Dear Anon, Frankly, there are a few ways to determine a good date:- 1. For most people using the Tong Shu helps them to generally find a good date. 2. Others based on the full moon or half moon. Normally, 1st or 15th of the month are generally considered auspicious dates. 3. More personalised analysis by considering the individual ba zi in addition to key tong shu event. Our website uses this method so it is like having a personalised forecast of best dates just for the two person being analysed. Either way, as long as you it is done properly, tends to be able to find a good date for you. I won't worry too much if you cannot change the date as you can also attempt t…

My best friend just told me she intend to get married in March which is still within 100 days from my wedding date, I heard that it is best to avoid, is there any remedy or what will happen if I attend her wedding and she attend mine? Looks like this year is a good marriage year. Thanks. Chin

Edited by Robert: Please note that wedding date isn't a free advice type of question. Simply because in order to know for sure whether a date is good or bad, individual ba zi need to be check for the day to see if it clashes or harm. Free analysis is only available for checking any dates within 30 days from today:- http://www.geomancy.net/reports/free-report/freerpt-dateboth.htm If based on a tong shu, generally 24th June will be bad for Dragon and average for pig. Doesn't show that is bad for wedding otherwise. Hi Master Cecil! I'm new here! I just have a question to ask. I cannot seem to find any chinese calendars for 2006. Is June 24th (2006) a good date for we…

Dear Vanessa, CONGRATULATIONS! 1. Frankly, this has more to do with beliefs (Chinese beliefs) than Feng Shui. 2. In the past, it is common to see the frontage of a wedding card with the circular Phoenix and Dragon motif on pink coloured paper. 3. A sample is as shown under Geomancy.net's picture resources:- http://www.geomancy.net/mypictures/cgi-bin/mypictures.cgi?action=view&link=Celebrations_And_Festivals/Chinese_Weddings/invitation_cards&image=wedding-f2.gif&img=0&search=wedding&cat=all&tt=&bool=and 4. This is where the Phoenix is suppose to represent the dragon represents the male gender with the `double happiness' motif at the bottom of th…

Hi, 1. A good location is always on the wall of the `head' of the bed (headrest). 2. In modern times, we are less concerned with the dimension of the size of the photo. But some Feng Shui practitioners may want to consider this. In my opinion, what `feels good' should be acceptable. In my opinion, if you want to hang the wedding photo, my first preference is to hang it as mentioned under Para 1. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I will be shifting to my new house soon. I would like to find out where is the most suitable place in the masterbedroom to hang the wedding photograph ? A friendmentioned that it is not good feng shui to hang the wedding photograph on the wall above the bed headboard. Is it true ? Frankly, this is subjective. Some people believe that if you have the picture above the bed, it signify a married couple. While others, view it in such a way that if you constantly see too much ofit, sometimes it may create more friction especially if you see it every day and night. This is especially so maybe due to age, ie as you grow older, seeing photo of yourse…

Dear Anon, The situation you faced is often very common. This is because one must understand: 1. The Tong Shu dates are often very general advise. Since it is not customised to the couple(s). 2. Many Feng Shui practitioners look into the couple's ba zi to see if the date is suitable for both (or not). 3. In addition, it is good to check whether the date is suitable for the parents and parents-in-law. If not, one way is to wear some colour(s) that is favourable to their ba zi. 4. Cannot interpret the gabbled posting "????". Most of the time, Chinese prefer not to get married during the 7th lunar month. Warmest Regards, Cecil Thanks. Edmond

    1. Frankly, in my opinion, higher floors are often less of a concern of being "dirty". Majority of "dirty" homes are either ground floor upto usually 4 or 5th storeys high even for a weekend house. 2. Drawing a proper Flying Star chart can often hold a tell-tale sign especially if there are high concentrations of "yin" stars in a specific sector e.g. a vacant bedroom. 3. In general, if you have brought all your family members to the apartment and do check with them how they feel about the home. 4. Otherwise, get professional help from Geomaners to do a Feng Shui audit. Many of us, especially with our specialsed luo pan is able to "detect" such entities (or non-entities…

  12. Further to what I had mentioned, avoid using a water feature at sector(s) with #3 and or #4. Do also check the 20 year flying stars if there are any /and or #3 and/or #4.

Dear Sophia, Actually, many of the beliefs centres around the Grand Duke of Jupiter or the concern of Tai Sui. In fact, this year Tai Sui resides at SW sector until after the 15th day of the 1st lunar month. And because of this, this is why the idea of not "confronting Tai Sui" at SW on the 1st day of Chinese New Year. For next year i.e. in 2006 before the 15th day of the next 1st lunar month in 2006, Tai Sui will be at the West direction. Thus the belief is that one should not antagonise Tai Sui during the new year. There is no harm in playing safe. But one has to be practical, here. Imagine! if this is the only door, then looks like one should'nt leave the house f…

    1. If one has the time, one should understand this time-tested approach. And it originated from the medical field:- Feng Shui Triage Proper trouble-shooting is required. 2. Many other disciplines also have to apply this. 3. In a recent posting; one can see two worked Feng Shui charts. And often "no pain - no gain". 3.1. Often, a chart takes as much as4 hours to prepare, evaluate and provide recommendations. Be it a DIYer or a professional studying and working out the colour details. http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=19&mid=35094&new= 4. The other wayis via another time testedby instincts: if one wants to dispense with the above then…

    1. Please note that many of the concepts umder the Eight House are considered "Nice-to-have" (NTH) and not a "Must-have" (MH). 2. Under this concept:- First Choice:It is NTH a person "placed" in a good sector of a home. And it is even better if the person can say study facing their good direction. 3. One has to be realistic, if - especially because of the layout of the room, one cannot sit and study facing one's good direction: this is considered as "JTB". 4. What is JTB? Just too bad! (full stop) There is nothing else under this concept that can be used or worked. Apply other concepts like: harmonising her bedroom with her ba zi colours, checking the Flying Stars .…

  24. 1. Fundamentally, here, you are applying the Eight House theory. 2. As many of us are aware, the Eight House theory looks at how suitable the house is to the owner(s). 3. In addition, if we have several homes to decide upon, which is better, the other common approach is to perhaps determine, between these homes, which sectors are good or bad vs the other homes. 4. For example, home 1: main door (inauspicious) 2. living room (inauspicious) sector, toilet at husband's prosperity sector; we then compare home 2; home 3 against home 1 to see which home is better. 5. Other than the above, we have to use other methods : Shapes and forms and Flying star Feng Shui, to determ…
