Dear Cecil: About the color. My house tone is also Peach. In my bedroom, my whole beddings are light yellow with flower prints on it. Should I purchase the 6 I-ching coins to hang in my bedroom. If so, which location should I hang the coins in my bedroom to neutral the colour? Thank you so much in advance.:) brenda

Dear Karen, 1. There are many different issues in Feng Shui and Ba Zhi (Pillars of Destiny) and Yin and Yang concepts with regards to determining/recommendation as to the colour in a room. 2. This message would not be able to address all the above. And furthermore, `knowledge sector' is not practised here. 3. With regards to colours, `earth' colour or any other colours, you may have to take it in the context of Yin (darker) and Yang (brighter colours). Since your preference or comfort level is a darker room, it should do. Usually, earth colour is associated with Yellow. I am not sure what is the exact colour i.e. mauve.. if it dark, then, it could instead be `wood' colou…

Dear Diane, Usually, the preferred location is in the living room. If it is placed in the living room, preference is not to raise it too high. If you have a separate room that can hold the aquarium it is equally fine. It is best not to place the aquarium behind the house or in a room behind the house. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Madi, In my opinion, this is a Shapes and Form weakness. Equally important, is that the property should not be `entrapped' i.e. surrounded by taller buildings on all sides and particularly where they are at higher ground. It is a site feature and very little one can do here. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Allan, On an intuitive level, (without) detailed Pillars of Destiny or FS analysis; you can: 1. determine what is your present `LUCK' in the existing home. 2. If you have found a `better' home, or feel that you have found a better one then your existing home. In such a situation, you can try to move residence ASAP. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Johnny, Thanks for bring up this interesting question: 1. When we talk about wealth area, it is good to look at macro Feng Shui. 2. In macro Feng Shui, the traditional way is to look at a land where the dragon Qi can flow from within the land mass towards the sea. 3. For example, many Chinese cities were built where the dragon Qi flows towards the sea. 4. Such as a river, which can be considered a dragon where it flows from high above and merge with the sea. 6. This is truly considered the `wealth area' where populations, can grow and `create wealth'. 7. For Hong Kong, many buildings especially if they are at the mouth of the sea, have a clear opening to allow such a…

Dear Diane, 1. Black colour represents the water element. 2. It is acceptable for a weak water person to be assocated with Black (or blue or grey) the colours identified with Water element. 3. Usually wrought iron beds the exposed area (in my opinion) does not have that much of an impact on the environment of the room as most parts of it is not seen. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Donna, In my opinion, when building a new home, the front door is not the only consideration. Serious consideration should also go towards the entire house taking into consideration the external environment, the site and the land. For the main door, it is best or advantages if it is an excellent location for the breadwinner. For other members of the family (even if one owns the plot of land); try to look at locations where it can be excellent or good for them especially in the bedroom area. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Johnny, 1. If one uses a Ba Gua mirror, it should have a convex mirror at the centre (e.g. like those placed at car park blind spots. It should not be concave as this is meant to `absorb' rather than deflect. 2. For your mum's room, ideally, you could use curtains. For example, two layers of curtain i.e. day curtain and night curtain. In the day time, day curtain could be used to shield against this poison arrow. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Judy, Based on Feng Shui, one has to try and protect `entrances': 1. Entrances such as the main entrance door and windows. 2. In your situation, determine whether, the broken tree stump is now a `sha qi': 2.1 Stand at the main entrance or the window(s) especially if the tree stump is tangent or `cut's across or slice thru the main entrance or a window. 2.2 If, the above is true; then, it is best to try and take immediate action as soon as possible, such as `cutting' down the rest of the tree and remove the roots. 2.3 If the tree stump does not cut thru the window or main entrance, then, you can take your time to uproot or remove the tree especially if it no longer co…

sir, here are some more information 1. Are the drains coverable? It would not be ideal for the drain water to flow from west to east or remain stagnant. ans: partially, enough for 4 people to walk in together into the restaurant, the rest is open, along the road i.e just infront of the main door it is covered. 2. Currently what is the distance between the drain and the main entrance? ans: around 4-5 feet 3. Is the drain parallel to the front entrance? ans: yes it is 4. Are there now plants outside the main entrance. If so, how many plants and how large are they? Are they planted or in pots. ans: There are 4 big potted plants sorry for inconvenience thank you madi

Dear Janaki, From a Shapes and Form point of view under Feng Shui, yes, it is inauspicious to have a toilet door facing the main entrance. This is usually a fundamental flaw and difficult to correct. The only option to REDUCE the effect is to see if the toilet door can be `partitioned' away from the view of the main entrance. Try as we might, sometimes it is difficult to `cure' fundamental flaws in the house. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Roasline, Here are some guidelines to the placement of an ancestor's tablet:- 1. Avoid placing it immediately facing the front entrance (main door). Here, the implication is that it is disrespectful to let an ancestor become the guardian of the house. 2. Avoid placing it facing a toilet or on the same wall as the toilet. 3. If possible, avoid placing it in the kitchen. 4. Try to find some place in the living room area. Preferably facing outwards i.e. facing an open window (if you can). Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Chee Kiat, I totally agree with what you had said. 1. In East such as Taiwan, Hong Kong, China and Singapore, we have always learnt that Feng Shui does not depend on highly commercialised products that are produced to satisfy the `demand' and driven by unscrupulous people in the name of " Feng Shui ". 2. When I tried to do a search under the search engines for Feng Shui products; for our friend in Portual; I found several Feng Shui emporiums that have tied in with so called Feng Shui practitioners to help `push' their products. 3. Feng Shui is now so contaminated and commercialised by all these association with material goods which are highly marked up and only to f…

Dear Wasis, Would it be possible for you to upload a .gif or .jpg or .bmp file for a clearer understanding of your situation. Usually, you should leave out the main gate as this should not be considered the main entrance. For the main entrance, for many homes, there are usually two doors to the main entrance or distinctly, in many instances, the main entrance door can be seen from the frontage of the house. Or when we drive-in to the house, we could see the main entrance door. Alternatively, it should be the `largest' door in the home. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Wasis, 1. The term " Flying Star Feng Shui " and " Xuan Kong Feng Shui " is one and the same. 2. In fact, if one looks carefully at the naming convention in this forum, under the topic header "Flying Star (Xuan Kong Fei Xing)" one will come to understand that Flying Star is indeed Xuan Kong Fei Xing. 3. As money plants prefer some shade, in country which is near the equator, and subject to direct sunlight; it is very common to see money plants planted just below expressway flyovers i.e. the shaded ground. These money plants grow very well such that they look like a vast carpet `grass' covering these areas. As to whether one can plant a money plant in the soil; it can…

Dear Diane, In general, where it concerns the compass location at north east, it is best to avoid creating or enhancing the location to become too yin. This also depends on the size of your aquarium. Where water is considered a Yin element and too much of it may not be good for this sector. However, further FS audit may be needed such as: 1. What is the lighting level (especially natural light) that goes into this room/area? More natural light -- more yang and good. 2. How large is the aquarium. 3. If a Flying Star analysis has been done; how many #numbers relate to Yin at this sector? Where possible, the Flying star #numbers at this sector should have more Yang influence…

Dear Kerrie, Frankly, I do not know where to begin advising you on concepts such as "fame" area. These are non-traditional FS practises. Neutral colours such as white or pastel white colours are best if one is not sure what colour to paint a wall. Alternatively, instead of speculating on what to paint the wall at the "fame" area - you could perhaps, make a choice based on your personal feelings or consulting family members on the colour. Where possible, in such an instance, do not be `taken' in by suggestions on how to `brighten' up the fame area... These are not proper FS theories ... Warmest Regards, Cecil

  24. Dear Anon, 1. In my country, I do encounter several old houses such as bangalow houses i.e. over 100 years old that has been transformed into quad or duplex houses. 2. In one such house, it became `sunken' in relation to other developments around it i.e. new buildings next to it on higher raised ground. In this particular house (or quad-units) the house is considered `entrapped' and surrounded by taller more modern buidlings surrounding it. From my personal observations of the house, for the past 5 years: 1. The owner of one particular unit at the ground level (entrapped house) had difficulty trying to find a buyer for it. 2. Progress for the breadwinner was slow and whil…

Dear Ian, Can u elaborate further as to the two doors. Are they the main entrance or two doors within a main entrance area. Usually, one will not be too concerned with the effect of the two doors unless, one is trying to determine which door to apply as the main entrance when applying the Flying Star Theory of the compass school Feng Shui. Warmest Regards, Cecil
