    1. In general, there are two methods:- 1.1. Based on Traditional Compass School of Feng Shui:- You can browse this link for the various free reports:-http://www.geomancy.net/reports/reports.htm The specific report that you should be looking at based on the compass direction is: http://www.geomancy.net/reports/reports-list/perlist-sleep-position.htm 2. The second cateory which is either using intuitive means to locate the best bed position or commonsense Feng Shui :- Itarina L. wrote: What is the best bed position? Under a window, on the same wall as the room door, or a wall with plumbing behind it? 2.1. For the above, usually Para 1 is considered first. And see if w…

  2. These are some considerations: 1. Under symbolism in Feng Shui, instead of hanging mirrors and faceted crystal balls; in traditional Feng Shui; a hulu or bottle gourd is often used, instead. 2. As mentioned in many previous messages; usually; in general bad Feng Shui arise when a home has three or more major "leaks". 3. Often, although the toilet is considered as ONE major leak; often it is the combination of this leak plus two or more major leaks (or a combination of several minor leaks into one).

  3. Key Success Factors in D.I.Y. Feng Shui to attract wealth cannot be based on just one sentence. It involves the understanding / the application of some of these concepts:- * Fix-the-Leak, First! (VERY IMPORTANT) * The Concept of Maximizing Marks(VERY IMPORTANT) * The Customer Engineer Concept (VERY IMPORTANTFOR D.I.Y. FENG SHUI) An understanding of these concepts: * Commonsense Approach Fact or Fiction? (GOOD TO UNDERSTAND) * Fast Food Feng Shui (GOOD TO UNDERSTAND) * Feng Shui Triage * Situational Approach * The Concept of Feng Shui by Exception * The Three-Step-Approach * Trial & Error Vs Flying Star Look at it this way, if it is so easy not only to attract but to r…

  4. Hi, In my country, it is common to find pianos. 1. More often the pianos are the `smaller' versions not the large concert hall ones. For the concert hall ones, as it is `low' it can represent a `water position' and is suitable for a living room. If one can remember, under the Flying Star theory, we have both the mountain and water star. A living room is usually considered as having a water star because at the `center' area, you usually cannot find high shelves etc... Here it would be auspicious to have the concert (triangle) piano to complement the visitors chairs etc.. "on the other side" of the room. 2. For the smaller pianos, which is high at one end, it should be p…

  5. Dear Anon, To help you understand better, I have drawn a sketch of two layouts which are considered good staircase layout plans. There are more, but these two are, in my opinion, the most common ones:) Two sample layouts: Layout A and B of auspicious location of a staircase. The advantage of staircase: Layout A is that if one can imagine, a storeroom can be built below the stairs. Secondly, there is a private corridor to go upstairs.

  6. Dear Anon, Usually, it is common for the conjugal bliss (a picture of a dragon and phoenix) on a Wedding Card. The dragon symbolies Male or Yang and the phoenix symbolies Female or Yin. There is no hard and fast rule for the placement of the symbol. Sometimes it is printed also on the photo album. I hardly see anyone displaying the symbol unless during marriage. Otherwise, there is really no impact of the symbol on Feng Shui. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  7. Dear Anon, Yes, some people rub the tummy of the laughing Buddha. Usually, for those who pray to e.g. Godness of Mercy etc.. should keep the Laughing Buddha at a separate section. One way is to have different elevation on the same table. On the other hand, one can place it separately on another display shelf. Usually, display shelfs face e.g. a window or look at the main door or facing it (rather than facing inside the house). Warmest Regards, Cecil

  8. Appreciate if you can do a SEARCH (at the TOP left frame of this forum). "As similar type of layout(s) had been discussed previously + the methodology are also similar."

Dear Jen, Please see below:- Last year, I went out to buy various Ba Gua mirror. And created some resources under conference Photo Tours of Interest (with pictures) Please do a SEARCH under this conference for terms like " Ba Gua " or " convex " and you can visually see the different types of Ba Gua mirrors. Some mirrors are convex, concave, some have door gods on it, some have a lion with two swords in its mouth. Please take the effort to go thru these resources, first. Under the above resource, I have also indicated which type of Ba Gua mirror is normally being used. For those who wants to learn authentic Feng Shui should do more research, first. I personally on…

Dear Master Robert, House was constructed in 1982. We bought it in 2008. Is the period based on date of construction on date when we first moved into the house after purchasing it. Between 1982 to 2008 the owner was someone else and we never lived in the house. Regards M

Dear Anon, 1. If there are different `Gods' one should place them with a gap in between the altars. 2. The altar can be on the same level and simply leave a gap e.g. 1 or 2 inches between the `Gods'. Alternatively, another method is to use support to raise the `Gods' and leave them at different levels. The more important `God' should be highest and preferably in the centre of the alter placement. Do note that `raising the level of the Gods is not compulsory but just another consideration (instead of leaving a gap between the figurines). 3. Ideally, these figurines should be displayed `out' of the house. For example, avoid having it face into the bedroom or a toilet. 4.…

  13. Hello, I was reading this helpful article. Actually this question is more important and not as simple as it seems. For instance, my neighbor's house, which is located in the East from mine, just started doing big renovation on her property. So while I was careful not to do renovations on mine, because the 3 killings in East during most of 2009, somebody located on my East direction did. Will this affect me as well, since her property is only about 20 feet from mine? Or just affect her, since it is her house and her doing the renovation? And if we are affected by what others do as well, then what is the best cure for that? Regards Al

  15. Dear Anon, Sorry for posting only the initials of the word HDB. By the way, the intitials is not HBD but HDB In Singapore, the government has a statutory board (semi-government Board) that builds houses for the majority of the population. Approximately 90 percent of Singaporeans live in a Housing Board Flat or HDB for short. Usually, these flats are 99 year leases and partiall subsidised by the government. The purpose of the government is to making public housing affordable to everyone. Frankly, there is no difference between a `home' or a housing board flat. In our common language here, usually private housing are usually condominium, flats, landed property etc... and t…

  16. Hi, More importantly, it is the sharp edge of a building that we should be more concerned with. If the mirrored building is parallel to the wall of your building, you should not be overly concerned. Even if you are `concerned', you can easily draw down your shade or blind. Under the Sha or poison arrow concept, if you do not see it, it no longer becomes a threat. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, To give another "crude" way of associating with language, for example, some people use language in the "wrong way". For example, in Singapore, some of us learn dialect or use dialects to 'scold" people or use "foul language" widely. Here, the act of verbal abuse or like a politician, using much of the language to stir up people, can be considered as the "fire element". Anyone therefore, scolds someone, use 4-letter words can be considered as the act of using the "fire element". This is just an example. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Glad that you have `sharp' eye sight. Frankly, I did not comment on the half fish structure because I wanted to know if anyone would ask about it. Well, the more important point is the use of the clay (earth) light holders as I mentioned earlier that represents light. In Feng Shui, light is also considered one of the `items' that can aid in enhancing Qi. Here light is equivalent of water positions like a fountain. This half fish object can be seen under two context: 1. It is equivalent of the object used to light the clay (earth) light holder. Here, you understand that symbolic is again very important in Feng Shui. The shiny metallic half fish creature thus sym…

  21. Dear Bill, Please see below:- The three legged toad (gold or wood) is a commercial product. Many sellers sell it on the basis that they belife it is suppose to `bring good luck' to the owner. There is another type of Ba Gua mirror with the Two door Gods. Again, this is said to protect against evil spirits. It is usually used by some practising Feng Shui practioners (with links to their personal religion) e.g. Taoism and they themselves believe that their clients should place these Ba Gua above their doors. From what I understand, if you are talking about the First Heaven Sequence Ba Kua, it is said to be originated by the ancient Chinese sage King called Fux…

  22. Dear Airvrm, In response to my previous message, I was unable to determine the location of your Main entrance door due to the absence of a North to South indicator on your graphic layout. However, I have already identified the center of the house for you, which you can use as a reference point to determine the direction of your house. If you are following the 8 house theory, each compass point is at a 45-degree interval. For instance, North is at 0 degrees, North-East is at 45 degrees, and East is at 90 degrees. Therefore, you can identify the closest degree to determine the direction. It is recommended that you do some research on this matter. If yo…

Dear Anon, So far, I have not come across such a message in this forum. Brooms are considered inauspicious objects and should not be hung outside the main door. The only questions, I remembered users posting was when one should not sweep the floor (i.e. especially on Chinese New Year day) Warmest Regards, Cecil

  25. Dear Anon, It is for decorative purpose as no one else uses it. I believe, the owners, saw it, liked it and bought it to place on their main gate pillars. Warmest Regards, Cecil
