Seek General Advice from Master Cecil Lee

  1. Started by myfs_103157,

Greetings Master Cecil and Master Robert. Pls advise why the stove should not be located near or at the center of a house? I had a previous query on my stove and you mentioned that the original location which is near west orientation is much better than the proposed facing west but near center location of my home. My birthdate is March 20, 1965. Appreciate any advise or comments Masters. best regards and happy holidays... your fan - concon roque

Hi Mr.Lee.... I would like to ask what is the best location of the stove for a west group person gua no.6. Currently the house that we are planning to buy has its stove in the northwest (meaning the opening of the oven faces NW) Thank you very much. Tricia Tan

Thank you for your reply Master Lee! To follow up, 1)Is it worse to have the stove share the same wall as the drain pipe or to have it on the island? 2) Are there any remedies if I have to put it against the wall sharing the pipe short of rerouting the drain (a costly option)? 3) How do I go about finding out my best direction as the lady of the house according to the Compass School? Thanks again for all your help! Best regards, klb

Dear Mui Ing, Frankly, although, this may sound uncomfortable, it is not as "bad" as compared to a toilet e.g. toilet bowl on the same wall as the bed-head. This is because, a water position is much like this article: http://www.geomancy.net/resources/art/art-under.htm Where the invisible vapours of water could cause cancer. However, for a stove, the only main issue(s) are: 1. If one forgot to switch off the gas. It can affect any room in the whole house. 2. Other than this, usually there is often not a major issue of a stove "affecting" the other side. Since, we do not cook at night and a reasonable thick wall. Frankly, therefore, I do not see it as a major direct threat…

Hi Master, I have read a lot about where to place a stove in your various topics. Due to the layout of my kitchen, it seems like the best place to put the stove is opposite the shower door (toilet and shower seperate area), is that a bad idea? Alternative would be to move the washing machine (front load + stack dryer) and squeeze the stove in between the 2 doors but it make the counter and kitchen layout very difficult.

Dear Cally, Glad to hear from you Frankly, Feng Shui is a holistic approach. So you are quite correct in that often there are more than meets the eye. For example, under Flying Star Feng Shui there is the dreaded #3 (conflicts, quarrels) star. Often it can be at a critical area such as the frontage of the home and/or even in the bedroom sector. And it has to be disarmed. Usually a stove facing a sink has more to do with "wealth leaks". Frankly, it is hard to pin point the issue with the limited information.

Dear Oliv, Actually quite alot of concepts on the stove position comes from the interpretation of the 8 tigrams. For example, the two major concerns of many Traditional Feng Shui practitioners are:- 1. The North-West. The North-West is suppose to be the represented by THE FATHER or HEAVEN. Thus one may come across this often used term " Fire at Heaven's gate". Although you selected NW = H1, many FS practitioners consider it inauspicious to have a stove at NW. Since this is like having a fire at the Heaven's gate. Or letting the father or this is suppose to be the head of the house under fire! Hello. I've read that the front of a stove where the oven door is …

Dear Oliv, Please see below:- 2. It is equally nice-to-have the stove not at the NW sector of the kitchen -- if possible. 3. The first point is like "must-try-not-to". While the second point (para 2) above is like "nice-not-to-have it" at that position. While a sink (with a tap) and dish washer etc... contain or have water. Thus = water element. Thus it is best not to have opposing forces facing it directly - clashing with the stove. The washing machine and sink can be on the opposite wall -- is ok so long as they are not in direct-line "facing each other". This is OK. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Lee Seng, Frankly, it is better if you have simple sketch rather than all descriptive words to eliminate mis-interpretation and the need to aborb too many lines. Futhermore, a picture, tells a thousand words. Generally, for a kitchen located at the South compass direction of a home, here, the stove can face the fridge. Since south has the element of fire. But if the kitchen is at the North compass direction, or NE direction, than preferably, the stove should not "see" the fridge. Please see below:- This is OK. For family's health, it is often arranged to suit the ba zi of the wife. This two can share the same wall but avoid having the fridge right in th…

  11. There are many concerns in the kitchen. However, as your question is specific to a stove sharing the same wall as the kitchen door; this area has much to do with two senarios:- 1. Often it is not good to have the stove face an "opening" (or entrance). This should not be the case here. 2. The other situation is related to commonsense. Here, should a fire envelop; it may burn the nearby cabinet and block "escape" out of the kitchen for anyone trapped in it. Or in an intense fire, smoke or flash fire can quickly engulf the home.

Hi, my stove is located at north east and is sharing same wall as the bathroom. Would like to ask if this is ok? Or should I move the bathroom. Thanks

  13. Started by myfs_105288,

Dear Anon, Frankly, this has not much to do with the need to place a symbolic object to "neutralise it". But rather, this issue has more to do with the "Commonsense approach" to Feng Shui. This is because, most of the time, it was felt that chances of a fire occuring in a home -- the most likely occurence could be from the kitchen. And since fire and heat travel upwards, this is our main concern. But in modern times, I would rather "invest" in having smoke detector(s) -- if you have not one already fitted than the bottle gourd. Here, there is a good chance that (touch-wood) in the event of a fire -- the smoke detector would go off and warn us. But the bottle gourd …

Dear Master Lee, Thanks for the good news andillustration. One last questions (for now ). So does it mean, in my case the stove location is fine as long as the sewerage pipe is not visible visually? What about bed headboard sharing the same wall as the toilet bowl which is not visible since it is on the other side of the wall? Thanks for your time in answering my questions. Lenus Lee

From a Chinese Luck System: i.e. commonly known as the "Holy Trinity of Luck":- Heaven Luck (born with) Earth Luck (in your case your home) Human or Man Luck (your dad's affirmative action with support from family members). We have not fully looked at the Earth Luck of your home. But just a general understanding. Based on the Holy Trinity of Luck, see how you and your dad and family members can also try to focus on how best strategically you can try to "stop" more people coming to your home. The saying goes "blood is thicker" than water. And only immediate family members apply, here. Others e.g. cousins, relatives are not direct family members. So, it is good to discus…

  18. Hi Cecil Welcome your advice on feng shui of having a streetlamp (marked x in attached picture) on pavement directly opposite my driveway and detached garage. Further to what I mentioned earlier, there are many ways of looking at the nos: 1. If we add up 1 + 2 + 4 = 7. Since we are in Period 7 (1983 to 2004), the combined nos 1, 2 & 4 which is 7 can be seen as good or auspicious for this period. However, the argument by others is that no. 7 should be one of the nos instead of adding it up. Thus perhaps a house no. 127 is better? 2. We can look at your house no. based on Yin and Yang concept: 2.1 Where Yin nos are considered even numbers while odd nos are considered Yang. Thus your house number is made up of: 1, 2, 4 which is 1 = Yang 2 = Yin 4 = Yin Where 1 is considered a starting number or symboically the beginning. Whe…

There is a street slotted storm drain directly in front of my front door. its on the street curb on my side of the property, so directly in front of my house aligned with front door. Can not be covered. Its not a sewer drain since it as a fish logo on it. Its for water runoff. Front door is South facing. Can not change color of door. What cure can fix this?

  21. Dear Anthony, 1. The fact that we have been using an online analysis, is already a clear indication that a mathematical way to determine the weak and strong throughmathematical calculation. There is no publication of such a mathematical formula from what I know so far. You can always use our online report to assess any person to see if they should be considered weak or strong. http://www.geomancy.net/reports/free-report/freerpt-element.htm 2. There are two ways to go about that once you determined whether you are weak or strong:- a. By default as a weak metal for example, it would naturally mean that you either lack earth or metal, while you have too much of fire an…

Dear Anon, That looks like you have enhanced yourself sufficiently. Remember that by using Water, any metal you meet will be turned into Water thus enhancing your weak wood. I think that should be sufficient. Water is represented by wavy lines, glass objects type. etc. No, you should still have some of them, becuase in your case Earth is your wealth. Once you have enhanced yourself with water to strengthen your weak wood, you can then control your wealth deity which appears in the form of Earth. In any case, you should have a balance rather that completely removing a certain element away. This is because although Metal to you is your destruction, it also is the el…
