i am curious how feng shui works.Eg is main door direction more impt than bedroom best location than is best sleeping position. I currently stay in a 2nd best bedroom with a good sleeping direction but my main door of house is not my best. But my life is down with illness. My brother who used to stayed in the "death" position bedroom but with best sleeping position died of cancer last yr. Both brother and I have the same KUA number 1. now i am going to move into the bedroom which is the "irritant" location (facing northeast as measured from the centre of the house). I wonder will it make my life worseas my so called 2nd best room is not tat good either judging with my…

These are some considerations:- 1. In my opinion, your question is like ebony and ivory: 20 year or annual (full stop). 2. There are a-lot of considerations even if one wants to say which is more powerful. 3. As mentioned under Para 2, there are indeed ALOT of other considerations. Thus for annual or annual cures, it depends on individual homes and the result may not be similar for every Tom, Dick or Harry. Other factors include: Heaven luck, man or human luck factors, philantrophy, education da da da .de de de da da... 3.1. In theory, of course, based on the most timely stars, logically, an academic would claim that annual is "more powerful". Even so, this is considere…

  4. I am unclear whether the direction of the house is more important than the direction of the main door, or the door I use most often. The books I read do not say. I am suspecting the door has more influence, since as a Kan person in a Li house, I should be doing well, but the door I always use is in my unfavorable Southwest corner. I have been sick since childhood, and I wonder if this may be part of the problem. The other door is in the also unfavorable northeast. Does an unfavorable entrance overrule the compatibility I have with my home? Thank you for your time and thoughts. Carla

These are some considerations: 1. You wrote: The hallway door is facing my nice glass balcony one. 1.1. Without a photo, it is difficult to fully grasp this. As often, unless one is physically at the home/apartment; or at least see the layout out; 1.2. Harder here to understand what you mean. And also, how large is the "nice glass balcony" and whether you open it or slam shut it most of the time. 2. With all the haze around, one possibility could be the frontage could be "facing the street" view. 3. Other considerations include: if you always slam-shut your main door when at home; then this is highly unlikely to be your frontage.

I have an idea now to swop my main door to the gate position (subject to management approval). so my main door will face West then. However, both me and my hb is East goup people (Kua 1 and 9) but my daughter is West group. Is it advisable not to change my main door position (original south facing if gate don't consider)? However, my main door also facing the living room balcony which is also not very ideal.

Dear Susan, In Traditional Feng Shui, the main door is the door where one usually have the house unit/number on the door. If you are constantly using the garage door, one can use the Compass School of Feng Shui i.e. either or both : Eight House Theory or Flying Star analysis to check which door is more favourable i.e. the garage door or the main entrance door to use. In such instances, one may add a unit no. to the garage door. I cannot provide any comments on the Bagua template as this usually refers to the `Black Hat Sect' and this form of Feng Shui is not recognised nor effective method. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  8. 1. Some say that SW is the romance sector. Thus, it was felt that hanging family photos is acceptable, here. 2. Usually when applying Flying Star Feng Shui, one can further fine tune applying paintings appropriate for that sector. Thus, if that sector has a mountain star then, a "landscape" painting or picture is acceptable. While if it is a water wealth location, then common Chinese paintings include the kok or gold fish paintings. Glass framed paintings if possible should not be hung facing a bedroom door or facing the main entrance d door. 9. Dear Anon, I cannot blame you for being so confused as to where to hang Christmas lights after reading here and there. This is because, based on what you wrote, all the understanding is not correct. 1. Grand duke theory states that one should not: a. Touch `him' b. Distrub him. I can in general understand one may consider lights `disturbing' him but it should not be the case. 2. 5 Yellow is based on this Year's Flying Star Chart where south = 5 Yellow. Again, this is based on a general assessment that every household must be careful of 5 Yellow. This `theory' is too general to be applied and is not tailored to the individual. I believe, at this point in time since you ar…

Hi, This is a good question. What we must understand in Feng Shui is that the " frontage " of the house is very important. This is where natural light enters the house especially through the windows. The test is to stand inside the house and even with some curtains hanging at the windows (at the open position), you should have sufficient light to read in the house especially in the daytime and during normal hours and an average day. Here, you should not be unduly worried if it is a `stormy' day and you see a `dark' house. Alternatively, in the above senario, you should also be aware that this is also the side of the house where it is `presented' to the public ie. it is d…

  11. I reproduce my comments, below:- === START === These are some considerations:- 1. You stay there, I (geomancer) don't! 1.1. Thus it would be very irresponsible for me to give you a one line advice! And you may have to live with such a consequence. 2. Just imagine a bomb. Even a bomb or a grenade when it detonates; has a critical radius. Thus, don't just think that just because the centre of gravity is only a pin prick, it is only at that dot. 3. Just look at the illustration b, I provided. The area is at least larger than the red circle I drawn around the "pin prick" centre of gravity. 4. Thus, what makes one think that by say shrinking the toilet (a little) one's worry i…

Glad that you enjoy the information on our website:- Gary Lim wrote: I have 1 question though. recently, i checked the Chinese Calender (Those with auspicious &inauspicious predictions) and it shows that 16th of december is a good day for shifting house. What you need to remember is that a typical chinese calendar DOES NOT personalise to any one person. So it is a general date that is supposed to be good or bad for everyone. In general, there are two ways to check an auspicious date:- 1. Just do a quick lookup in a Tung Shu or Chinese Alamac, and pick the date that is deemed aus…

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I heard 2 different things the first one is that i have to allign the bagua to the front door. the second is that i have to use real directions (north, southwest, etc) Which one is true? Actually, when you hang a bagua, the purpose is to help deflect the Sha Qi especially cutting into your main door or frontage. So you do not just hang it there just because someone tell you it is good. So once you understand the purpose of the bagua (ie to deflect sha qi), therefore you place it at the poition to help reflect the sha qi that is affecting you. You don't just place it at the door or at a position. You place it where it helps to delect the s…

Dear Alex, Frankly, I am not familiar with the Feng Shui consultants in Tokyo. Are there in the yellow pages or `word of mouth.' Usually, quite alot of Feng Shui practitioners I understand in Japan uses 9-Star Ki (both popular in UK also). As mentioned, 9-Star Ki and Traditional Feng Shui (or Flying Star is identical). However, the way it is done differs and thus, it is not advisable to `mix' the two as you may get different results. Either you follow 9-Star Ki or Flying Star. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  17. Hi Cecil, Now that I know where the center of my house. I have a few more questions: 1) Is the direction for my bedrooms related to the house center? Example, my master bedroom is located in the southwest sector of the house and my master bathroom is located in the south sector of the house. Can I assume that my master bedroom faces southwest and my master bathroom faces south? 2) The master bedroom is right above 1/3 portion of the garage. Is that bad and what's the cure? 3) The master bathroom's toilet is right above the front door (which sits in the South "spook" sector and my gua number is seven). I know this is bad, but what is the cure for this? 4) My prosperity sec…

Dear Cecil im confused about the Facing Direction of my Apt, i've read books, some say Main Door, some say Balcony. My Balcony is opposite my Main Door & the Balcony faces the Back of another Apt Block. There is no traffic outside my Main Door as it faces the Main Doors of my two neighbours (but not directly, so no poison arrows). And my these two neighbours' flats' balconies (which is opposite of their Main Door as well - which means Same Facing as my Main Door) face the Playground downstairs. So do i take the Main Door OR my Balcony as the Facing Direction? i know that this is crucial in order to plot the Flying Star Natal Chart accurately. There's not really any pr…

Dear Edna, 1. Feel free to use the manual method of determining your Gua (kua) number at:- http://www.geomancy.net/fs/house1.htm or 2. Use all the various Free Eight House (East/West Group) of person's reports at the following website:- http://www.geomancy-online.com In the above link, you can generate almost any type of Gua (Kua) related Free reports e.g. Eight House Report Sleeping Positions Office seating positions Gua Number etc... Actually, you should learn more about Ba Zi or Pillars of Destiny (Ba Zi). The rationale because, East / West group of persons is only based on just the year of birth. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Hello, I am in the process of buying a new home and I think I picked a bad house lot. I still have time to change it, so can you help me pick the better one? The land marked in red that says “MINE” is the lot I picked. The only bad thing about this one is the house number is 4009. I read that 4 means death and 9 means forever (death forever). If you add 4+9 you get 13 which is unlucky in western culture but lucky in China. 1 + 3 equals 4 which means death again. The direction is southeast which is a lucky direction for my husband and I. I am the year of the sheep (1991) and he is the year of the rabbit (1987). I read that our lucky directions are East, Sou…

Dear Henry, If you are doing an analysis, it is good to consider analysing the `different' results obtained if your main door is at the back or your actual main door. Usually, the frontage of the house is looked at. Here, standing outside the home or from either the front of the house or the back, check to see which is the brightest.. usually this is done in the morning or up to noon (12.00pm). 1. In many cases, the frontage is where you have your frontdoor or the door to the garage on nearly the same `face'. 2. If your back door is really at the back of the house, it is quite difficult to consider this as your main door. For purposes of FS audit, using say the Flying Sta…

Appended by Cecil: Looks like some of your posting info is unreadable. I have read a few books on fengshui, and recently after reading Joey Yap's Fengshui Interior, I have gotten a little confused and hysterical about my new house (moving in on the 15th this month). My house (together with the main door) faces North. It was bought before I started any research on Fengshui. Destiny arranged such passion to surface way too late. ; p The area around the house seems okay and the rooms in most way does not violate the Form Theory Taboos. I plotted the Bagua sector of the house by finding the Bagua North, and arranged the furniture according to each Bagua sector. (drawing 8 lin…

Dear Anon, To a varying degree, there are many types of dragons. Some are `English' in origin e.g. those you see in the show `Dragon Heart' with Sean Connery as the `dragon's' features and voice. There are many other `types' of dragon where they come from. The `traditional' Chinese dragon from what I understand does not have wings. For example, if one has the opportunity to see a dragon `dance' where performers hold the head, body and tail and move around gracefully (similar to the fashion where u see a lion dance). Therefore, I have not come across any dragons with winds as what u have mentioned. What matters is the symbolism e.g. a dragon with our without wings (by defi…

  25. Dear Cah, 1. Both Eight House and Flying star belongs to the : Compass School of Feng Shui. 2. Ask yourself: What is the underling difference between Eight House and Flying Star? 3. YES/NO? Cannot think of a difference? 4. How about Time dimension? 5. The clue, here is that the Eight House is a STATIC model. Where else Flying Star : 20 year; Yearly, Monthly, Hourly is based on slightly more dynamic time factor. 6. From the above, try to imagine for yourself which is more dominant? A dynamic system or a static system? I don't want to say further. Warmest Regards, Cecil Quote: Cahaya H. wrote: Dear Cecil, According to eight house concept, south east sector is a …
