Initially, we were toying with time zones but based on the work done by Robert and myself, we prefer to take the season or time of influence from China. Let me explan why:- 1. Countries like Singapore is exactly on the same time zone as Beijing China. Hong Kong, Malaysia and Taiwan are equally within the same time zone. Dear Cecil, Thanks for your reply. Would like to clarify some things: * The trees planted have about 8-10 ft. distance between them. Also, I planted them in the first place because there was way too much sunlight coming in and the rooms facing that side used to get very hot. These trees also do not have dense foliage. Hi Cecil, Thank you so much for your FS considerations on water items. I've bought a small water fountain because I just love having one in my living area. The sound of flowing water in the fountain gives me a relaxing feeling and somehow a sense of invigorating energy in the mind. In terms of personal strength, I'm a strong earth person. My wife is a weak water person. I know that earth clashes with water. Dear Karen, I believe that water leaks should be the pumbing of the house and not related to `omens'. Frankly, for now it is difficult to associate leaks with `Feng Shui.' Dear Anon, Grateful if you can further elaborate on the extension. For example is it an `external' extension for a car park or an internal one. If internal, what is it used for. In addition, anyone who is familiar with the history of the house. This is because, beside the new extension, we could perhaps, `back-track' to see if any events match the flying star of the period. Dear Anon, 1:3 is equal to 33.33%. This is a reasonable Feng Shui figure. (please see below) The above is a good guideline. It is used widely in the forum and it should be a good guage when applied to doors and windows. Other "applications" include the advice given if the missing area is 33.3 percent or more, this is considered a missing corner. More examples can be found in messages under this forum. Dear Anon, Usually, from what I have encountered, this should not pose a problem. Especially if one only rents a bedroom. There is not much choice here. The only thing to remember is to conceptally "departmentalise" the bedroom i.e. keep the scultures at a corner or if really no space on a display shelf or at a corner table or even share it with the study table. Dear Anon, 1. The reason why some FS Practitioners say to palce it in the good sector is so that when it rings, it is suppose to bring `good luck'. Unfortunately, there are others who have the view point that the `ringing' at a good sector `chase' away good luck. 2. Some on the other hand advise to place as what you had mentioned, West and NW because these are metal element sectors. Dear Anon, So far, I do not believe that anyone has painted their walls black. Black creates a dark environment. Contrast this with a white wash house that looks bright and clean. Therefore, there is some truth in the statement. Applying the 33.3 percent ruleset, other black objects or items should not be an issue here. For example, IBM products are all black. Their excellent IBM thinkpad notebook PCs, some high end PCs are all encased in black. Robert and myself, do use these black machines without cause for concern. Dear Anne, True Feng Shui is not like `Credit Card' Feng Shui. One do not need to `purchase' something in advance in the hope that spending such money would get one riches. If one is not sure of where to place a picture of a waterfall, one should try not to place it. The other method is if one feels comfortable about it and really like the picture and have to `urge' to place it at a location. Ideally, pictures of water falls should not be placed in a bedroom. Under the Flying Star School of Feng Shui, for example if there is an imbalance e.g. a Sickness (2) star and a Misfortune (5) star. Dear Felicia, Frankly, under Feng Shui (Pillars of Destiny) there is no direct application to improve one's relationship. This is because the closes concepts is based on Pillars of Destiny (Ba Zhi). However, Ba Zhi has an `escape clause' which says that it can map out one's Heaven map e.g. of a person and his/her luck.
