  6. Hi Everyone, For those who are reading messages through the mailing list, I have just updated the conference " Photo Tours with Interest " with two illustrations: 1. The Sterling condominum revisited. Graphic file showing an illustration of why the top two units are excellent choice. 2. The Eight Lucky Symbols of Buddha. This is where some Buddhist Feng Shui practitioners advise home owners to bury the Eight Lucky Symbols under their main entrance and or display a medallion in their house or office. Warmest Regards, Cecil P.S. The Photo Tours with Interest contains pictures and thus not appropriate to be sent thru the mailing list.

Dear Anon, Thanks for bring up this interesting question. 1. For a better picture, please refer to: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/5element.htm Please look thru, the TEN HEAVENLY STEMS, where: Fire element can be : Lightning vs Burning incense or Sun vs kitchen Wood element : Timer vs Hewn timber or a small plant For each element there is a `BIG' and `SMALL' 2. One should remember not to over `kill' or under `kill' in Feng Shui. The thing to remember is that each element has a `BIG' and a `SMALL'. For example, 6 coins refers to BIG METAL. It is quite acceptable to use BIG METAL to neutarlise a beam. But if it is e.g. the edge of the corner, do we need such a `BIG' metal as…

[Based on the message posted below] Dear Anon, Frankly, I also do not like to do manual checking and have done away with it. Perhaps, why not try to take up a course/correspondense from any of the websites that provide such a course. Currently, I am still not `satisified' with the current materials on the course at geomancy.net is suppose to launch. Will only launch it when I am completely satisfied with the quality and content. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Just to share with forum readers. I recently shifted into my new condo apartment in July 1999. On shifting in, my career did not improve. In fact, took a nose-dive. I was by-passed for a promotion and my boss was snubbing me for circumstances beyond my control. I read a FS book that stated that having a fish tank in the north sector of the living room will improve one's career prospects. I didn't want to manage the hassles of a fish tank, so, I thought of using something more static. I decided to install tiles of fishes on my cabinet that was located in the north sector of the living room just to see if things improve. Surprise! Surprise! six months down the road, I have…

Dear Members, 1. On member was asking on a book on choosing names. 2. Dr. Evelyn Lip had written a book approximately 110 pages. 3. One intersting topic is choosing names according to the number of strokes in each character besides other significance, symbolism and traditions in Chinese numbers. 4. In my opinion, the book is a simple introduction to Chinese numbers. And if you can find it in your local library, it is certainly worth borrowing it especially, if one wants to do a `research' into this area. (I think it should cost around US$10.00 or less.) Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Darlene, 1. In my opinion, many of us live in different parts of the world and climate/humidity is different. 2. Look out for plants that: 2.1. Are easy to maintain: They do not need much attention or need to be regularly moved out of the house. Plants that can `live' all year round the house would be nice. 2.2. Avoid plants that have torns or spiky. 2.3. In Asia, because of the humidity, some grow more plants with `waxy' leaves where moisture loss is less. In general the following plants can ge grown indoors (but depends on where it is placed) and the part of country one is in:- - Lilies - Money plant - Begonias - Bromeliads - Peace lily The above are some of the ty…

  19. Hi everyone, I remember a user posted a message regarding vast u. Well I came across a book called Vastu Living Creating A Home for the Soul by author Kathleen Cox. After reading the book I was surprised to notice lot of similarities between vastu and feng shui. Vastu Indian science of architecture and is also based on cardinal direction and also emphasis the nature and 5 different elements(air, water, fire, wood, earth). But there is heavy emphasis of symbolism (deity). Well, anybody looking for more information on vastu should try this book. Good luck!

  20. Dear Darlene, It would be `difficult' for me to reply to the question of a question on a `CORNER' and provide a `fixed' answer to it. This would mean the forum would end out no better than a non-tradtional Feng Shui forum and become more like a FIXED TEMPLATE Feng Shui forum. In my opinion, fixed template Feng Shui is nothing more than a `con' job in trying to provide "advice". It is never wise to pay homage to a `corner' or simply look at corners. *JOKE* It also reminds one of wearing a DUNCE hat and asked to stand at the corner. There are more that real Feng Shui offers to many rather than the above. I have provided many examples and caricatures on the `effects' of corn…

  22. Dear Darlene, It is difficult for me to recommend you on a print or photo as Feng Shui dwells more deeper than just a print or photo. The holistic approach to Feng Shui involves, a serious look at the Shapes and Forms both of the environment, the site and the home and the interior. Prints, photos are secondary and if this question was asked other than from a Traditional Feng Shui site, you can get remarkable `results'. Perhaps been asked to buy a special print that the author and some other sites would earn a commission out of. Even in Traditional Feng Shui, more need to be known. In my opinion, buy what you like or enjoy. Buy not because, one is `told' that it can bring …

If my bedroom door is north facing into the bedroom and the bed head is facing east what can I do to help my husband sleep ! He has chronic sleep problems. His birthstar is 6Wood (born 1958)and mine is 8 Metal(born 1966). Our room is dark and full of dark furniture - at the foot of the bed is a large dresser(West), a window (south) is directly opposite the door, and another window is at the NE corner. We have a house fan that pulls all the cool night air in but I'm wondering if it's activating too much chi through the bedroom for sleeping. Any thoughts, advice or remedy possibilities. Thanks - I'm so glad I found you ! Lydia

Some of us are familiar with the term "K.I.S.S." applied in other areas. K.I.S.S. refers to " Keep it Simple Stupid ". It is worth remembering that the essence of the above sentence can equally be applied effectively to Feng Shui. After all, it is commonsense and many Feng Shui concepts, theories and ideas are borne out of commonsense. Say "K.I.S.S." the next time:) Warmest Regards, Cecil P.S. I sent you all my " KISSes ":))
