Dear Anon, 1. In the past, a butcher is a butcher, a merchant is a merchant. 2. But nowadays, due to multi-skilling, one person may perform various (varied) tasks, it may be much harder to identify the exact element of an occupation. 3. For example, a doctor can be involved in part research. This part of his work can be considered as `wood' element. 4. What can generally be classified under the Wood element? 4.1 Well, think or imagine a tree. For the most part of it's life, it is continously growing (unless of course it is diseased or eaten by termites). 4.2 Therefore, a wood element suggests anything to do with new projects, new technology or growth. Developing new med…

Dear Lucyane, If there is sickness, 258 combination seems mostly likely the case especially with the #2 sickness and #5 misfortune combination together. You can use the 6 white in this case. Quickly, see if the `metal cure' can be implemented as soon as possible. I would strongly recommend the 6 metal coins tied with red string. But, you may choose other metal cures (if you want to). I am not sure what stage is the cancer. But if the metal cure can be immplemented real fast, it would be of great help to the health (especially if one is staying in the house). Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Vincent, Indeed, I can verify the accuracy of Lillian Too's statement. A Feng Shui foot is equivalent to an imperial foot. By utilizing this precise measurement of 43 cm or roughly 17 inches as the diagonal of a square, we arrive at what Mathematicians refer to as the 'Magic or golden square'. The Feng Shui foot recurs every 43 cm [or 17 inches.] I previously penned a brief piece on this subject, accessible at the following link: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/ruler.htm I trust this information proves beneficial.

Dear Mark, Mark Thornhill wrote: I have a 4m 7b 8w combination at the front door and I am so very confused as to what to activate. I have read Eva Wongs book and she says that I should concentrate on relationship between 7b and 8w. However, Stephen Skinner says that 4m and 8w should be concentrated on? Generally, there are many rules in flying star application. The easiest what I can advise you is follow these rules:- 1. You should always consider how the 3 element interact with each other and which is auspicious/inauspicious. 4 (weak Wood) 7 (weak Metal) 8 (weak Earth) In period 8, star 4 is average, star 7 is inauspicious, star 8 is auspicious. So the best solutio…

Hi, I'm trying to get a handle on what the significance is of the 24 mountains. Every book lists them, and gives the compass points they relate to, but that's all I've seen. Are they really just names for the divisions of the compass, like the N1, N2, N3 alternatives, or is there something more to them? The name "24 mountains" makes them sound very important, but I'm not seeing how they have any importance. Am I missing something? Thanks!

Dear Anon, To be honest, these are more of Chinese customs or beliefs than Feng Shui. And these customs should be consideredas "Nice-to-do" and not "Must-do". Thus, it would be good to follow the procedures (No harm). But if one cannot follow the procedure for one reason or the other, should not be an issue. Traditionally, it is still more important if good dates can be selected. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Please see below:- 1. Feng Shui, like other methods, provides a sense of hope in various ways. It creates opportunities for us to explore with optimism. 2. However, it is important to consume Feng Shui in moderation. 3. It is natural for people to seek self-improvement, and in my view, when applied in moderation or correctly, Feng Shui can have remarkable effects. 4. On the downside, I am aware of numerous cases where individuals have either applied "Fast Food Feng Shui" on their own or placed excessive trust in Feng Shui, leading to negative consequences such as purchasing too many objects like wind chimes. 5. Currently, I …

Dear Joe, A staircase facing the bedroom door is considered inauspicious because of Sha Qi. This is because of the negative flow of Qi of the staircase that flows directly into the bedroom (if the door is not closed). No matter if the stairs is facing the bedroom i.e. upwards movement or at the main entrance door, you see the staircase, both are considered inauspicious. A staircase should not go straight up but have a turn or landing is better to reduce Sha Qi. Placing a mirror at the landing or turn is not compulsory. Normally if space permits, a plant at one side of the steps (at ground level) is useful. Warmest Regards, Cecil -----Original Message----- From: Listmanage…

Dear Anon, In my opinion, one should classify this under a `belief' rather than Feng Shui. (Thus one must be clear between the distinction of Feng Shui and `beliefs'.) Since it is a belief, it is up to the individual to `belief' it can (or cannot) work for the person. To me, there is no harm to place three coins in the account book if one reallys wants to. If I were to say that one must use a gold gilt edge accounts book, do you want to belief what I say. Again, this is a belief as it cannot relate to the five elements. Perhaps, with all the `glitter', when one opens that page, it makes the specific area `bright'. Again, each of us, can only decide for ones-self:) Warmest…

Hi, Here are some of the information on the Chinese Unicorn: 1. It is a mythological animal e.g. like the Dragon. 2. It is considered as a White Unicorn and under Feng Shui, it is interchangeable with the White Tiger and the White Bear. 3. The unicorn is considered a solidatory animal and is a peaceful animal. 4. The significance of the Unicorn is that it represents goodness, long life, filial piety and good civil administration. The unicorn is also revered in ancient Persia and Egypt and under Christianity. 5. Whenever a Unicorn appears it means that a sage is born. For example, the sage Emperor Fu Xi who was unanimously said to be the first to discover the River Map i.…

A Dreamcatcher is the Native American way to guard dreams. It gathers bad dreams during the nightime hours to be cleared away the next morning at sunrise. It is usually placed in the bedroom above your bed. Most people use it n childrens rooms to protect them from bad dreams during the night. As for having a small one in the car, it may have to do with dreams involving a car accident that they don't wat to have anymore or we just think it looks neat up their by the mirror.

Dear Suzanne, A `flat' refers to the British language term that is equivalent to "an apartment or even condominium. Therefore, a flat number refers to the apartment's number e.g. #17-04 etc... The free Flying Star flat/apartment number analysis report therefore provides information on the `auspicious/inauspicious' interpretation of a flat/apartment. Ref: www.geomancy-online.com (Flying Star House no. report). Warmest Regards, Cecil Warmest Regards, Cecil

A Pair of Keiloon or Fu Temple Dogs Hi, Thank you, Glyn, for sending me a private email to inform me that the Keiloon resembles a Fu Fu Dog. Earlier this morning, prior to heading to work, I passed by the memorial dedicated to Lim Bo Seng, a renowned World War II hero from Singapore. The memorial featured the Keiloon positioned in various `compass' directions, serving as guardians. I have observed a similar Keiloon at my grandfather's grave, where it stands guard on both sides. The Keiloon figurine is not associated with Feng Shui but is more aligned with Chinese customs. In my view, it would be more appropriate for this `creature' to …

--- Note Added by Cecil Lee --- As there are many ways to write a Chinese word in " romanised form ", for example, some words can be `pronounced' under a specific Chinese dialect e.g. Cantonese or Hokkien etc... It can also be a different `tone'. It is hard to guess what the word refers to. It is best that the word is in Mandarin characters or if one can, provide some accompanied text or a description of the object. It would be nice if possible a picture of the object. Otherwise, it can mean alot of things even thou it can be in Han Yu Pin Yin without the `tone' on top of each character. We both belong to west houses. I have read some books and referred to your site. The reading has aroused my interest in FS. Hence I planned to make some changes. 1. If you are following the Eight House concept, then sleep with your head facing a good direction. 2. As this is a free GENERAL advice forum; you may want to consider on your end, drawing a Flying Star chart. Usually, this is looked at : for example, if a sector has rather bad flying stars such as #5 or #2; then it may be better to sleep in other sectors.... this sort of thing....

Dear Angela, Angela Le wrote: I don't understand very well on how to improve my earthly elements or at least increase or decrease it. Like what is considered water, ( a water faucet in the house) and what is considered earth ( more plants in the house). What about wood furniture? Can that be counted as earth and wood? I am a strong fire and apparently for the next 10 years I need more earth than water. What does that mean? I tried finding the answers on the site, but could not find it. Please explain. Basically, make use of this talk article about the five element and relationship as a reference:- URL: http://talk.geomancy.net Generally, you should look at the larger p…
