  2. Dear Hoa Luong, No, (no) - Ba Gua mirrors must not be used indoors. Never in one's own home. At staircase landings, one MAY place a mirror e.g. flat rectangular (normal type) mirror here. This is NOT COMPULSORY. One must NEVER place Ba Gua mirrors within the home. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  3. Dear Leonor, In my opinion, since this house was built in the early 1990's usually, it should be a Period 7 chart unless, there were (especially) major renovations done on or after 2004. Warmest Regards, Cecil Norman Leonor wrote: I would like to know what period should i use to make the lu shou chart for the house we are renting. The washousebuilt sometime in the early 1990's, and that should beperiod 7, but we just moved here in 2005 last yearthe month of May and this would be period 8. I read an article saying that the period you should use is the time when you moved to your new home not the time the house was built. I so confused... Help me please.

  4. Dear Saywew, With regards to the type of plants or trees: 1. In a NASA study, it was found that plants are good / effective. 2. As a general rule, you can plant any plants and ideally, the plant should continue to grow. If so, this is considered auspicious. At the front of the house, you should not however plant trees that can ultimately grow very huge as huge trees are not ideal for the front of the house especially since they will eventually block the Qi into the house. In many situations, one should avoid planting a single large tree on the front compound as this will create a very yin location. A conducive environment for Yin elements. Especially if the tree `expands'…

  5. 1. These are some of the considerations:- 1.1. If one is a salaried worker and not involved in the planning or future planning of office sitting arrangement. There is relatively nothing much one can do, here. 1.2. If oen is a sole proprietor of the business; would normally or may have good earth luck by renting or owning a good premise(s) and a good sector (even if the facing direction) is not favourable. 2. Frankly, for the Eight House concept: it is nice-to-have working in a good sector (especially Flying star sector)and even equallynice-to-have seating facing a good direction. 3. The Eight House concept offers: no cure: It is eitheror not and no if's or but's. For …

Dear Prudence, Firstly, try to use a compass and determine the sector the bedroom is in. Reference: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/house1.htm Next, try to draw an Eight House template to check to see if "death" or "disaster" falls in this bedroom. let him sleep further away from this room. If you know how to draw a Flying star chart, than do look out for #5 (misfortune/sickness) and #2 (sickness). Often, such stars in particular occuring in the 20 year Flying star or yearly flying star at a sector, would affect the household. Here, especially at the mouth of the house - i.e. the main entrance door area where possible do not have the #5 and/or #2. Warmsest Regards, Cecil P…

  8. Dear Master Cecil: Thank you for your reply to my questions regarding posts in my front yard. Now, my question is what I should do with it? The size of this utility post (where electricity wires and telephone cables are) is 6 inches by 6 inches and less than 3 feet high. Standing at my front door, this post looks like slicing into my front entrance and I cannot remove this post (utility work inside). Should I plant shrubs around this post to block my view of this post? Or should I grow climbing vines, such as trumpet vine, around the post? Please advise. Thank you very much. Regards, Anon

These are some considerations: 1. Applying Flying Star is about looking at the big picture. First. 2. Where are the openings vs e.g. the plotted pie chart to see where qi most likely flow into the home or that sector. This forms the key ingredient in later seeing whether a cure can be put into place if any. 3. Frankly, I can't comprehend this statement: "The five element analysis (mountain vs water) result in earth 5 (inauspiciou) and" (?????)

  12. Dear Lyndha, 1. I understand your concern. Some Feng Shui practitioners believe that the front door should be `solid' and not see thru. 2. Alhough there is some truth in this, most houses do continue to have a solid door. 3. It is hard to generalise what is a solid and what is a `weak' door. But generally, in my opinion, it is still acceptable to have frosted glass on the door as one still retains `privacy' and does not allow anyone to peep thru the main door. 4. For the above, we can see that there can be two `camps' those who insists that doors must be `solid' (not glass etc..) 5. There are those who, would believe that it is either a non-issue or of secondary importanc…

  13. Hello, My house was built in 1961(period 5), but an extension was built from a car port recently (unsure of exact year, but in period 8). I am not sure what year to use to create my flying star map. The original date period or the one from the extension? Or do you ever use one period for one part and another period for another part? Thank you in advance!

  14. We just moved in, and our upstairs neighbors are going up and down the stairs all day in front of our window. I would estimate it's about 5 or 6 feet away from our left front window, which is a very large window. It's an apartment building with an unusual layout from the 1960's, and we were lucky to get one of the apartments with larger front windows. However, due to our unfortunate apartment placing in the building (there's 22 units), we both get the stairs - and being a corner unit - we also have people walking by in front of the other, equally sized rightward window as well on their way to the parking lot. The two front windows and front door take up nearly the…

  15. Dear Cecil Lee, I am a Gua 3 wood person (East Group). According to Eight House (Ba Yun/Zhai Yun) - ideally Main Door @ East is Excellent. But unfortunately my main door is at South-West (Disaster) which I can't change/relocate (HDB rules) and at present situation I can't sell either. What should I do? Is there any remedy to this? Please advice n thank you.

  16. 1. Yes, a bedroom should be well ventilated. And moving is generally good: i.e. open window to allow fresh air. 2. Under commonsense approach to Feng Shui, the windows can be opened (fully or partially) so long as :- 2.1. If strong winds, then make sure that the bed (face/head) is directly away from this window. Best that the bed is away from the bed. 2.2. Moving "air" such as placing a fan to circulate air within the bedroom is always a plus point. 2.3. For those who have the privilege of turning on air con; it is best that the air-con should not be located above one's bed-head. As cold winds flow downwards and at night, if air con is turned on, cold air would blow …

  19. 1. It is best to look at this issue based on the concept of the Holy Trinity of Chinese Luck system:- 1.1 Heaven Luck - what one is born with (and the dreaded "prediction" of Luck for or against a person. 1.2 Earth Luck - Feng Shui of the home and office. 1.3 Human or Man Luck - factors. 2.1 Amongst all the above Three "forms of Holy Trinity of Luck". The Heaven Luck segment has the most number of escape clauses. From things like education, one's surroundings - shaped by family, friends; and some even say things like pilanthropy - doing good etc.. or karma sort of thing. 2.2 Under Heaven Luck also one must never fall under : auto-suggestion and self-fullfilling proph…

    1. The good news is that such things as Pi Xie are modern commercial products. 2. The only purpose is to enrich the seller. Often, it is the same Feng Shui master that sells these products in the name of Feng Shui. 3. You can find out more of such commercial products under this URL:- http://wiki.geomancy.net/wiki/Commercial_Products 4. In fact, the only real Feng Shui product has to be this special ring! http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=29&mid=23346&new= 5. These are purely modern commercial products and should be treated equally as what one does with interior decorative items. What happens when we broke a piece of an interior de…

Hi! I have a little problem, when we moved to this apartment with 2 bedrooms, we use the small one for my husband's studio (he is a musician), and since my daughter was a baby we use the master for the 3 of us. When she grow up, we decided to let her have the master and we went to the living room on a futon. The master is located on the finance area, and since we are having trouble with our finances, I decided to put some feng shui to workand I'd like to change rooms, give the small room to my daughter and use the master as a studio plus our bedroom with the same futon. I think this would be better because we'll have more privacy, and we would be on the power zone. Am I …

Dear Glyn, -----Original Message----- From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'free-advice' suppressed suppressed> Date: Tuesday, January 26, 1999 8:57 AM Subject: Buying a house Yes, look at the landscape and for a house that has the correct facing door for the breadwinner. Normally, you will also find that you have a certain good or bad feeling about the house. Once you are more or less ready and have narrowed down to the few houses which suit you, you can then use the Flying Star theory check for the most suitable house. The rules to apply depends on the element you are curing for and only to cure stars in conflict. Warmest Regards Robert Lee
