Seek General Advice from Master Cecil Lee

Dear John, 1. The `coffin' position is one where when one enters a bedroom door, one could see a person's feet and the entire body and head. Therefore the full head, body and legs are therefore pointed towards the bedroom door. This is inauspicious. 2. In your case, based on what I can understand, (if due to space constraints or conditions of the layout); it is an acceptable position. The test is that if you `lift-up' your head, you should not see both feet through the bedroom door. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Berth, Currently, it is difficult to imagine the loft you mentioned. Therefore, I can only provide feedback on certain aspects. 1. A straight staircase to the loft is not as desirable as one with a landing and turns. 2. The higher the vaulted ceiling, the better, but a 20 feet height is ideal. 3. Painting the ceiling like a sky, especially in blue, may result in problems, especially for the breadwinner. 4. If you are concerned about marriage, consider doing a Flying Star chart, especially if the inauspicious sector is in your bedroom. 5. Having a window in the house is good, and it's acceptable to place a curtain. Congratulations on…

Dear Anon, If one has a recurrent medical problem, it would be advisable to do a Flying Star analysis, to find out further if one is really sleeping under a sickness or misfortune sector. If there is a sickness sector, usually the appropriate cure, should reduce the problem or eliminate it. This is because, the Eight House, cannot tell you about it even it happens to be one of your good sectors under this theory. As for a magnetic pad, it would depend on the nature of the magnetic properties (intensity) and the claims made by the producer of it. If the `claim' is that it can cure arthritis but after sometime, you still have this problem, or instead, giving other problems…

Dear Ber It is ok to sleep on the floor mattress for both the mum and child. There is no evidence to provide otherwise. When sleeping on the floor, it is preferred to sleep on `wood' e.g. paquet flooring. It is not based on FS but wood or wood panels will ensure that when one wakes up or stepping on the floor, the slab of tile is not `cold'. As I mentioned in an earlier message, many Japanese are sleeping on the floor especially on wooden plank floors. Warmest Regards, Cecil Dear cecil, My baby and I are sleeping on a mattress on the floor. Will this affect our health or luck? Can I still do so?? Thanks

  5. 1. Please note that the Eight House concept is very rigid i.e. Either you spent time at such and such a location or you don't. Or you try to avoid. It is like ebony and ivory - black and white - hot and cold. 2. This concept offers no cures for the above. 3. Basically, some clever people or those who have the money, actively search out good homes where the bedroom sectors all "fall into" place. For example, when constructing a new home, a wealth person, would engage a geomancer to make things right - the first time. 4. Thus many of us who does not have the luxury of having such expert advice can only apply Eight House Feng Shui based on "Nice-to" have situations. 5. …

My bedroom (attched with bathroom)in a rented condo is rather weird, had slightly protruding beam surrounding the room. It's rectangle shape, the main door at the side, and facing two big windows (two panels each), and the shorter side of the room had one bathroom door at the center. So, the bed position is either head facing towards one of the windows or the bathroom door. Ever since moving in, things are not plain sailing. Anyway planned to shift again. As for now, I am concerned of the right sleeping position. Kindly advise. Thank you.

  7. Started by myfs_102995,

What then is the best option if: My best position is head pointing north. This means my bed must be placed at 45 degrees to the wall.If I align it against either wall that forms the corner,my head will be pointing in my worst directions,ie,NE or NW.Other bed positions are not suitable because it faces a mirror or the door. If I sleep alone in a queen size bed, should I sleep diagonally with my head pointing north?Which is more important - the position of the bed in thedesired corner of the bedroom or the head pointing direction?

Dear Danny, Have u taken into consideration both partners (husband and wife) if you have two parties in the masterbedroom. Without any major renovation, it is best to look at the bedroom - with first priority on the Shapes and Forms Feng Shui. As the owner of the home, it is still best to occupy the master bedroom instead of using the study as the master bedroom - (first priority, here). Under the Eight House Theory, there is not much one can do, since it is a fixed idea or concept. Actually, the "bad influence" or rather it can belooked at by applying Flying Star Feng Shui. Warmest Regards, Cecil

    1. Yes, there is a limitation with the Eight House / Eight Mansion concept. For example, if one cannot sleep facing one's best sector or direction, there is nothing much one can do UNDER this concept. 2. Thus based on this concept:- http://www.geomancy.net/wiki/The_Three-Step-Approach You are being realistic to say "am I stuck with this..." 3. In a holistic approach to Feng Shui, you may have to find other ways of "maximizing luck":- http://www.geomancy.net/wiki/The_Concept_of_Maximizing_Marks

    1. Priority is based on Shapes and forms Feng Shui. Where the bedroom arrangement should "flow" with the bedroom door, attached toilet - if any and the location of the window in the bedroom. 2. Sleeping with the head facing a good direction is considered as Nice-to-have and not a must-have. 3. Another concept to remember is "If it ain't broken, don't fix it". If the previous bed-head arrangement was fine or acceptable, don't change things unnecessarily. Or revert to the "original-previous" position. 1. In most instances; where space permits; such "stagnant qi" areas are often "reserved" for a wardrope cupboard - as an example. 2. However, if one say; were to turn on a fan or an air-con; then even if one sleeps just anywhere in a bedroom; there is no issue as a fan would often circulate air towards that "stagnant" area. 3. I am not proposing that one turns on an air-con all the time - as this is not green and for some; may not quite stomach the hight utility bills. 4. Actually, contrary to popular belief; with regards to the ceiling fan:- 4.1. In Singapore; many who stay in a landed property are "smart" enough to install them; and often take advantage of their home's …

Dear Tony, Usually, in most instances, each home or sector can be influenced by `seasonal' Feng Shui. Here, most probably, the wrong set of `stars' either congregate at your bedroom or a combination of some bad stars are around. Most likely this is the case. And depending on the combination of stars, it may be the monthly or yearly star combinations. Or alternatively, it has been a known fact that watercoures or even water close-by could emit minute traces of e.g. positive ions. Which is not beneficial to the body. We call this `invisible' vapours. While negative ions are beneficial, positive ions, similar to this situation in the long term may not be ideal:- Reference: …

Dear Anon, Under the Eight House Theory, it is very common to find partners or spouse with opposite gua numbers. If let's say the bedroom is located in the North-West of the house. Since North-West location is your best sleeping position, in your case, try to sleep closer to this intangible line. While for your wife, she sleeps further or next to you (further away) from this intangible line. Here, you are like acting as a shield for your wife. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Judy, 1. The clue here is to look at the human make-up: "We have our head and feet." 2. One simple example is, when most of us sleep we sleep in a `near' horizontal position. Here, all humans have a head. And our actual head should face the best direction. 3. Our feet should point to the opposite direction. 4. Ambulance Evacuation and the taboo: To give another example: Even for Chinese; who are very sick; recently, I encountered an experienced ambulance attendant who has advised family members of the sick that whenever; an emergency evacuation is made; "head, first". 5. When lying down, often, we want our head to be the `first' to be closer to the auspicioius direct…

Dear Kathy, 1. Frankly, it is better to place your bed in a good Shapes and Forms position. 2. Some examples of favourable/unfavourable bed positions can be seen under this url:- http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-bedroom.htm 3. Many of us, do have `opposites'. And it is best that the person who has more auspicious influence sleep closer to that intangible force. While, the partner sleeps further away. Warmest Regards, Cecil

i am new to this site so i hope this is right...i have applied the 8 mansion method to my house. our sleeping positions are all wrong but the house isn't set up for us to really change that. my husband's kua # is 5, mine is 9 and my son's is 4. if you know this method we are all over the place. the master bedroom is in the the ne and east sector and my son is in east and center sectors. i am supposedly sleeping in my death bed. i would like to change this for obvious reasons. is there advice that can help me with ideas as to how to get rid of the elements in the rooms without putting boards over windows. them i could try to reposition everyone. thanks so much, kathy

Dear All, 1. One interesting thing to note about Feng Shui is as mentioned below, in the past, Feng Shui was done more to access the potential of a new city. 2. Here, if the city is situated in a good location, in general, it would mean that this would be good for the community. 3. Thus if we look at it, this means that overall, we as individuals may not need to do a Feng Shui audit for ourselves. 4. But of course, many of us, would like to have a `COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE' or one up, or an edge. 5. The above would mean that most of us, do not need to do a FS audit and can still prospher. 6. Thus there are some people, who have taken up on `Feng Shui' and have faired worse b…

Dear Sor Lan, There are three alternatives to your situation:- A. The use of bamboo flutes hung in such a method:- http://www.geomancy.net/mypictures/cgi-bin/mypictures.cgi?img=0&search=flute&cat=all&bool=and&x=6&y=16 B. Please see attached two photos:- One photo shows a support strut. While another shows two bamboo flutes `holding' up the beam. For the support strut, it can be a simple arch construction.
