Dear Anon, 1. This has more to do with beliefs than Feng Shui. 2. It would be a nice feeling for CEOs if they can symbolically be at one of the highest floors of a building especially if their company owns the entire building. 3. In some countries, well known politicians also have their offices close to the top floor. Some even have an escape hatch to a helicopter pad in the event of a terrorist attack. 4. Usually, nowadays the highest floors need not be an office but rather it could also be a restaurant or an auditorium. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Brandi, In my opinion, I personally feel that it is advisable not to have a water position on the sector mentioned. So long as there is clear space at the frontage (with or without water position) is acceptable. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Sir, Could you pls advise? I live in England and am looking for a house. On this road, most of the houses have this common feature: The main door is located at the side, and it faces the neighbour's door. Pls find the images. Is it alright to buy such a house, or should I stop looking at such properties? Thank you for your kindness.

1. Frankly, your question is too general. 2. If you are really interested in a home, it is always a good investment to consider Feng Shui service like "Can or cannot buy" especially if one has superficial knowledge of Feng Shui. 3. For example; the pros and cons include:- 3.1. How suitable is the house to the breadwinner(s) 3.2. What is the Flying Star facing direction? 3.3. What is the external Shapes and Forms Feng Shui of the home or apartment like. 4. What you have mentioned is only a tiny "prick" of shapes and forms of the centrepoint + toilet + kitchen 5. In addition to 3.1 to 3.3. many other considerations include where is the stove situated; is the stove fac…

Dear Cindy, In this sample report, (see attachment ) In general, a geomancer will select a name based on the breakdown of one's ba zi element:- Your Five Element Breakdown 1 Weak Water 4 Strongest Wood 2 Strong Fire 1 Extremely Weak Earth 0 Weakest Metal 9% 62% 25% 3% 0% This tells me that you are a Weak Water because of too little Water (9%) and Metal (0%). Your element is born in a season which is makes Water Element Weak. Thus, influencing the element strength of the other five element elements. The percentage of each element is considered after considering the seasonal strength and the number of that element presen…

In addition to what you have mentioned, another major key issue is to look out for water coming in or flowing outwards of the property. EXAMPLE 1:- ========== For example, please take a look at this attachment illustration: water-entry-exitpoint-A.gif In this illustration, assuming the property is facing "SOUTH" compass direction and in addition, there is a drain with water flowing directly towards south into the property:- Please take alook at the first heaven trigram (top most trigram). Here, South represents the"Heaven trigram". And assuming that when we investigate this property, water flows out of the land at NW . Which is also the "Heaven trigram" - Of the…

Dear XiuMei, 1. Is it possible to upload a sketch of the bedroom and its attached toilet and the proposed wall that you want to knock down. This would help me to understand the layout out better. 2. Usually, it is still acceptable to have an `L' shaped bedroom. Of course, ideally, the room should try to be of rectangular or squarish shape. 3. An `L' shaped room can easily be `cured' by having a partition or a divider (if space provides or that it does not hinder the placement of the King/queen sized bed. 4. An `L' shaped room is in my opinion, acceptable. Sometimes, even if the bedroom is odd shaped, if one makes the effort to e.g. use built in cabinets to `cure' the room…

Dear Anon, 1. It is good to hear that all the tables are already setup. This is the key issue. Since, it would not be good if you actually see your partition torn down and see your table move over to the new location. 2. As your new table is ready, wait for your colleague to move-out. For your move. If you do not have much items, simply place it into boxes such as the paper copier empty boxes. And bring all of them at one go to the new work-top. This is relatively no issue as compared to Para 1. 3. This portion is not Feng Shui but more of a belief:- When you do begin to move; just stroke your back a few times and mumble to yourself ie. "to your child" that we are moving …

Dear Jocelyn, Thank you for bring up this question. Presently there are many users in this forum and it is good to mention this subject. One way is by asking questions: 1. What is truly traditional Feng Shui practises? 1. At the highest form is called Taiji. 2. The next level is --> the Yin and Yang principle 3. One level below is --> the Five Elements Concept The highest form called Tai Ji is merely a term which we can broadly say that it is the union of Yin and yang in balance. All Feng Shui principles, theories and concepts must embody Yin and Yang. At the lower level is the Five Elements Concept. It is said that everything is made up of the Five Elements i.e. it…

1. In order to understand your question, one must master or have a good understanding of the Five elements concept:- http://www.geomancy.net/talknotes/talknotes.htm 2. As a strong metal person: 2.1 Under the Productive sequence of the five elements concept: A metal person should look at: Water = where strong metal should be reduced by the water element. Thus a career "in" water is often considered "less stressful" if one cannot find a career associated with either wood element or fire element. 2.2 Under the Destructive sequence of the five elements concept:- 2.2.1 Fire destroys metal Here, a career "in the fire element" is associated with your "POWER and AUTHORI…

Dear Linh, Please take note that you should use the conVEX mirror. And not the conCAVE mirror. In this website, under "Photo Tour".. I had several years back included pictures and description of the various mirrors. Briefly, conVEX mirror(s):- 1. Simple convex mirror surrounded by a border e.g. a red plastic border. Usually comes in two sizes, the smallest is approximately 3 to 3.5 inches. 2. Some convex mirrors are found in the middle of a bagua mirror (which has the 8 hex trigrams embeded on it). This can also be used. Nowadays, itcomes usually in yellow background. but the mirror is a polished mirror. 3. Some have a flat mirror. And sometimes surrounded with a f…

In the past, I had posted some actual case examples of real life Feng Shui done for clients. These samples are still available in the forum. For example, please see attachment. It shows clearly how to integrate the Eight Mansions (rather than Aspirations) with the Flying Star Chart.

In my opinion, there are two contrary view points: 1. The most common from a Flying Star Feng Shui is: often one hears this saying "Such a waste that the current prosperity is located in the kitchen". 1.1. For example, for the current period 8; instead of having the current prosperity especially double auspicious wealth sectors at the frontage; the current prosperity is "wasted" in the kitchen area. What a waste! 1.2. Here, if the double #8's can also be at the living room area; or area of activity where one can enjoy the influence of good qi. 1.3. For some, the kitchen and yard area can be "messy" and if the double #8s are located there; make sure that the kitchen area …

These are some considerations: 1. No offence to the person posting this question. 2. My answer is: Only Singaporeans can think of such questions. 3. Perhaps, this is why we have our singlish: Kiasu and Kiasee. 4. Singaporeans, please read between the lines.. and I hope you are not that Kiasee, OK? P.S. a. The only other character that is close to Singaporean's K-su and K-see attitude is Rowan A. as Mr Bean in many of his delightful comedies... b. One fine day when I do retire from Geomancy; I will certainly add this question into one of my websites... be it http://kiasu.net Seems very appropriate.. content.. Cheers!

Dear Max, It is very common to have a reception facing the main entrance door: 1. Especially if it is at least 1.5 to 2 metres away from the entrance door. 2. Usually, reception counter is full table height when seen from the main entrance. 3. Under Feng Shui, an analysis may be done to check the auspiciousness of the main door entrance. In instances where the main door area is auspicious, by having the reception counter at the centre, may inadvertently, divide the `LUCK' into TWO. This is because, the Qi that is meant to come into the main entrance door would be split into two or halved in instances where the reception is at the centrepoint. This needs further FS inves…

1. Please refer to my most recent comments under this topic: Identify Period Of House Posted in: Earth Luck :: Flying Star (Xuan Kong) House Posted on: Sun, 02 Nov 2008, 21:46 PM, 2. The above message highlights two major Arguments and my comment is that if necessary, one may need to consider drawing several Flying Star charts for such a home. Frankly, this is the most sensible approach which is adopted by many competent practitioners.

Can understand, in the past, in a communist country; one has to either ask permission to move or get shot for escaping the Berlin wall! Feng Shui or Ba zi is never about such restrictions or taboo of such sorts.

Dear Jaishree, There are a few considerations to note: 1. One theory you can apply is the Eight House Theory. Here, check what intangible force is located in the West room with respects to your children who will be occupying the room. 2. Under the Eight House, Where possible it is good for them to spent time at an of the 4 auspicious sector e.g. Health, Longevity etc.. 3. Priority should be given to Para 2. Another point is that they can sit facing one of their good directions. 4. Before considering Para 3, it is best to position the study table against a wall for `support'. Check out the resources on www.geomancy.net for the Shapes and Form School techniques and read up …

Dear Elena, 1. It is not necessary to turn on the lamp 24 hours a day. This is most uneconomical. 2. The best alternative is to use red or purple to represent the fire element. 3. I do not recall, using the red thread on its own. A red thread is used to control the cure of using 6 coins. Where the red thread is used to control the big metal. (Not let it out of control). 4. Quite effective is to use objects that are red. For example a table lamp with a red shade. (Purple is acceptable but red is the best). "Imaginative" but effective cures include disply Coca Cola cans etc.. The size should effective be the size of at least 4 coca cola cans or a reasonable sized (regular)…

Dear Ang Chye, Upon reviewing your message, I would like to inquire about your reasons for wanting to hang a Wind Chime. Is it solely due to the presence of star 5 in the year 2000? Or is it because the imbalance of Star 5 in that particular sector necessitates the use of a Wind Chime as a remedy? Personally, there are more effective cures available than using a Wind Chime, which can often come with complications such as varying element types of rods, different rod numbers, and hollow or solid rods. Additionally, incorrect placement of a Wind Chime may lead to more issues rather than resolving the existing problem. It is advisable to only apply a cure if you are certain…
