Hi Mr Cecil, We have purchased a resale condo, with floorplan attached. Due to lack of storage space, our ID has recommended to build a triangular shaped storeroom (marked in red floorplan). Have read that triangular shaped bedrooms and houses are not ideal, but how about storerooms? And it is right in the centre of the home. Been trying to search for answers but to no avail until I chanced upon your website.. Hope you’d be able to shed some light on this! Thank you very much!

  2. HI, we plan to buy a house but the only place to put the bed is on the same wall as the sink....half of he headboard would have the sink opposite to it. Please see attached image. Is this okay?

  3. Hi Cecil, I did the free reports on your web and found out that my bazi I am wood and east direction and my hb bazi is oso wood and southeast direction . happened that both our kua is east group as well. Our house frontage is a S2/3 facing where our main door is at NE sector and bedroom is at W sector . Under period 8 flying stars understand the frontage is good for us however with our bedroom location facing west (not so ideal direction for east grp but with good numbers 1 and 6) and main door at northeast (with bad numbers like 7,2,9) is this still considered a good unit for us? I have also read tht kitchen must Not be at nw area which thankfully it is not . May I chec…

  5. Greetings! I am looking at purchasing a house that is a perfect direction for the breadwinner of the family, however the frontage is in the Death direction for the spouse. WIll this really effect the spouse? Can Death mean transformation or is it truly illness, disease and death? Looking forward to your perspective. Ms Brende

We have decided a date for Dong Tu after ensuring the date does not clash with us. Dong Tu Date : 25 Nov between 1pm to 3pm However, our contractor work cannot make it on 25 Nov , can only make it on 26 Nov. is it ok for them to start renovation work the next day after Dong Tu? Secondly, can the Dong Tu time (1pm to 3pm) be changed to morning 10am. All input are greatly appreciated.

Hi master as rooms are very small these days, I’m thinking of using a wall bed (also known as Murphy bed) for myself. Want to check if there is any feng shui implications of using a wall bed, and anything to look out for? this way during the day, I can keep the bed up and free the floor space for doing other things like prostrations/ meditation / floor seating / yoga etc. thank u

Hello and thank you in advance for your time. My wife and I are thinking about building a new home and I feel like I need a better understanding on some of the subtilties of geomancy. First, stairways. Isn't every step potentially a small poison arrow? Can I reduce this using a rounded "nose" on the ledge of my steps? Also, what should I think about "non-full" stairways, where the steps are "floating" and we can see through. Does that prevent the Chi from going up? Second, doorways. How much consideration should be put into addressing the poison arrows coming from corners of doorways? I mean doorways are necessary in some fashion. Could it be that the…

  14. Hi, The building faces to 110 deg East and my apartment faces to 20deg N on first floor. There is an adjacent building (few feet) in front of my apartment. 20deg North Main door, 3door Windows of living room, 2 door windows of bathroom is located. Stairways from main gate to terrace goes in front of the main door and windows on North. People in our building usually walk through it daily. Majority of light and wind enters through the main door. The 50% light comes through the gap between stairways goes up and next 50% comes from balcony on East. Main door, windows all covered by next adjacent building and prevented a street view from my apartment. 110…

  15. House is facing West. There's a storm drain right outside the house, beside the garage doors' driveway (see picture) Is this bad? Since water flows through my driveway and into the drain, is that equivalent to water ($$$) draining off? If so, how do I prevent it? Or repel that? Since the storm drain is on the road, and it belongs to the city government, I don't think I can do anything about the drain. Thank you.

Attached is drawing of bedroom. - Left are windows - Right are sliding closet door - In front of bed are the master bathroom door (left), another regular closet door (middle) and entrance to the room is on the right side. Is current configuration ok? Not really a way to move bed under window (perpendicular to the master bath door). Should I hide the middle closet door knob? Note: Beyond this forum

Dear Master Cecil, I was reading an older post in this forum about how far from the bed a poison arrow had to be (when the wardrobe is made of hardwood) and I was curious to know more about the distance of 2 1/2 feet. Does it mean that if the poison arrow created by a wardrobe, for instance, is more than 2 1/2 feet distance from a bed, considering an imaginary line at 45 degress angle, it can be less felt and the sharp chi gets somewhat diluted? I am attaching a picture of the bedroom future set-up and I wanted to ask your opinion. Do you think it is worth considering buying a wardrobe that has round corners or this layout would not present a ser…

Dear Carrie, Under the Eight House Theory, as the compass directiors are sub-divided into 8 sectors, it is best that the toilet bowl is not located directly at the exact South-East compass degree. Under the Flying Star Theory, the compass directions are sub-divided into 24 directions. Again, it is best that the toilet bowl does not fall within any of the compass 15 degree increments starting from 0 degrees, 15 degrees, 30 degrees.. etc... There are two viewpoints with regards to the toilet:- 1. Majority of the practioners felt that this is a `Yin' location. 2. Some view it as a location where water `exists' in a house. And water is akin to a waterposition in the house. U…

  24. Dear Master Cecil, I recently came across some pointers with regards to Bedroom Fengshui. It is said that If the Bed is placed along a wall with a door, it is bad fengshui as (1) It is not in a "Commanding Position" where the door is visible (related to point 3) (2) Qi coming from the back (the reference did not clarify why Qi from the back is bad) (3) May get startled from the back and create restlessness However, I could not find any reference on Fengshui on the following diagram where the Bed is not exactly along the wall with a door, but the door is at the back slightly further down. For clarity, the bed is placed this way to avoi…

Dear Kapil, Thank you for your clarifications. To understand what I mentioned better, please go to this forum topic " Photo Tours of Interest (with Picture Attachments) Under this topic, click the first message posted " A picture showing circular steps radiating outwards ". This picture shows a typical `Ming Tang' formation where the semi-circle radiates outwards of the building. In your case, it should radiate outwards away from the main entrance door. For the metal pole you were mentioning; there are two ways of looking at it. Some FS practioners classify a tall thin structure as Wood element while others classify it as metal simply because the pole is made of metal. As…
