General Help

Seek General Advice from Master Cecil Lee

  1. Dear Max, It is very common to have a reception facing the main entrance door: 1. Especially if it is at least 1.5 to 2 metres away from the entrance door. 2. Usually, reception counter is full table height when seen from the main entrance. 3. Under Feng Shui, an analysis may be done to check the auspiciousness of the main door entrance. In instances where the main door area is auspicious, by having the reception counter at the centre, may inadvertently, divide the `LUCK' into TWO. This is because, the Qi that is meant to come into the main entrance door would be split into two or halved in instances where the reception is at the centrepoint. This needs further FS inves…

Dear Max, For a person who is `strong fire'; it is best to be associated with a business related to Metal. (wealth element). You can generate the Career report which will further give a breakdown of: 1. Career associated with wealth 2. Career associated with power. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Merian, Is it possible for you to place a small cabinet or cupboard such as a short linen cabinet of say 4 to 6 drawers at the foot of the bed? Alternatively, if you have a partition, this would also do. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Max, 1. Yes, in a general `reading' taking into consideration one's YEAR of birth i.e. for those born between 18 Feb 1958 to 7 Feb 1959, the YEAR element is an Earth Dog. 2. Pillars of Destiny based on YEAR, MONTH, DAY and TIME of birth. In the " Four Pillars" analysis, not only is the YEAR element i.e. EARTH-DOG is looked into but also the MONTH, DAY and TIME of birth. Under Pillars of Destiny, the main important element is the MONTH of birth and the other variables i.e. YEAR, DAY and TIME are looked at in total. Thus one can be a " EARTH - DOG " based on the YEAR of birth but, this is too general and has to be looked into in greater detail based on Pillars of Dest…

Dear Glenn, In this website, the direction of the main entrance door is determined from the centrepoint of the house. Therefore, NE 68 degrees is used here as the main entrance door when applying the tools here. Taking the direction of the main entrance door from the centrepoint is the standard method used throughout Flying Star School especially if the ordinary compass is used. If one uses the Loupan to analyse a direction, another method is used. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Fred, 1. It would be better if a partition (if possible) be placed between the front door and the staircase instead of a crystal. Usually, a crystal would not (in my opinion work). 2. To slow down the qi, plants could be placed at the steps of the stairs. (But preference should be given to Para 1.) 3. Based on your description, looks like the frontage of the house is the ocean view side instead of the main door side. In such a situation, it would not be ideal to place a water position on the `technical' front side of the house. 4. Usually, it is best if a physical FS audit could be done as it is difficult to advise on this on paper. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  7. Dear Max, 1. It would be best to look at the environment (other buildings), the site and building based on Shapes and Form FS. Therefore, it is quite difficult for me to comment on just a few things. 2. On a commercial level: 2.1 If the building is an existing building, perhaps, you may need to find out more.. how the previous tenants were fairing. Plus looking at rental amounts... 2.2 How is the pedestrian traffic like. It should also be related to the type of business that you are offering. 2.3 The above are more important considerations, first. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Lora, In your situation, you can place two plants on each side of your entrance door to create a `triangle effect' with the tree. From a top down view, it would show as a triangle profile; where the tip of the triangle, points away from the house. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Lora, In my opinion, if it is not your main door or if there is no direct line of sight between your main door and the kitchen/entry door, there is no FS issue. The main concern is only if the main door is in direct line with another door (exit) door and Qi or (Chi) goes directly out of the house. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, 1. For those who stay in a landed property, a Ming Tang or semi-circular water position at the frontage radiating outwards would be a good cure against such twin `joss-sticks'. Here, the `water' symbolically put's out the "fire" or "smoke" of the `joss-sticks'. 2. As you live in an apartment, it would seem not appropriate (or impractical) to place a water position at the balcony. 3. If you are living especially in the Far East, one may use the Ba Gua mirror placed above the balcony (mid-point). 4. Alternative cures include:- 4.1. Placing two forks (as in forks and spoon) where each fork is placed on each side of the balcony pointing towards each `joss-stick'. B…

Dear Kyin, It is advisable to close the toilet door. As for the toilet cover, this is optional. The other advise, is to keep the toilet `bright' and dry to create a more yang environment. As for the Ba Gua mirror, in my opinion, this is not of any use here. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Winn, In general, without further detailed analysis, there is (in my opinion) relatively `low risks' or harm in placing 6 coins on the door knob. As mentioned in various forum messages, majority of cures is the use of METAL element. A little more METAL, should not create problems for many. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Please see below:- Usually, the analysis done by analysis e.g. 7 7 1 and their relationships with each other. Here, a 7 7 relationship may differ with the base number. Such as the `quality' of Double 7's may for example be better with a 7 7 1 than say, 7 7 2 Long gone prosperity are terms given to that specific sector. Other sectors could be `Current Prosperity'. For example under period 7, the current prosperity (term) is located at the centrepoint. As I mentioned earlier, these are merely terms given to specific sectors. It should never be glorified i.e. paid homage to. If one uses it `wrongly' and follow the trend of some.. who believe in sector Feng…

Dear Kum Loong, San He Water Theory i.e. San He or known as Mountain Water theory is very much based on Shapes and Form i.e. Water classics concepts. Majority of the concepts are summarised under:- http://www.geomancy.net/fs/wcourse.htm I recalled, sometime back Lilian Too wrote a book about Water Dragon Classic or something like that. Perhaps you can check out amazon.com ... Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Chloe, Yes, it is best to avoid placing a bagua mirror facing inside the house. In my opinion, you could place two potted plants on both sides of the main door entrance. But if the plants does block the walkway, then do not place the plants. I feel that a crystal ball would not help the situation. Overall, for now I am too sure how the two doors `interact'. But, since they do not create any poison arrows or sha qi, perhaps, you need not place any objects at these sectors. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Breadwinner refers to:- 1. When assessing a home, the breadwinner can be said to be the person who brings in the most money to the household. 2. If there are two `breadwinners' and each contributes to half of the money for the household, then usually, for computation purposes, it would have to be the male or the husband who should be considered the `breadwinner'. 3. The `breadwinner' need not be the owner of the home. It can be someone renting the home and in this case, we look for a `breadwinner' i.e. the person who pays the rental and earns the most in the home (rental). In this case, for assessment of the home (both homes), you can use your sister's part…

Dear Cecilia, Usually, I do not `verify' questions especially when a birthdate has been provided. At times, the question would be moved to the conference " Samples that will not receive a proper reply ". I hope you understand that, I not here to do all the homework i.e. someone furnish me a DOB and I have to first, do the calculations or pre-anlysis. Instead, quality time should be spent on analysis or provide advise based on all available information provided to me since there is only 24 hours a day. Warmest Regards, Cecil P.S. For those who are perhaps new or not too sure what questions would not be answered please browse thru the forum " Samples that will not receive a…

Dear Kaushal, #2 = earth #3 = wood In my opinion, it would not be a good idea to use water i.e. a bowl of water as water will enhance #3 or wood. My advise is to use a METAL cure. Here METAL does wonder to neutralising #2 and #3. There are many METAL cures already mentioned in this website. My `favourite' is the use of 6 metal coins. As it has few or little hiccup's associated with some other cures like wind chimes. But cures such as 6 rod hollow wind chimes (may be used) or the use of a pendulum brass/metal clock with it's tick-tock effect are acceptable. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Rae, Frankly, Feng Shui is not so simplistic. It is difficult to achieve a `break thru' by paying homage to a corner i.e. career corner. Or feeling disappointed for some that `my toilet' is in the career sector. In my opinion, it is best not to practise FS in such situations. Usually, many have gone to paying homage to a corner and the end result is to buy items or materials or objects to enhance these sectors. The people who benefit from such `beliefs' are those selling the commercial wares who ultimately make the profit. Under the Eight House Theory, it is usually the time spent at a sector i.e. if a sector is e.g. the death sector but if one does not spent time th…

  21. Started by maxrosen,

Dear Max, Yes, with proper soil analysis and soil management especially drainage and structurally sound retaining walls, houses built as you had mentioned can be auspicious. Many a times, some of the various reasons below compounded by weather may cause landslides: 1. In many instances, too many houses were built on these hills providing downward pressure on the hill. This is less of an issue if there are no heavy downpours. But if there are heavy downpours, coupled by poor retaining walls or vegetation.. a landslide may be eminent. 2. Ideally, the best hills are those of limestones (hard rocks). Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, 1. Feng Shui (earth luck) and other Chinese divinity methods such as Pillars of destiny (Heaven luck) are often looked at in a holistic way. 2. Frankly, there are no quick solutions to understanding your problems. 3. What FS and other Chinese divinity methods are used is to boost one's luck or if it is Pillars of Destiny (to understand one's Heaven map and improve/change some of it). 4. Furthermore, with unemployment either due to structural unemployment or competitiveness (some prefer to employ younger employees)... there are so many other related situations that may have to be looked at. 5. True Feng Shui can only help to improve one's luck. But there are lim…

Dear Rae, If not sure, don't `activate' anything. It is not like buying some objects or items at $500.00 and hoping that one can get back a return of $1,500 or more. The only sensible way to `invest' money is through proper finance schemes or through low risk returns such as Fixed Deposits or Savings Account. Many fall into the trap of "Credit Card Feng Shui". Where, one gets cash advance in the `hope' of getting a return. The only return here is a bill with accumulated interests that loan sharks would only goggle their eyes on. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Angeline, Under macro Feng Shui; for Singapore, which is located in the south, ideal colour of doors especially entrance doors is white or represent the metal element. For your case, I have seen the doors and felt that it is `minor' and in my opinion, will not have any effect on your family. As opposed to the headboard which is symbolic of sleeping in a tomb. Therefore, I personally feel that there is no issue and there is no need to paint the lovely `natural' wood coloured door(s). Warmest Regards, Cecil
