Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Hi, I run an aquarium business out of my home. I have active aquariums in all sectors of my home except the north, south-east,and the south. I have no problem with the fertility of my fish. I have a problem selling them and bringing money into the house. Can feng shui help my business survive? Frankly, I think feng shui may not help you directly here. Firstly, based on an aquarium business, if you only cater to neighbourhood sales, then unless people know about your business, no one may buy from you. If your target market is export or wholesale, then you might have problem competiting with other bigger aquarium business who have large aquariu…

Dear Constance, constance king wrote: hello, i would just want to know if someone with fire element, is it alright to have an aquarium ? thanks so much for all your helpful informations. If you are a weak fire, then water won't be good for you. So not advisable to have an aquarium if possible. If you are a strong fire, then water will help to destroy your excess fire element. Then, it is perfectly fine to have an aquarium. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Hi Cecil, I read some posting regarding the aquarium placement on Geomancy and they are really interesting. I am weak fire and we have a small square aquarium at home. One thing that we realised just now, the placement might not be so great. How should we do it correctly? Does the aquarium placement need to move every year?

Dear Rachel, Rachel Rachel wrote: I'm a weak metal person, would it be harmful for me to have an aquarium even though it is for fengshui purposes (i.e. water feature as recommended by Flying Stars chart)? My husband is weak wood, my daughters are strong metal and strong water respectively. Water in general is good for your weak husband. Given he is likely the breadwinner, it will be good for him. Generally, water will exhaust metal so will weaken your weak metal. While, mixed for your daughter as one like water one has too much. But in general, the breadwinner would probably be the most important. A water feature if outside of the house is ok, as it will be more a wat…

1. Most of the time, it is not recommended to place a water feature in a bedroom. If you meant "my room" as the bedroom. Quote: Mark Anthony L. T. wrote: Is it safe to put aquarium in my room? or should I put it in the living room. 2. If you have the time, you may like to view some of the resources on the guidelines of placement of a water feature, under this link:- http://wiki.geomancy.net/wiki/What_makes_a_good_Water_feature/_fountain 3. In general, under this current period, you may consider placing a water feature at the SW sector of your living room (and depending on the layout of it). If Flying Star Feng Shui is applied, then the water feature may be placed at l…

1. Everyone has his/her ba zi or "birth chart". A home also has it's own "birth chart". 2. Under the Compass School of Feng Shui: a home's ba zi (birth chart) is based on the Flying Star Feng Shui. Where e.g. what is the birth date of the home? And in addition it's specific direction. Thus a home can be a Period 8, North-West 1 home. 3. So long as one can properly identify where is the water wealth sector of a home, we can than "safely" place a water feature in (inside) the home. 4. Thus, decision made under Para 3; is made first, without consulting or checking to see if the owner (breadwinner)'s elements are suited or not. 5. Thus under Para 3, the breadwinner or sp…

1. In GENERAL, under Period 8, it is highly good chance that a water feature at South-West can benefit "most" people as this is generally an "indirect-water" wealth spirit location especially if it is a balcony or patio area. 2. As mentioned in my earlier, message on your earlier question, we are talking about the Feng Shui of your home (earth luck). 3. Under the Chinese holistic approach to luck, there are three kinds of luck:- 3.1 Heaven Luck (what one is born with) and analysed via Ba Zi 3.2 Earth Luck (Your home, office, business or place of stay/rent) 3.3 Human or man luck (Relationships, family bonding etc...) and many also get conned thru"Bull-shit = buying of c…

1. Frankly, what you are asking is : I post this layout with my compass direction and you tell me where is it best for me to place a water feature. 2. Please note that this is a Free General Advise forum. 3. Your layout and compass directions are so specific to your case only. 4. Little wonder that no matter which website you try to find your answers, it has to be tailored to your layout and specific compass direction. There is no two ways about. 5. Imagine, if everyone post a layout plan, and expect specific answers... this is not the agenda of this forum. (Newbie or no newbie. There are other avenues including finding your Feng Shui practitioner - if you want t…

Dear Master Cecil, I hope to get a very short reply from you about this.Regarding placing an aquarium in SE sector, which has MS#4 WS #8 and base 6 (house facing W1), in general this sector is good for aquarium. However in 2005, star #3 flies into the SE and it seems like it is going to be quite strong. Is it still appropriate to use an aquarium here for 2005 ? Thanks.

Hi Master Cecil, I have a gold fish tank in the NORTH sector and a LARGE 400 litres marine fish tank in the NORTHEAST sector of the house. I understand this might not be ideal sectors for the aquariums for this year, but due to the massive size of the Marine Fish Tank, it is not possible to move it every year to the auspicious sector. So, what should I do? Marine Fish Tank - currently in Northeast sector, cannot be moved, i used a lid to cover the aquarium and hang a crystal sphere near the tankGold Fish Tank - currently in the North sector, can be moved if need to, i use a lid to cover the aquarium and place 2 brass dragon near the tank

Dear Colleen, 1. Yes, it is not adviseable to keep fishes in the bedroom. 2. To answer your question as to where to keep fishes, usually, this is looked into in relation to a person's (especially the breadwinner's Ba Zhi) and cross referenced to the Flying Star of each sector. For example, if the breadwinner's Ba Zhi is weak fire, it is best to avoid having a water position in the house. 3. Another area we look at is the Flying Star of each sector. Some sectors may be out of balance and adding water may cause further imbalances. 4. Well not to `scare' you in anyway but one can rely on instincts if Para 2 is not followed i.e. find a location which one feels comfortable ab…

Dear Diane, In general, where it concerns the compass location at north east, it is best to avoid creating or enhancing the location to become too yin. This also depends on the size of your aquarium. Where water is considered a Yin element and too much of it may not be good for this sector. However, further FS audit may be needed such as: 1. What is the lighting level (especially natural light) that goes into this room/area? More natural light -- more yang and good. 2. How large is the aquarium. 3. If a Flying Star analysis has been done; how many #numbers relate to Yin at this sector? Where possible, the Flying star #numbers at this sector should have more Yang influence…

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Hi,I am getting confused now with some of the feng shui tips. I have my front door facing east. But my part of my stairs (half of it) is facing the front door.By the way the stairs is by the wall. And it has 14 steps up to the landing.I cannot do anything to fix the stairs. What feng shui tips can I apply? If the concern, is the main door facing the stairs, then the best way is to have a screen or partition to block the path of the main door and stairs. This is provided you have some space to have this partition which is the best solution for this problem. Anonymous wrote: I also have an …

Hi Master, I stay in a private property and would like to keep 2 fish tanks in my bedroom as there is simply no space in the living room. I am single and stay alone. Don’t really mind the sound of pumps and fishes 1. Is it really a no no to keep fish tanks in my bedroom? 2. If I would like to keep two smaller fish tanks in the room, what is the best place? Thank you so much. Regards, John

1. Generally Aquarius by the Park has 10 blocks of flats. And many units face SE or NW while roughly two (or three blocks) that face differently from the rest. 2. Thus, in all developments, usually there are some good and some not so good units.

Dear Anon, 1. It depends on the shape/profile of the arched window. Usually if it is a semi-circular arch, above the door, window, this is still considered an auspicious shape. 2. One way at looking at it is that the semi-circular shape, pointint towards the sky does not have any impact as it cannot be considered a poision arrow pointing towards a position or room. 3. But becareful if you are using a triangular arched shape as this will introduce Sha Qi or poison arrow; tangent to the arch. For example, such a shape may be pointed towards e.g. the dinning table or living room. In the bedroom, this is worse as it will cause marital problems or lead to divorce or separation…

Dear Hoa, Please see below:- No need since there are already a 6 plus a 7. It is preferred to use a constant chime e.g. like a pendulum clock or constant metal instead of hanging two sets of 6 coins. Yes, given that there is a strong bad earth #2 plus a #3. And that #7 x 2 is quite weak to redress the #2 (although it can still cope with #3). A set of 6 coins would help here. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Hi, Generally bird baths that are equivalent of a face bath bowl or the `sink' should not be considered as a water position. But becareful, if it is more than 1 metre and have stagnant water, it is not auspicious. There should be some activity at the bird bath. More... As for birds, there are two situations with regards to birds:- Those that fly freely and those that are caged. A `secret' weapon of Feng Shui is that it is auspicious to have birds flying freely around your house. This means that there are trees around the house to provide a serene environment. Here it is `as good as' having Feng shui enhancers e.g. fountains. For caged birds, for many society and even for …

Dear Anon, Based on symbolism in Feng Shui, in my opinion, boxed beds are not considered `inauspicious': 1. It is still considered a `whole' bed i.e. it is not spilt up ned together (two single bed). Not "split up" even if it has two layers. 2. There should not be an issue on whether the bed should have a gap below it. This is because in many countires e.g. Japan, usually sleep even on tatami mats on the floor. 3. It is good to have paqua flooring or "wooden" flooring. This is because ceramic tiles or marble etc.. is `cold' to the feet. 4. Some worry that because of springs in the box beds, this is considered inauspicious. But, I personally believe that there should not b…

Csar Ritz (born 1850 to 1918) was a famous founder of several hotels. Notably, The Hotel Ritz in Paris. In short, there was a hygiene scare when the hotel opened. During those days the hotel has valvet wall paper and heavy drape curtains and shared toilets. WhenRitz tookcharge of the hotel; he made sure thateach hotel room hasit's own toilet. (At that time, most homes only have a shared toilet). He made sure that hygiene was a top priority and hemake sure that the walls ofeach room were white-washed and atthe same time; he got brass beds installed in each of the hotel room. His purpose for installing bra…

Hi, Not too long before the `Internationalization ' of Feng Shui where FS practioners read more of each other's works:- 1. Hong Kong FS Masters/Practioners are associated with the use of fish tanks to counteract sha. 2. In Taiwan, in the past, the `trademark' is the use of plants. Since most of us are not in Taiwan and Hong Kong: What happened? Most FS practioners all over the world use both! The one of the basic rule of the Shapes and Form School is not to (unnecessaryily) create poision arrows. Since most or all cactus plants have spikes these are considered poision arrows. Most of the time, if we follow simple rulesets such as above, we can in time easily deduce what …
