Dear Susan, Frankly, looking at one `idea' in Feng Shui or using it to audit a house may not provide the full picture. In your case, try to apply: 1. Shapes and Forms 2. Compass Schools: e.g. Eight House - not only the main door but bedrooms for each family members. There are more e.g. looking at one's Ba Zi to harmonise with the home e.g. for an individual such as a weak water person such as white walls. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Joji, Appreciate if you can re-confirm the following, by filling in the blanks: 1. 20 Year Flying Chart for North Sector: ======================================== What is the #Mountain, #Base and #Water (Here, the base is equally important to understand the specific sector). 2. Year Chart: ============= What is the reining number for the Year Sorry to ask this because, I am confused by what you had written below. Usually the normal convention is #2 MS vs #5 WS #6 BS And for the Year = e.g. #1 YR Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Regina, Frankly, between the two, and if this is a regular (room) and not a storeroom, than often, opening such a room to tother rooms to let in fresh air is often a more sensible approach. Unless we live in a space station, where we can simply seal up a room, than we could go ahead to lock up the room. Opening a room, by having doors opened all round a home would allow for constant fresh air to move or circulate within a home. In Feng Shui, the worst senarios are : suffocationg qi or stale qi especially from a normal room. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Cecil, I desperately need your advice and help on my career. I recently went on a couple of job interviews with many disappointments as I have the qualifications and many years of experiences for the job, but never get selected. There was one job I went in to interview for a very well-known and good company this past Tuesday and Friday (this one is the final with the head) and overall they went well. I was told by my recruiter that they really like me except for the final interview with the head she felt like none of the candidates including myself stood out although the interview was good. I heard she was a very hard to please person. I know this position has been o…

Dear Anon, In Geomancy.net, there are free tools on Flying Star Feng Shui. Flying Star comes in two dimensions: A. Horizontal Flying Star or Xuan Kong Feng Shui. At http://www.geomancy.net main page, you can use the SEARCH feature and you can find many resources on it. B. Vertical Flying Star House Number for Apartments This free analysis can be found under http://www.geomancy-online.com I sincerely hope all users in this forum be more `pro-active' in their quest for knowledge. I personally feel knowledge is not gained merely by `spoon feeding' but rather, simple tools like SEARCH or even SEARCH using search engines such as yahoo.com or google.com will usually yield resu…

My main door, kitchen entrance door and door of utility room are all in a straight line. Please see attached floor plan for a better understanding. Is installing a curtain in the middle or back door alright to rectify the issue ? If yes, any requirements on the types of curtains? Please help me with your professional opinion and advice. Thank you Master. Most appreciated. Raymond

Dear Elvis, 1. Please see below:- 2. If your floor plan is rectangular in shape, you should try standing at the centrepoint of the house and from there take the direction of the main entrance door. 3. If I read what you wrote correctly, and if you were to follow what I mentioned under Para 2. In this case I understand that the main door that you mentioned perhaps should be considered at North-east and not East. Alternatively you can use this as reference:- http://www.geomancy.net/fs/cecilcompass.htm In my opinion, there should not be an issue in replacing the single seat sofa with a bed. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Marta, In my opinion, the first house you mentioned e.g. the toilet wall(s) share the same wall as both bed headboard. Although this is not ideal, it is still much better than if the house (near the cemetry). Especially if the house is either situated at a North-East to South-West alignment with the cemetry. Or if the main door is located at the North-East (devil's gate) or South-West (devil's backdoor). For the toilet wall / headboard, try to see if you can place the bed further away from the wall or better still try to place the bed on another wall (if possible). Warmest Regards, Cecil

1. If one has the time, one should understand this time-tested approach. And it originated from the medical field:- Feng Shui Triage Proper trouble-shooting is required. 2. Many other disciplines also have to apply this. 3. In a recent posting; one can see two worked Feng Shui charts. And often "no pain - no gain". 3.1. Often, a chart takes as much as4 hours to prepare, evaluate and provide recommendations. Be it a DIYer or a professional studying and working out the colour details. http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=19&mid=35094&new= 4. The other wayis via another time testedby instincts: if one wants to dispense with the above then…

Dear Joan, Here basically keeping the toilet door will reduce any influence. But again this isn't a very major issue to be too worried with. Please check one more recent posting on similiar topic, not sure if it was by you. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

Dear Desmond, 1. The most important for a house is that the main door must be suitable for the breadwinner. Less important for the other members of the family members. For them it is more important that their bedroom is suitable to them. It is alright that their main door isn't as suitable to each family. As for them luck comes more from the bedroom sector they stay in. 2. It depends. Your description is too vague for us to comment. 3. Owner should actually stay in the master bedroom whenever possible. This is based on symbolisming on feng shui. 4. There are so many different concept. In particular, where are you sleeping now. Where you sleep have an impact on you…

Dear Huey Ling, Yes, this is classified as "human sha qi" especially if we continue to consider it annoying. However, hopefully, you should get used to it. Perhaps you are a light sleeper. Some of us sleep like a "pig". Is there any way of changing room or alternatively a cheaper method is get a pair of swimming ear plugs. Hopefully, this can help a little. Alternatively, some of us play soothing music prior to sleep or drink a glass of warm milk. Warmest Regards, Cecil P.S. Apologies, I am afraid, these are not Feng Shui cures. Perhaps, some are grandmother cures.

Dear Anon, Frankly, this category of Feng Shui is often classified under "Kindergarten Feng Shui". Where we commonly hear: North = water, South = fire etc.. Just a few years ago, I remembered, locally some practitioners were simply practising this type of Feng Shui. Many of them, I heard, have very few business - if any. With more sophisticated consumers; it would be more fruitful to learn more of both Shapes and Forms as well as Compass School Feng Shui. Under Flying Star, instead of a generalised view that north = water, one should follow where the #1 star lands on the 9 grid system. Here, #1 and a combination of it e.g. #4 often leads to prosperity etc... Truly, do mak…

Dear Foo Leong, Often, if we are applying the Eight House (4 good/bad), we could use the other partner as a "shield". For example, if this room is very suitable to you i.e. Excellent and for your wife; her irritation sector. You should sleep closer to the sector of influence and your wife sleeps further away -- using you as a shield. This is only the best that can be done, here. Of-course, sometimes, it may not be possible at all. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, I have viewed, once, opened, close and open your mail. Seeing whether I have the time to understand even if I have to reply to it. Frankly, I often do not really like mails that show only text e.g. SSW etc.... To be more effective, I prefer a sketch or pictures. As I hope you can understand, I do not want to have additional `white hair' digesting the information. I had just glanced thru your message. Often, high walls are not favourable especially since you live on the ground level. Especially so, if the walls do not have `openings' in between. For example, some wrought iron grilles with a flower bed. This is often better to soften the walls. " And not make you…
