The opposite side usually are the entry and exit points. 3. If the classrooms are airconditioned and there are blinds at the windows, it would still be best to arrange the tables tangent to the windows so as to avoid glare. Dear Kristinna, In general, if you are using the Eight House Theory or East/West Group theory; it is a very general theory to find out your general best direction(s) or a good intangible location. Other than that, if the location is considered inasupicious under the Eight House, the only way is to stay further from the line of inauspcious influence. Other than this, you cannot do much if you continue to `occupy' this location. Other more advanced Feng Shui techniques such as the Flying Star are usually used together. I also have stairs facing the front door and have tried a remedy. I put an end table at the bottom of the stairs,against the wall.It has a colorful arrangement of silk flowers on it. Opposite this wall is a face level mirror which holds a smaller arrangement of flowers. I think it is working because people who come in have not even noticed the stairs when I've mentioned them shortly thereafter. Does this sound sufficient, Cecil? Thx.

Hi, Yes. It is preferred that the bedroom door not to be slanted as this is considered inauspicous for the couple. It should be like normal doors. Hi, Usually, the most effective method is to use a side partition any where between the main entrance door and the study room. Alternatively, you should close one of the doors when opening the other. If you are going to activate a mountain star e.g. if there is a mountain star to be activated, you can use a painting e.g. of the famous Mount Fuji of Japan or the Himalayan, Rocky mountain etc.. even if there is snow on top of the mountains. It then becomes a poison arrow to the opposite house if it is on the same `level' and when it points towards the main door of the neighbour's house. I hope, I got your question correctly. Hi, Your concerns are equally shared by a group of teachers I met recently on an invited talk on Feng Shui. The Polytechnic has a Mass Rapid Transit train tracks running above ground outside the main entrance area a short distance away. What matters here is whether the tracks are either straight or `slicing' inwards towards the School or in your case the home. If it is slicing inwards e.g. like a sickle slicing the building, then this is inauspicious as it is like a `knife' cutting into the `flesh'. If it runs parallel to the main entrance door or runs slightly at an angle, you need not worry about it other than the noise coming from trains pass by. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Hi, Before one uses the " semi-circle " one must use it correctly. The correct way is to use the semi-circle facing outwards of your home or building. Never `turn' the semi-circle inwards acting like a sickle or blade slicing towards the house. This is similar to having `pointed' arrow towards you. Here there are a few considerations:- 1. You can always create a `solid backing' behind the house by having a fence. Good `fencing' includes materials like brick walls, fence with creepers. Hi, No, it is not necessary for the kitchen door to face a window. What is more important considerations are: 1. The water position in relation to the stove and other fire elements. 2. The stove must not be `supported' by a window. 3. Positions like the Kitchen in the South, you can have the Stove face a water element to `cool' down the kitchen. As South = Fire element. Hi, In my country, it is common to find pianos. 1. More often the pianos are the `smaller' versions not the large concert hall ones. For the concert hall ones, as it is `low' it can represent a `water position' and is suitable for a living room. If one can remember, under the Flying Star theory, we have both the mountain and water star. Hi, This is a good question. What we must understand in Feng Shui is that the " frontage " of the house is very important. This is where natural light enters the house especially through the windows. The test is to stand inside the house and even with some curtains hanging at the windows (at the open position), you should have sufficient light to read in the house especially in the daytime and during normal hours and an average day. Earlier this morning, prior to heading to work, I passed by the memorial dedicated to Lim Bo Seng, a renowned World War II hero from Singapore. The main door may not be at the front of the house. It can be at the side. The analysis here is to go into the home to see the natural lighting conditions.
