Dear Carol, Please see below:- A warm welcome to you:) The application of Feng Shui depends on the following:- 1. Ranking and priorities. For example doors facing each other is `secondary importance.' Same goes for a rotating fan. 2. If one wants to apply Feng Shui, it is not a `direct' application. 3. It also does not involve only one concept or theory. But a multitude of theories and concept such as: 3.1 Shapes and Form. 3.2 Compass Schools - Eight house and Flying Star. 3.3 Pillars of Destiny (element and its strength). 4. Many people believe that `Fast Food' Feng Shui is the way to go. They go buy a few books on Feng Shui. Not only do they buy the books, they …

That direction is facing the lift / lift lobby area, I hope there are no conflicts. 1. It is always good to share more information. As my earlier advice was simply based purely on a 2D layout plan and "best placement". Since that direction is facing the lift/lift lobby area, then there is indeed a conflict i.e. in this instance, may not be appropriate to place it there. Dear Earl, 1. Usually an apartment is unlike a landed property. Where at least is larger and much easier to analyse than a small tiny apartment. 2. For a small tiny apartment, one school of thought is to look at the entire building and determine the facing and sitting direction, here. This is especially more so since the entrance to an apartment can be at odd directions etc... In your case, if you cannot really determine the facing direction, than it is best to use the building's facing direction. As for your second question, it depends. Warmest Regards, Cecil

There is one commonsense concept which Shapes and Forms Feng Shui considers critical: "Bright Hall" or "Ming Tang". This simply means that if possible the area around the entrance (or facing direction) should have "clear unblocked space". This simply means that there is some lighting best would be natural lighting at the front area. Another purpose is to allow qi to collect within the area. Even if there are steps leading down but based on the vague info, you did mentioned that there is something like 2 metre space = which I attribute to some form of a "bright hall". Which is acceptable. Not the best, but may be acceptable. Contrast this to some old buildings where the…

  10. Hi, This is not a real issue because under the Eight House Theory, one aspect is that it is advantages or good to have the `kitchen' location where the spouse or " woman " of the house have the good intangible force in that sector despite whether there is a oven or a microwave in the location. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Mercedes, Frankly, this question is very general. Objectively, companies look especially for specific skill sets that can help them to enhance their business. This is not Feng Shui:- And nowadays, jobs also depends on the number of applications and suprisingly, it also depends on your cover letter and resume. From past experience, the human resource department staff or manager will take no more than 30 seconds glance at your letter and resume. Therefore, it is highly essential for you to attract their attention. Thus cover letter should be short and sweet and the first page of your resume should have a photo. Nowadays, you can easily scan it clearly. Anyway, wishi…

Dear Rosemary, There is step-by-step guide as to how to apply the Eight House Theory under this link: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/house1.htm More importantly, you should do the following: 1. Have a layout plan of your house. 2. Find the centrepoint of the house. 3. From the centrepoint plot in the exact compass direction i.e. North / South - East / West. 4. Get the eight house chart or use a transparency and write down each of the intangible forces on the layout plan. For more information, please refer to the aboce link. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Alejandra, Thank you for your question. It has to do with the concept of wealth collection. In general, an elevated land (on one side) is not as favourable as a depression. In many instances, the word elevation / or depression may be exaggerated. In many cases, they are gentle to the eye. Only on closer evaluation, does one notice the elevation or depression. A depression is preferred over an elevation. Under Shapes and Forms, a depression would suggest `wealth' retention. This is not the same as a physical building that is taller than the other. A building can be taller or lower than another building but, in such situations, there is no mention of how it sits on a l…

  14. Dear Master Lee, whenwe are looking for a new house, apart fromchoosing a house with the appropriate shapes and forms, should wethen go for the favourable house-facingdirection according to : 1) Eight Mansions Feng Shui - in this case, myself, my husband and my daughter all belong to the "West" group, so should we go look for a West-facing (or South-west or North-west facing) house? 2) Bazi Elements - in this case, my favourable element is Earth which is NE or SW direction, but my husband and daughter both have favourable element in Water, which is N direction. Water is my unfavourable element, so if we go by Bazi when choosing a house-facing direction, wouldn't we clash…

    1. When using an oridinary compass, to take a reading, one should stand inside the house looking outwards. 2. For a landed property, often, the facing direction should often be (or usually) such as standing inside the compound of e.g. the garden looking (taking a reading) facing the same direction of the main entrance. Here, in general, many homes have it's frontage / main door at this area. 3. Try not to apply the fixed template bagua Feng Shui. This is a modern invention.

Dear Sue, Please see below:- Yes, the extra utility room should be included. Under Flying Star Feng Shui, if you house was built prior to 1984, and with this extra utiltiy room built after 1984 and renovations done at the exterior facade, the birth chart of your 3i flat should now be changed to Period 7 (1984 onwards). The above is for info, if you are using Flying Star Feng Shui. Based on Eight House Feng Shui, there is not much one can change the above base on this concept. One the house has been purchased, nothing can change this aspect of Eight House theory. This theory can tell how suitable a house is to the owners but it has its limitations. Usually, it is …

Dear Carolyn, Since there is a MS#5 (bad earth - loss, misfortune, sickness) but it is further inflamed or fuelled by #9 (fire), this is an inauspicious combination. Fortunately, there is a #6 controlling it. Thus, it is in control. Given this situation, there is no harm with a water feature, here since, it can help to extinguish #9. Thus, letting the #6 strong metal - controlling #5. Therefore, there is no issue with a fish tank, here. Warmest Regards, Cecil I have I checked the flying star On 12/31/2003 7:49:53 PM, Cecil

    1. In general, it is not so good to have a water feature at NW sector unless one can confirm or use Flying Star Feng Shui and so happens that the water star #8 could be at this location. 2. Otherwise, it is still not the best location - based purely on very general Feng Shui (Five elements) concept.

Dear Luna, Yes, a water element in the position you had mentioned symbolically means `illicit affairs' and for a wife, it would not be advantageous to have a water position on the right side of the main entrance door. It is acceptable to have the aquarium instead at the South East corner which is the `wood element' area. Is it OK if it faces the main door?

Dear Noe, 1. For a weak earth element person, a fish tank is neutral to the person's element. It does not enhance a weak earth person. 2. Unless one has a fish tank / aquarium as a hobby, to a FS practitioner, it is usually meant more as a `cure'. While in the past and present, a Taiwanese FS master would usually use more of plants. While Hong Kong Feng Shui practitioners use more of fish tanks. For example, if there is a lone lamp post which seems to slice into the window. Here, a FS practitioner may recommend the use of a fish tank. 3. Please note that fish tank is thus used more as a `cure' to neutralise sha qi in Feng Shui. As its qi is considered `slow moving'. Dear Anon, It is not advisable to place water at the right side as the belief is that it may lead to `illicit affairs' (although a water position is acceptable). Warmest Regards, Cecil
