Dear John, 1. Thanks for sharing with us the information. I have short write-up which I written quite sometime back on this. The URL is at: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/pakua.htm Please see below (my comments):- In my opinion, it is best not to `verify' what was written at another site but rather; I feel that it would be better to bring out two differing camps - the `issues' relating to this subject. And that, in my opinion there are no right or wrong answers. Ultimately, each of us, should form our own opinion. Yes, there are two opposing views: 1. One view is that it can be used to either ward off evil or used against `Sha Qi' or poison arrows. Within this camp, some…

Dear Vijay, In my opinion, there are many other factors that can influence the sale of your house. Overall, the main factors are: 1. Location, location, location. 2. Selling price & market conditions. 3. Luck factor - however, there are said to be many forms of luck. Chinese divinity uses Pillars of Destiny (map out Heaven's luck) and try to increase this. 4. For Feng Shui, if there are salient or good points of the house under Feng Shui; one may try to `sell' this as value added - provided the buyer can be convinced about Feng Shui and good points about it. Sometimes, if the house is not so good, this can however backfire. 5. For a new good house, you can try out th…

Dear Nina, 1. In my opinion, using `fixed' Ba Gua template is not proper FS concepts. 2. However, I have taken the opportunity to marked out the `centre-point' of your house. If you are using Compass School Feng Shui methods such as: Eight House of Flying Star, you can take a compass reading (refer to house1a.bmp) and `aim' the compass towards the main entrance. The compass reading will determine the direction of your main entrance door. 3. For the second part of the `L' shaped layout, you can super-impose the map to this other half. Warmest Regards, Cecil P.S. Please download attached file.

Dear Sarah, Thanks for bring up an interesting point. Yes, usually the question that it (slanted roof) is considered `inauspicious' has been brought up. But not how much `damage' it may cause. In my opinion, an overhead beam would be more inauspicious then say a slanted roof. I have audited several homes with slanted roof ranging from it in the bedroom area to the study room. Some of the rooms have the slanted roof away from the bed or study. While some rooms have it away from the study (chair area where one sits). Based on my personal experience; I feel that: 1. it depends on whether how long one spents at the sector (with the slopping ceiling). 2. if for example, the be…

Dear Wasis, You can make use of the Singapore virtual street directory map at this URL: http://streetdirectory.com NOTE: The `cut and paste' of the URL below MAY not work. You should go to the site first and use the SEARCH feature to type in either the street e.g. Waterloo Street (Location A) and Smith Street (Location B) and zoom in or out of the map from there:- I did a search for Location A as:- (Waterloo Street area) http://streetdirectory.com/map.cgi?sizex=400&sizey=400&ismap=1&x=30186.1752& y=31479.5516&level=7?294,292 And Location B:- (Peoples Park) http://streetdirectory.com/map.cgi?sizex=400&sizey=400&ismap=1&x=29176&y=294 33…

My bedroom is located in the NE corner of my apartment. I recently moved in with my fiance and things are not going to well, we are quarreling a lot and it is not normal. Does this have anything to do with the bedroom being in that corner. I read that this is the Death location for me and also for him. Please advise me what to do. Thank you. Maria E.

Dear Jeanette, 1. It is good to understand that, as a guide, a missing corner should be one where there is a 33.3 percent missing `area' in a specific sector. Here, the home is sub-divided in 9 equal divisions or a 3 x 3 grid. 2. It is good to examine, whether it is really a missing corner or a protrusion. As different `treatment'/intrepretation is used. 3. If there is a missing corner in the home and the house is a: 3.1 Landed property If it is a landed property, an outline of the `missing area' or boundary can be created outside the house. A top-view will then show that the missing area has been outlined by a boundary. The boundary can be shrubs, fencing or layout on …

Dear Sonia, I took quite sometime to reply to your mail because, with the limited information, that you have provided below; it is difficult to `pin-point' your problems. An `L' shaped house need not be all too bad. In fact, if one is using Feng Shui, there are many types of analysis. What you have mentioned is focused only on a specific sector and in the interior of the house. Please see below:- If you have a bathroom door between your bed, one can place a side table and a table lamp on top of it. Under Feng Shui, it symbolises a `partition' between the two. If you feel uncomfortable with the two mirrors facing each other, a `cheap' alterative is to place a opague fi…

It is not easy to fool a Rooster and they make good trouble shooters. They are conscious of their appearance and what they wear. What's good? Funny, witty, brave, enthusiastic, efficient and honest. A Rooster person is very intelligent, a good thinker and has an excellent memory, alert and organised. They are intelligent, entertaining and strong willed but generous to friends. 14. Dear Alice, A windchime can be used without an attached crystal. A windchime can be used especially if it is used against a bad earth element i.e. #5 or bad earth / bad yellow. A windchime (especially if it metallic) can help to reduce the impact of the #5. If the porch falls under the influence of #5, then it can be used there. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, 1. In general, it is best to determine which location is the kitchen in? 1.1 If the kitchen is located at the South (compass direction); then overall, a stove/cooker is able to face a water position. The consideration here is that South = Fire element and a stove/cooker can face a water position (to cool down the `south' / fire sector). 1.2 But if the kitchen is at the North (compass direction): then it is advisable as the Feng Shui book suggest; not to let the stove/cooker face the water position. Here, since North = water (the fire of the stove/cooker can easily be `extinguished'. For other sectors, in my opinion, if there is not much choice, Para 1.1 can st…

  16. Dear Alice, I must sincerely apologise as I am unable to provide advice based on *Black Hat Sect* type of questions relating to "illumination bagua" or "wind bagua". If you have a sketch of the specific room, I can take alook based on Shapes and Form theory to see if it is optimized for the above. Otherwise, I am really not much use in " Black Hat Sect aka... type of modern ideas. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  17. Dear Arthur, 1. In order to know which cure to use it is very important to determine whether a person is a weak or strong earth. 2. Geomancy.Net's calculation takes into account 4 main pillars (day, month, year and hour) plus House of Life and House of conception to determine your final element. 3. Here, based on how your elements combinations and clashes the proportion and changes in strength for the elements will affect whether you are a weak or strong earth person. 4. If you have used the Pillars of Destiny v8 and above to determine that you are a strong earth, then you are strong earth, as it takes into account many factors before coming to that conclusion. 5. For…

Dear Phyu Phyu, Based on your description, it looks like if your house is much higher than the back, usually it is not affected by the dead end. In addition if you have bushes inbetween the house and the dead end. With `proper care' of the slope to avoid soil erosion is ideal. In my opinion, you need not do anything at this stage. However, if there are sufficient lighting (external) this would be great. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Sandy, I am not sure if you have any contraints i.e. rented room where you may not have sufficient storage area. In my opinion, it is always best to see if you can explore any possibility of stacking the boxes e.g. in a cupboard or ar a corner rather than placing it below your bed. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  21. Dear Rosie, Perhaps you can generate a Free Flying Star report. Most probably, there is an influence of sickness star #2 or even #5 within the sector of your son's bedroom. A metal cure depending on the level of imbalance at the sector could be used if the above analysis is correct. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Evelyn, With the little information provided, it is difficult for me to give you proper advise. Usually, if one practises or applies sector Feng Shui; may have to use personal feelings i.e. not because; of `Feng Shui' related reasons but simply because one `fell in love' with an object of decoration e.g. metal windchime and wants to place it. Here, one may have to use personal feelings to see where it can be placed in the home. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  23. Dear Michelle, In my opinion, it is always (first choice) to place the bed based on good Shapes and Form Feng Shui. 1. Whenever one can, the bed should be on the opposite wall of the bedroom door. 2. If possible, it should lean against a wall. 3. If there are windows on the side of the bed; one should preferably leave a gap (or walking area) between the bed and the window. I am not too clear, about the position of the closet door you mentioned below. But you can `treat' it as a wardrope. Where there should be a gap (walking / movement) area between this location. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Barbara, I believe many of us are in the same situation as yours "exactly opposites". What is more important is to: 1. Understand the purpose / objective of each concept and what is can or cannot do. For example, under the Eight House Theory:- 1.1. It can be used in general to find out how suitable a house is to the "breadwinner." 1.2. Other than this, there is not much one can do; if e.g. North = death or health. If the bed is located here; perhaps, you can sleep closer to the North while your husband sleeps further away from the North direction. (He can be `shielded' by you). 2. The depth of application of Traditional Feng Shui depends on your level of participat…

Dear Anon, Please accept my condolences. I believe many of us share your grief and understand what you are going thru. Life has to basically go on in his memory. Hope that you can continue to enrich your life and make him proud. Life is also a yo-yo and there are ups and downs. Certain aspects of Feng Shui can help to reduce deaths due to `accidents/disasters' but if it due to the process of old age, all of us are not immune to it. I am really short for words at this moment but..Do take care of your health! Warmest Regards, Cecil
