Dear Hoa Luong, Structural engineers or foundation experts are similar to doctors. In fact, many of them are certified in their profession. And given their professional accrediations, it is best to rely on their judgement. Surprisingly, sometimes, good quality wood may even lasts much longer than as mentioned the unexpected high expansion and contraction. It is best therefore to leave it to the professional competence of these people. In fact, often under building regulations, (touch wood) but should there be a structural problem in the future, these people, may be held accountable. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Lalarukh, Feng Shui has to do with preventive situations. Most likely it is better to seek proper medical expertise in the current situation. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

Dear David, 1. We all must understand that Feng Shui is not a `cure' all. 2. In my opinion, Great Feng Shui practitioners in the past try to apply Feng Shui that works for most people, most of the time. 3. Nowadays, it is sad that many Feng Shui practitioners use concepts like `wealth corner' etc... 4. For example, many Feng Shui practitioners will advise us that `X' is the location of the wealth corner. And when we follow their advise; it does not work. And, when we ask the practitioner, often, the answer is that `you must' have not done it right. 5. I can sum up that such Feng Shui practitioners are really not truly apply Feng Shui but rather, baised towards: Human or m…

Dear Jonathan, Under the 4 good/4 bad directions concept, there is a notion that one belongs to the `east' or `west' house. But, frankly, it does not sound logical to look at region to work in. What happens if we truly take the globe. And that a person truly belongs to the `east' house? In this situation, since US is West, what happens if (a crazy practitioner of FS) recommends instead -- forgoing the US entirely (West) and ask one to go to the East? Perhaps, Far East - - like, here in Singapore. The only advantage of using this concept is to see which direction one can work (in a given room). Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Alice, Yes, since #8 is considered as the water wealth position (under Period 8), and since there is a #8 at NE. And this COINCIDES with location like the living room, one can still activate a water feature at this sector. This is suppose to bring monetary wealth. And at mountain #8 plus the future wealth sector i.e. #9(and one can still activate a mountain star at this sector. This is suppose to activate the health luck or relationship luck.) For the year. Next year, however, this changes to another sector. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, In my opinion, this can be quite "tricky". For example, if it involves a major renovation to get the entire basement upgraded, there is a likely chance that your home can change to period 8. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Chung Mi, 1. In the past, I have mentioned about the idea of mirrors in the bedroom and the concept of: "How sensitive (thicked-skinned) are each of us?" 2. The "mirror" example: 2.1 Many of us have different tolerance levels. Often, we do hear of many persons who can literally sleep with lots of mirrors in their bedroom e.g. on the entire cupboards etc... And, these people, can really sleep "like a pig!". 2.3 But, we hear of the fantasy story ofa princess, who despite placing a single needle under her mattress, and stacking up many mattress, she can "feel" the needle. 2.4 So how sensitive are you? 2.5 Unfortunately, nowadays, our sensitivity (I suspect) has to…

Dear Leon, "Sector Feng Shui" or simply said - Paying homage to a sector, in my opinion, has the lowest success rate (if any). Even at this basic level, at least considering whether a location is bright (Yang) or dark (Yin) and then determining colour scheme (although) not the best method, but has certainly a higher success rate than enhancing a sector based on it's "so called definition e.g. patriah etc...". Frankly, this type of "Feng Shui" is not practised here. Erh.... " next question, please. " Warmest Regards, Cecil Thanks for all your

Dear Emily, 1. Is this home stayed-in for sometime already? Yes/No? 2. If Yes, 2.1 and if one has stayed in this house for a few years e.g. 2 or more years, than, it is best to draw TWO flying star charts: Chart 1 : facing direction - the balcony. Chart 2: facing direction - the whole stretch of the living room. 2.2 Try to check out each sector and in-particular the bedroom sectors to see if the flying star chart matches your current experience you have in your home. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Joan, Frankly, it all boils down to "It depends". Or based on each situation. For those who had studied management principles, it is called " Situational approach". And this principle suggest that no two situations are alike. Thus, sometimes what we read, could be a general statement. Let us not forget that, as I had mentioned previously, more importantly, we should not only look at the four inner walls of a home but rather, the biggest influence is the environment. In many of my past messages, I had mentioned; that Shapes and Forms prevail: External vs internal, SWOT analysis i.e. S.W.O.T refers to Strengths, weakness, opportunities and threats to a specific locatio…

Hi Anon, What you need to remember here is that we follow Animal signs based on the Chinese Horoscope. This means we based the animal signs on the Chinese Lunar Calanedar. 23 Jan 1974 to 10 Feb 1975 - Tiger 11 Feb 1975 to 30 Jan 1976 - Rabbit This means that if you are born before 10 Feb 1975 you are a Tiger, if you are born after 11 Feb 1975 you are then officially a Rabbit. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

Dear all, Question 1: I am about tomove into an 2000 sq ft office, and found out that the toilet is locatedin the south east corner - the cornerfor prosperity. I wish everyone in the office to prosper... what can I do other than closing the door, keeping the toilet seat down. how about painting the toilet wall green, or changing a brighter lightbulb ? making sense ? Question 2 : my own 100ft room has windows facing north and door facing south, my door is in the same direction of main door, both south-facing. now the south east corner of my own office room is the door opening inward, how can I enhance that corner ? I really wanted to earn a lot of money opening th…

Hello, I have recently moved into a small one bedroom apartment. It has narrow rectangular shape. I noticed a few things that seem suspicious to me: 1. From the main entry door, which is on the east, starts the corridor without any windows so from inside, an entry looks dark all the time. Corridor takes north-east part of the apartment. Does this require some feng shui cure? 2. Kitchen is in the central part of the flat and is part of the corridor. Is this bad? 3. Bathroom (especially bathtub and toilet seat) takes north side of the apartment and the north part spreads through the wall into the living room some 1m. Is this bad and if so which cure should be used? I read…

Hi Master Lee, I was reading about feng shui and the kua number recently, and I have a question about recovering from illness. My kua number is 7, and I read that the Southwest direction is best for health. I'm from the Northeast part of the country (USA), but I moved to the Southeast a few years ago and I've felt ill since I moved here. I recently became sicker, and I wonder if I can recover if I move to the Southwest part of the country. If I move back to the Northeast, could I recover there? Thank you for any insight you can provide.

Dear Sonali, 1. In the past, I had given an example of often; of how teachers advise their students to maximize their examnation marks. Or briefly the "exam technique". 2. For example, if we are going to take a comprehension exam paper. And we must answer 4 compulsory questions. If the total score = 100 percent then each question is 25 marks. 3. In many situations, we often hear students, only have time to answer 3 questions (some writing out of the point) and often, we did not answer the last question. 4. Many teachers would often advise their students, to allocate their time e.g. if the exam is a 2 hour paper, then spent 30 minutes equally answering each of the 4 compul…

Dear Joan, 1. If this is a landed property, then normally you should take the facing of the house which is South East 2. 2. Do check the layout vs the star numbers. Since, period 8 star chart is also not as fantastic. The only advantage here is the water star #8 is located at the frontage, while the mountain star is located at the back of the house. Otherwise, there is no really other incentive other than this two to fly to this period. Since many other sectors are not as good. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

Dear Master Lee, whenwe are looking for a new house, apart fromchoosing a house with the appropriate shapes and forms, should wethen go for the favourable house-facingdirection according to : 1) Eight Mansions Feng Shui - in this case, myself, my husband and my daughter all belong to the "West" group, so should we go look for a West-facing (or South-west or North-west facing) house? 2) Bazi Elements - in this case, my favourable element is Earth which is NE or SW direction, but my husband and daughter both have favourable element in Water, which is N direction. Water is my unfavourable element, so if we go by Bazi when choosing a house-facing direction, wouldn't we clash…

Dear Frank, This should be seen under the Holy Trinity of Feng Shui: 1. Heaven luck (it is said that what we are blessed with) 2. Earth luck (luck or no luck at all from our home) 3. Human / Man luck factors Rearing animals is considered as cat 3 i.e. man or human luck factors. Frankly, there is relatively no problems rearing animals as pets. Since, this past-time is as far back as 3 or 4 centuries ago. Since pets often bring us comfort or even solice. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Mr, Lee. I always think sword can protect someone from bad spirits. Most of all, I practice Kung Fu. Is it bad to hang swords in the living room or inside the garage? I have a Japanese sword hanging above the fire place in my living room. It is also facing my kitchen stove. Is this bad feng shui? I also have4 Chinese swords (one without the case ) hanging next to the garage door. Is this bad also? Thank you for advise.

Hello! Please Please Please advise. We would like to purchase our dream home however, the house is facing NorthEast which is the worst direction that leads to disaster and misfortune this year. The house is also a flag lot, and I've read that this would bring bad luck to a marriage. Is there anything we can do to fix this so we can buy the house and have a good year without misfortune? If we can't live in it this year, can we still purchase, renovate, and move in next year? THANK YOU!
