Dear Anon, Usually, the "sunken" part or the lower level can be the living room. Quite often, many houses have `split-levels where there are steps leading up to the dining room. Here, it is acceptable for the living room to be at the lower level. Usually, this lower level is level to the house exterior or slightly raised up. Warmest Regards, Cecil

This plot of land itself (I call it Land A here. It's the land I am asking for) is flat. The left neighbor Land C is on a slightly higher ground. This qualifies for the green dragon. The right side neighbor, however, is on a slightly lower ground. Thus, there is no protection for the house-to-be-built on its right side. The back neighbor land (Land B ) behind Land A stepped down to a flat land too. Thus, it's lower than the Land A. Then, Behind Land B, there is a hill. 1.. Does this hill at the far rear qualify the black tortoise, despite the fact that Land B is sunken?2..Overall, is this a good landform? Thanks

Edited by Robert: Such questions maynot get a reply because every personis different and every development also have good and bad units depending on which block and layout. So unless a some analysis is done to check it, it is not right to make generalised statement about a development. So it is better that you make use of some of our tools. Like the eight house to check that the house facing does not fall under the death / disaster. Also, check that other buildings around do not cut into the building or your view do not face temples/church etc. Or if you are unsure you should seek professional consultation services to help you do a floorplan review before you purchase …

But here it goes- I just moved into a new office and found a dead bat, I removed it, what can I do? My birth is august 7, 1963 and this office is on the west side of the building. thanks for any assistance. As you mentioned, this is not really a feng shui issue. In this case, bats/rats etc are all pest. So there isn't any problem that is related to feng shui. The only thing is that you may feel or think it might be a bad omen to have found something dead especially when you move just move in. So maybe spend some time to clean up/disinfectthe place or …

Is the SW direction good for water features for period 8 or is it for 2008 only? I'm quite afraid that I mightposition the water feature wrongly in the SW which is facing my main door and then tapping bad energy instead of good luck. Can I place it onthe east side of my living room, facing the windows but next to the Kuan Yin altar instead? Is this good for period 8 or this year only?

Dear Blanche, 1. I believe in proper application of Feng Shui, usually the colour co-ordination and colour / material of furniture should take into consideration the personal element of the person and his/her partner. 2. This is where, a person's element is determined i.e. weak or strong element. In addition to this, if one has a spouse, the binding element of the two are usually taken into consideration especially in the bedroom and areas such as the living and dining room. 3. The Flying Star analysis is also taken into consideration under Para 2 and the particular sector i.e. South West. 4. If para 1, 2 and 3 is not taken into consideration, then you may have best to go…

Dear Wendy, 1. In my opinion, it is too general to say that since the door is at SW, we should paint it according to the colour. 2. In THEORY or technically speaking, you can do that. 3. But the question here is what do one try to achieve? 4. In many questions asked, Thank God!, that nowadays, many users no longer ask me this one line question like: Where is my wealth sector? Which I do not reply to at all. 5. This is very relevant to the above question. If we use the Five Elements concept to explain wealth. 6. Under the Five Elements concept, wealth is created using the Destructive Cycle:- Reference: http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-5element.htm Where und…

Dear Doris, Yes, one consideration is SW sector. Another two sectors to consider are: 1. South-East (Eldest daughter) 2. South (Middle daughter) 3. West (Youngest daughter) If one only has two daughters than do check out Para 1. SE (eldest)and 3. West (youngest) For landed property, make sure that at the frontage; avoid having too many openings OPENED e.g. some landed properties have both main door e.g. wooden door and directly next to this a row of sliding glass. If often both this sliding glass are always opened together with the wooden door. Quote: Doris W. wrote: Hello! I am aware that the SW sector of the house is the romance sector. 16. 1. In my opinion, it is always good to do some research rather than depend frequently on "spoon feeding" info as a frequent forum user. 2. For example, the bigger picture includes the concept of "sum of ten", "pearl string". Which is part of some of these SW1 or NE1 flying star combinations. And the concept that there is no such thing as a perfect home in every way. 3. If you have gone thru some of my past messages, I have also warned of ill but correctable health e.g. for NE or SW homes.

Dear Anita, 1. Usually, an item or a `small object' will not have much influence over our lifes. For example, a swarovski crystal, will remain a crystal. This is because, it has no magical properties that can help `change our lifes'. 2. For better part, it dwells more with being a decorative piece or a `belief'. Decorative pieces such as the crystal in my opinion, is similar to any other objects or furniture in a room. 3. If we look at it as a `belief'. And if we ourselves belief that it will benefit us, then, it may change our outlook or even make us happy. Thus, for such objects, it is best that you personally feel that it (in the first place) it looks nice and then th…

Dear Elena, In fact, a Feng Shui investigation takes into consideration 3 factors: 1. Shapes and Forms Feng Shui 2. Flying Star Feng Shui 3. The trigram associations. Para 1 and 2, is pretty much documented or mentioned in many of the messages. Under Para 3, the trigram associations or commonly known as life associations, NW for some Feng Shui practitioners is believed to be the most important trigram in a home. This is because, it is suppose to be the Heaven trigram or the father or the head of the home. Let me give you an example: Many Feng Shui practitioners do not like the kitchen or stove situated here because, to them NW is the "Heaven's gate". And, a stove is …

Dear Anon, 1. This concept applies more to homes than to apartments. 2. If you are a worried wife, you can sigh in relief:) But there are differences in opinion here. In my opinion, it should come under Para 1. But do not add to this by placing a water position at this location within the apartment. Here, one can try and let the members here know if it is really true. Warmest Regards, Cecil

The house is a single detached residential house within a compound. The swimming pool is a part of the house since it was situated at the first floor underneath the living and dining rooms. Some says that this is not good because it resembles a grave. Is this true? Do we have to remove this swimming pool for our peace of mind. Thanks.

Dear Cecil Thnak you for your fabulous site. We are building a new house facing south west. We plan to have a swimming poolin the south western area, which has a bad water star. The only alternative is a more southerly direction - would it be more auspitious? In any case, what can be done to remedy and protect our veranda which is close to the swimming pool and has a very good mountain star? Thank you very much

Dear Sir: We found a good house with the swimming pool on the back. The pool does not "overpower" the house and has a "kidney" shape, which is really good. South is the location of the swimming pool. South is the area of Fire. Pool represents the water. I think there is a conflict here. Please, let me know if I can fix it or if I need to look for another house. With respect, Elena.
