Dear Cecil, There are is a fence on the back of our apartment seperating it from the next building.. The design of the fence is such that there are arrow shaped iron bars pointing to the back of the apartment The back is the West which is also the sitting direction of the apartment. What can be done to protect oneself 1. Keep the windows closed and curtained -- what u dont see does not harm u 2.Put convex mirrors to deflect the image of the bars 3. Any other remedy that you can suggest Thanks Anil _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Get your free @yahoo.com address at http://mail.yahoo.com

  2. Started by wasis,

Dear Wasis, In my opinion, phone numbers are considered secondary and not of primary importance. In addition, there are many definitions of how auspicious or inauspicious a phone number can be. Since more phone numbers have not less than 6 or 7 digits, it would be most likely that there will be many combinations of numbers in our phone number. And some of these numbers may happen to be good or bad. Thus numerology calculations or formulas may defer greatly between many people... For me, I would just brush this aside... and keep my phone number since, many people are already aware of it. Another thing is that if one were to strongly belief on the formula provided; one ma…

Dear Diana, Under the Eight House Theory, it is good to learn that the house is considered suitable for your husband. Especially if he is the breadwinner. One should not be too concerned if the main door is not as auspicious for the rest of the family members. Please note that, under the Eight House Theory, one should try to spend more time at a good sector (in the home). There should not be much concern if one does not spent too much time at a specific sector. Consideration should be given to which rooms each family member stays in. Please see below:- This is OK especially if your husband is the breadwinner. It does not matter even if it is an auspicious sector.…

Dear Siew Foong, 1. One option is to plant trees within the estate. When the trees mature (and depending) on the type of tree, some trees when they mature; can grow to the height of the 5th storey / floor or higher. 2. Other `artificial' means would be to close the window. These are the two points, I can thing of for now... Warmest Regards, Cecil

  5. Started by myfs_67943,

Dear Siew Foong, The following need to be considered:- 1. Does the Qi flow from the front e.g. window or main door and exits directly at the back? If so, it would be good to place a partition or screen to manipulate the Qi flow to allow it to meander slowly in the house. The above is one of the considerations for doing `interior' decoration in the home. 2. Under Flying Star Feng Shui The following items are looked at:- 2.1 What type of material is one using for the bar counter? Or materials e.g. glass/wine etc... Here, Flyings Star analysis is usually done to check on any imbalances at a sector. For example, if the sector in question is one where we should avoid adding `w…

Dear Siew Foong, Please see below:- The bed can be in the middle of the room. But usually, it is best to place the `head' of the bed against a wall. For the bed not to be against the wall:- Once I visited a client and he mentioned that Master Yap Cheng Hai, had visited his home and suggested placing the bed in the `middle' of the room. I understand was because it was to orientate away from an inauspicious (Eight House Theory sector). The most important consideration is that it (the bed or study table) should preferably be next to i.e. on the opposite wall especially the toilet bowl. This is still acceptable. This depends on the layout plan. As I do not have t…

  7. Started by machupeechu,

Dear Zarminae, Under the url below:- http://www.geomancy.net/polls/ You will find an interesting survey: " Are you comfortable sleeping facing a TV set (mirror)? A short simple 3 questions survey. " In the survey, it is interesting to find that many people feel that mirrors facing the bed may not be an issue. The test here is that if you feel comfortable despite the position of the mirror in your bedroom this is acceptable. But if you feel uncomfortable especially after waking up the next morning, then... it is best to re-site the mirror. Therefore, this would have to depend on a case-by-case basis. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  8. Dear Marianne, The fixed Ba Gua template was invented in the mind of one person. Please read the article on him:- http://www.qi-whiz.com/confess.html In traditional Feng Shui, it is advisable not to use fixed templates. There are two Compass School methods: Eight House and Flying Star. An illustration on the use of the Eight House theory is available under: htt://www.geomancy.net/fs/house1.htm Overall, I see that you are trying to apply the `fixed template' which is not practised in the East e.g. China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Far East countries like Malaysia and Singapore. In my opinion, the `method' you had mentioned should not be used. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Eileen, A warm welcome to the forum! The key issue for a home at the end of a cul de sac is: protect, protect & protect! If you can draw a simple (to scale sketch) of your location plan and surrounding i.e. nearby houses and the back of the home. It would be good as I can have a better picture of your home as it is difficult to give advise based on the description. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Jose, In my opinion, some FS practitioners may immediately comment... " nonsense " or " rubbish " on the placment of Ba Gua mirrors. Usually, these are western FS practitioners. In the east, such as Hong Kong, Taiwan and the Far East i.e. Singapore, Malaysia, many FS practitioners do ask their clients to use Ba Gua mirrors. In many of the past messages, the usage is for : 1. To ward off evil. Here, many of the FS practitioners may have a religion e.g. Toaism or Buddhist and these group of FS practitioners are the most likely ones who not only ask their customers to place Ba Gua mirrors but also `charms' with them to ward off evil. In fact, there are many who simply …

Dear Sumatra, 1. To side-track, for those who are interested in some pictures or short write ups on `The Sterling' which is a condominium in a triangle plot, feel free search for the above topic under the conference: Photo Tours of Interest with Pictures. Use the " SEARCH " feature under this Forum to search for " Sterling ". This is one exceptional traingle plot that has some units that have excellent Feng Shui. 2. For a triangle plot of land, if it is pointy at the backyard, usually, a lamp is placed at the pointy area to difuse the triangle. 3. Landscaping. For example, semi-circular or landscaped area where one can grow different types of plants within the landscaped …

Dear SL, Further to what I wrote earlier, looking at `Qi' at the main entrance area and whether to place the reception counter at the centre; right or left wall is an interesting subject. In my opinion, a good Shapes and Form FS expert, would need to visit the site and through feel, could provide the appropriate advice on the above. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear SL, One of the best illustrative books (with lots of pictures and well written book is by Derek Walters. Although his work is not like those by recent authors, one can flavour lots of `five element concepts' from this book if one reads careful. The ENGLISH book I mentioned is: Title: FENG SHUI Description: Perfect Placing for your happiness and prosperity by Derek Walters. Publisher: ASIAPAC Books ISBN 9971-985-21-7 In this book he has devised an English version of the Luopan where one use it to do FS audit. I highly recommend the other Book " Feng Shui Handbook " which has the essence of Five Elements. Unlike other authores he does not suggest out of the whim sugges…

  14. Started by mahalkita,

Dear SL, No, it depends. This is the rationale, why, I suggested for a `proportinate' sketch or layout plan. Without a proper sketch, it is not easy to comment whether to superimpose a 9 grid or to assess it as an `L' shaped home. For an `L' shaped home even if we separate it into two rectangles; it may be quite trickly for some to find out what is the direction of the main entrance and whether to use to directions (different) grids for each rectangle or superimpose identical grids to both triangles. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  15. You need to stand in the house and face the door that gives you your door direction. You can balance your whole house by the main door. In addition you can balance each individual room by the direction of each room's door. Then again stand in that room and face the door for its direction.

You are about to get on a bus for a trip. Which of the following seats will you choose to sit on? 1)A front seat on the driver's side 2)A back seat on the driver's side 3)A front seat on the entrance side 4)A back seat on the entrance side Here's your analysis.................. A front seat on the driver's side You are keen to know other's matters. Besides, you choose the front seat, it means you are energetic and always lead the team. You will always tell your team where to go and you will be dissatisfied if you do not get to lead the team. That's why others leave this job to you. A back seat on the driver's side You can take care of all members in the group very well. Y…

Dear SL, 1. In my opinion, and from what you had related, it would normally not the norm to take the direction of the gate to the building to determine the compass direction i.e. one of the 15degree increments needed in the Flying Star analysis. 2. Sometimes taking the reading of the `gate' may perhaps indicated that the person (FS master) may be looking at the `frontage' (which is not necessarily the front door) or if the practitioner has difficulty in locating the front main entrance. 3. It is my believe that, in most instances, FS practitioners would normally determine the compass direction of your front main entrance and then plot the Flying Star. As you mentioned, th…

Dear Miss Quiss, This year, it is advisable not to renovate at South South East or 150 degrees (Tai Su) and the location in conflict i.e. East ... If you are doing renovation at the area, it is best to avoid, being around when the work is carried out at the East. The above is just consideration. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Linda, Under the Eight House theory: 1. For the breadwinner look out for the main entrance (sector) and the bedroom where the breadwinner / spouse sleeps in. 2. For other family members especially your daughter, look out for the intangible force affecting her in the bedroom. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Amanda, In my opinion, it is difficult to associate a vehicle problems with self - Feng Shui. However, under the Five elements concept, we could chose a colour of a car that harmonises with our element. For example, a person with `weak wood' can be advised to purchase a car that is blue or green. (First choice: Blue/grey or black). As FS and Pillars are holistic methods, one may have to look at one's element and strength, the house Feng Shui (where we try to avoid or neutralise `bad luck' such as sectors of the house with `misfortune' #5 stars (if we are basing to FS/ Pillars). Otherwise, it could be real mechanical problems with your car etc... Warmest Regards, Ceci…

Dear Debbie, In my opinion, the concern here is more of `commonsense' approach. Many of the advise in Feng Shui dwells with `commonsense'. For example, the advise is that it is not good to have a bedroom above a kitchen. Although, fire can happen anywhere in the home, there is some possibility that a fire could break out of a kitchen. As fire, smoke and heat rises; someone living just above the kitchen could be at risk. In your case, it has more to do with `privacy' and security than "inauspicious" Feng Shui. In my opinion, so long as you can add e.g. an opaque film or secure the windows, this would be acceptable since there is no where else to place your head. This is u…

Dear Thao, Please see below:- You can make use of the Eight House report under the following URL:- Manual method of obtaining your Eight House Chart (with step-by-step) information on how to do so:- http://www.geomancy.net/fs/house1.htm Free computerised Eight House report is available under:- http://www.geomancy-online.com In my opinion, using sector Feng Shui is not effective to enhance your career. For example, some FS practitioners would advise that North = career sector and have advised their clients to enhance this sector. This method is too general to be of any good to everyone as it is not personalised. In Traditional Feng Shui, what is most important is …
