is built in 1989, I moved in 2011, without much renovation, except changing the toilet door, and the toilet seat. Is this still consider as period 7 or a period 8 house? Kindly advise if possible. Thank you very much for your kind advise.; Greatly appreciated. With Best Regards, David Tee

  25. 1. Please see attachment; 2. For this layout; the best or preferred location of the Altar is at marking "A". 3. If the Altar is at location "B"; then the bed-head in Bedroom 3 must not share the same wall as the Altar. 3.1Furthermore, under location "B"; if joss stickers are lighted up daily; then the joss-smoke would often flow into all three bedrooms. Not ideal if some family members are often at home. As inhaling such smoke in the long term may not be health. 3.2 In some other units; the altar may be located at marking "D". But since every six months; the rays of the afternoon sun may shine towards location "D". Thus considered "disrespectful" to have t…
