Currently, my family photo is placed on a wall in my living room which is facing the entrance to my kitchen, which also faces the windows in the kitchen (the windows of a normal kitchen ina HDB flat). Please remove it from the current location. It is extremely bad luck to face the family photo facing the kitchen because the kitchen got lots of knife and forks etc which is like cutting the family. Dear Anon, 1. If one hires a Feng Shui practitioner who practises (Ren Cai) or Human/Man luck Feng Shui, more often, a fountain is placed close to the main entrance door area. 2. But, honestly, the placement of a fountain comes under the following considerations:- 2.1 It is not advisable to have a fountain - especially if the breadwinner is a weak fire or strong water person. As a water position can overwhelm the weak fire or extinguish his weak fire. If one is a strong water person, too much water can also overwhelm him/her. 2.2 What is the actual purpose of a fountain? 2.2.1 If one is living on a landed property, a water position especially at the frontage does help. Dear John, John Low wrote: Where is the best place to put my small fish tank? The best place to put water feature to activate your water wealth for your flying star would be where your auspicious water star is found. This means that if your house is a period 7, then the sector containing the water star 7 (is your current prosperity for a period 7 house), and star 8 is your future prosperity, while 9 is your future future prosperity. So if a water feature is placed in the sector containing the waters star 7/8, this would be your two best sector to activate your wealth based on your flying star. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Please can you advise me on where to install my water feature. The best place to place a water feature that is auspicious for Feng Shui is to find where your water wealth location is within your house. For example, a Period 8 house, the current wealth is star 8, future wealth is star 9 and future future wealath is star 1. For period 7 house, the current wealth is star 7, future wealth is star 8, future future wealth is star 9. etc. So sectors where these 3 star is located are he better sectors within the house to place the water feature so as to activate the water wealth luck. 1. Usually for such a question, it needs more indepth analysis. However, you did mentioned that the aquarium is at Northwest corner of the office. 2. Under the trigram, NW is = the head (male) of the household and thus affects your husband. NW is also where one of the most important trigrams in the modern ba gua chart = Heaven luck. 3. Since we do not have detailed information to work on, it is best to remove especially the most recent water feature. And avoid placing any more such things. 11. Started by gardenbra,

Dear Molly, 1. Under the Feng Shui concept `if it no longer can be seen, it no longer becomes a " threat ". This principle can also be applied to the gas cylinder. 2. Usually, it is kept away from the bedrooms either next to it or directly below a bedroom. 3. Generally, it is advised that the cable is not too long or placed too far from the source (if possible). 4. If the tank is `concealed' or placed in a cabinet, then, place it like any other liquid e.g. a water heater in such a location. Thus safety would be a primary concerned when compared to `Feng Shui'. 13. Started by VP,

Dear Vicki, 1. There are two major theories/concepts to refer to on the placement of water positions. 2. The two major concepts are:- 2.1 Shapes and Form Feng Shui Here, it would depend on the type of water position. If the water position is flat e.g. a ground level pond e.g. for koi fish etc... than this can be represented by `clear space'. But if it is a fish tank, usually the fish tank is tall with leg stand, than it cannot represent `clear space'. `Clear space' is akin to a bird flying freely infront ... unobstructed. Usually water positions that provide clear space are especially good at the frontage of the home. While fish tank should be placed against a wall. Hong…

Here are some of the major considerations:- 1. Avoid hanging the photo (portrait) sharing the same wall as the toilet. 2. Avoid hanging the portait facing the toilet. 3. Try not to have the photo facing the main door. 4. Try to avoid having the portrait facing the dining table. 5. Avoid placing the portait in any "persons" bedroom. 6. If it is placed in a study or an EMPTY bedroom, place it close to or next to the window. But make sure that the sun does not shine directly onto the portait. 7. Avoid hanging the portait at the "end" of the hallway. 8. Avoid hanging it sharing the same wall as the stove or facing a stove or facing kitchen utensils such as knifes, forks (s…

  15. Started by Bless,

Dear Bless, For a mirror in the bedroom, the most favourable place is on your dressing table provided the dressing table is not facing your bed. It can be from the level of the dressing table and it should not `cut-off' part of your head. Therefore, the mirror need NOT be of full height from " tip to toe ". The mirror should also not face the toilet door, such that when you come out of the toilet and see can the mirror. Mirror must also not be placed above the headrest of your bed set. You can place the mirror below a window again, it is best to place the mirror on your dressing table (which does not face your bed). Warmest Regards, Cecil Lee -----Original Message----- Fr…

  18. Started by Darlene,

Dear Darlene, 1. For the Chinese, there is what is known as ancestor worship. Here, a portrait of a loved one or a tablet (representing the loved one) and a incense or joss stick holder is placed on an altar. Usually, many of the houses have space constraints and the altar (ancestor worship) is placed in the living room or dinning room. 2. I believe, your situation is not the same as the above. But rather to keep the portraits. In your case, it is best to keep the portraits on a wall, in a `quiet room' such as the study room. Perhaps, you can also share with us have large are the portraits and if you have any other rooms that you have thought off. Alternatively, in the w…

  21. Started by myfs_44465,

Dear Ryan, 1. Priority should be given to placing the bed in a `good' Shapes and Form position: 1.1. Usually, the bed is against a solid wall 1.2. Preferably it should not be on the same wall as the bedroom entrance door. 1.3. It should not be on the same wall as the toilet. 2. The above are the more important considerations for placing the bed. 3. Only after one has considered the `Shapes and Form' of bed placement, then should one consider, sleeping in a good sector or having the head face a good direction and not the other way around. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Jonathan, 1. In my opinion, it is quite dangerous to practise such "Feng Shui". 2. For example, let me give you an example. Singapore is quite a small island. And if we drove a car at non-peak period, it takes less than 1 hour from Western Singapore to Eastern Singapore. And it takes only about 45 minutes to travel from North to South or vice versa. 3. If one checks several of the messages under this forum; there was a recent message asking whether since the person is a West group person, should he, stay in the West? 4. The question asked is what happens to his family if they are East group persons? It is bad enough for husband and wifes to sleep in separate bedrooms…

Dear Felicia, We should take advantage of both: Flying Star Feng Shui and Eight House Theory. Under the Flying Star Feng Shui or as you mentioned, `the stars': if a sector is out of balanced (under Flying Star Feng Shui); you should neutralise any bad elements within this sector. Once you had neutralised any imbalances under this sector, there is really no issue: if this is a good sector under your Eight House. If this sector is your `Excellent' sector under Eight House, do take advantage of it. By sleeping under this sector. For those, who do not have a choice, e.g. all the bedroom locations e.g. bedroom 1, bedroom 2 or bedroom 3 are not favourable with regards to Eight …

The other bedroom happens to be my death direction and his prosperity direction. Where should we place our bed? The master bedroom is overall a better direction for both of you. Reason is because if either person is Death or Disaster, then it won't really benefit. At least Spook or Disaster is acceptable. This is especially if the house suits your husband, then even if he has the least favourable room it is fine. The reason is because he will gain luck from the house. The better bedroom luc…

Dear Anon, Firstly, a warm welcome! The common saying goes " Rome was not built in a day". Nowadays with easy access to the website, you try to begin exploring authentic Traditional Feng Shui. How to start? The Chinese Luck system is based on "the holy trinity" of luck. And one can classify most of the systems in general under:- 1. Heaven Luck - what one is suppose to be born with 2. EarthLuck - The Feng Shui of one's home &/or office 3. Human or Man Luck - self, relationship with others One useful start is to read the various articles in this forum classified under one of the three categories to better understand the three different luck systems. Other useful…
