Based on pure common sense: "It is no point crying over spilled milk". Equally, no point banging one's head against the wall. Common sense says: The Concept of Maximizing Marks If it is there, what measure or measures are you talking about? You want a miracle to happen is it? Common sense, says, try toimprove in other areas.

Dear Yang Ming, 1. Reference: http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-ruler.htm 2. In the above url, one can find a sample Feng Shui ruler. 3. In the above illustration, one can see the top line (just above the inches). This TOP line is meant for Yang Feng Shui. Or Feng Shui for the living. 4. The lower or BOTTOM line (below the inches) relates to Yin Feng Shui measurement or Feng Shui for the dead. 5. Therefore, you could look at the TOP row. 1 Feng Shui foot is equal to an imperial foot of approximately 17 inches. 6. In Hong Kong, one may find 3 or more versions of the Imperial Carpenter's Feng Shui ruler. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Chee Kiong, Generally, the best way to determine your true birth element is to use Ba Zi day of birth element. 1. There are two ways to determine a ba zi element, the most basic way is to take the year of birth element. So most will take the fact that your Chinese Year is 1959 (Earth Pig), so your element may be considered as Earth element. 2. However, the problem is that even in the entire year ot 1959, there is still different element that a person may be born in depending on the day of birth. So the more accurate way is to consider the day of birth. This is because one can be a Strong water , weak wood born in an Earth Pig year. So the day of birth is more acc…

Dear Anon, In Feng Shui, we always try to find a `breadwinner' i.e. the person who brings in the most money. When using the Eight House Theory, try to check that the death/disaster sector is not at the main entrance door area. We should not have a micro view of the situation. In using the Eight House, you must also find out e.g. what is the intangible force affecting your bedroom. And other rooms you spent time at. It generally tells you how well suited are you to your home. You can also use the Eight House Theory to find a good sitting position e.g. facing a good direction for study, work... Other than this, the Eight House Theory has limited applications. Warmest Rega…

Dear Jen, In general, a ba gua or ba gua mirror should not be used inside a home. It is used facing out of a home. Try to check out a set of resources that I had posted last year under Photo Tours of Interest (with pictures). Under this link one can find the various types of Ba Gua mirror(s). Some have a Kirin figure, while some have a set of door gods on it. In many of such instances, the Ba Gua mirror is used for two reasons: 1. to ward-off evil and or 2. to neutralise sha qi e.g. facing a T junction. Some mirrors have concave, while others have convex or even flat mirrors. Under the above resource, I had covered some of this information. However, if it is meant to …

Dear Anon, 1. Under the Five Elements concept, crystals are usually considered as belonging to the earth element. The basis for this rationale is because, crystals come from the earth. 2. It would not be prudent to hang too many crystals in the house. The `natural' way is the use of chanderliers with glass crystals. This would be the best method without drawing too much `unsightly' attention. 3. Placing crystals at East and South can be a double edged sword as they are made of earth. 4. We should not be placing or hanging crystals all over the place especially if that location has no lighting. Without light to pass thru the crystal, it has no use at all. 5. Furthermore, h…

Dear Albert, I have considered the site relative to the Brighthill crematorium and columbarium i.e. I have explored the area and in my opinion, they are not exactly in direct path nor very close-by to this development. Overall, the general alignment of this plot of land i.e. the site (in general) is aligned in a North-South direction. This is a plus factor. Having taken this into consideration and the overall surrounding, it has its merits. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Currently, the best units atGardens are those facing the main gate (pool) such as Blocks 3 or 7. These blocks are not affected by the temple. For example, the units under these blocks (facing Sin Ming Walk) are NE facing and very auspicious under current Flying star. If possible, avoid Block 1. And Block 9 (Winter) because of the afternoon sun. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Robert, A homeless would often also need to have a place of rest or sleep. The greatest influence on a homeless has more to do with his immediate surroundings or the Feng Shui of his surroundings. The first basic premise of Feng Shui is that a shelter should be away from the rain or if possible higher (in case of flooding) etc.. Other than the above, man or human factors would feature more prominently in his/her life. This may be his/her motivation or non-motivation in life, physical and mental strength to take this kind of life. Hopefully, the next question asked will not be: How can Feng Shui affect an alien (or ET). Hmm.... let's hope no one posts such a ques…

Hi, The Traditional understanding is that only when one uses the `entire' formation of the Eight Trigrams based on Fu Xi or The First Heaven sequence Trigram than can it be said to be `activated'. For example, the Tai or Peace symbol used by Geomancy-u.com cannot be said to be `activated' as it does not represent a formation i.e. Heaven to Thunder etc... where the entire First Heaven Sequence Trigram also represents a Family unit. Reference: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/pakua.htm We may activate the Earth element i.e. the Five Star by painting e.g. the room yellow representing the Earth element. It is still acceptable to paint the backdoor blue but this is best avoided. Sym…

Dear Ammie, The Jade at 9 Bukit Batok Central Link. Usually, if the MRT track runs parallel to the unit, this is acceptable. However, if the unit directly faces the MRT track, it can be quite noisy during the day (when the MRT is up and running). And usually, from a Feng Shui point of view, can be considered as "noise pollution". Some of us get used to it; others tolerate. But, if given a choice, best to avoid it -- if one can. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, More importantly, the purpose is to correct any odd shaped room to be a square or rectangle room. As square and rectangle are considered the best shape rather than a room with odd corners. Frankly, the issue of whether it is a separate room is less important or really not a issue. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anthony, I hope I get your question correctly. If you are using the Luo Pan; there are many different types of Luo Pan out there. But no matter which type it is; the traditional Luo Pan has it's needle (always) pointed towards the magnetic"south" and the opposite side facing north. Warmest Regards, Cecil Anthony Lau Weng Loong wrote: Under this feng shui their is the early heaven arrangemt in luo shu & later heaven arrangement in luo shu rite. Dear James, The developer incorporated certain elements of Feng Shui. Specifically, when one gazes into the swimming pool, the outline of an ancient Chinese i-ching coin can be observed, characterized by the square hole typical of Chinese coins, complemented by the blue tiles within the pool. Some time ago, I visited Block 52 (units facing marking K) Source: http://www.themadeira.com.sg/main_siteplan.html. ** **Note: The link mentioned in RED is no longer available today. I found this particular facing unappealing due to the unfavorable Flying star numbers, as well as the view of what appears to be a distant "tomb" (Stadium). Similar to other cond…

Dear Shi Fu, I have opened an All-You-Can-Eat Hotpot Restaurant in Taiwan. Business was really excellent during de Ghost Month here. But when all the Good Brothers had gone business started to be weak. So I get into the art of Feng Shui, so I had discovered that the main door of my restaurant face my bad direction (North). I am a west group person. My Kua Number is 7. I am also an Iron Monkey. Another hand, I do realized that my GreenDragon face West and my Tiger face East. I do some changes inside fallow instruction in this site or books. Please give mean advice how to improve with my luck. Virtuamark

Nowadays, there are lots of new condos where the site is like a "fort". Here, many of these new developments have blocks/stacks that seems to "wrap" or "trap" the water feature in the middle of the site. And does not allow maximum air movement within the water positions and the external. There are some gaps, but this makes it harder for the evaporated "dirty" water to flow out of the site. And so after, if one's unit is low e.g. ground level or 2nd storey; and if none of the neighbour opens their windows; a high concentration of evaporated dirty pool water may filter into the home. What I like about the site plan of Ripple Bay is that although the blocks are arran…

Any body interested in learning how numbers fly can try the book called "The idiots complete guide to feng shui". But please don't apply the remedy given in that book since it takes in to consideration the water star and mountain star and it is based on the facing and sitting direction of the house. And does not base calculation on the location of main door.

1. Firstly, "Feng Shui is not a cure all". And numerology such as house numbers have no real precedence in Feng Shui. 2. No. 4 can be considered as a double edged sword. Some of us, don't look kindly to this number but there are some who feel neutral towards the number.

For the benefit of those who may not understand the relationship of Wind `opposite' Thunder, please refer to The First Heaven Sequence trigram. There is a graphic display of this at: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/pakua.htm Where: Heaven to Earth Water to Fire Mountain to Lake abd Wind to Thunder The above is based on the lengendary FuXi's First Heaven Sequence. Yes, you do have a good way of seeing it:) Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear cecil, The pakua mirror I am using is not convex mirror. It is the regular pakua mirror with the early heaven sequence and it comes with a hook attached to it so people wont hang it incorrectly. The poison arrow facing the main door is the neighbors roof and it points directly at my main door almost slicing it. I am not allowed to do anything else since it is rented property but I am allowed to use 1 nail so i used it to hang the pakua. Thanks.
